Interpol really doesn’t get enough credit for their role in the revival of guitar centric rock. Turn on the Bright Lights is every bit the equal to Is This It. Two different styles of guitar, but both equally refreshing.

remi moses Arcade Fire never had a strong vision, as in what kind of music they wanted to make and execute. Yes, they were ambitious but imo they were all over the place making most of their songs forgettable or awkward. They were just OK compared to those bands. Muse are more epic, The Strokes are more classic, Interpol has more depth, The Killers has more longevity.
Visions got fk all to do with it. Their first and third album are of a higher standard than "some" of the bilge served up by the bands you mention during that same period.

Watching this as a 28 year old in 2020 and instantly reminded of how lucky I was to be a middle school kid finding my musical tastes in the early 2000’s. Killers. Interpol. Everything else. Man, we really grew up with some of the greats, didn’t we?

Did you not hear how much they cheered once he mentioned Interpol? The only reason you might get the idea that the crowd is meh, is because whichever company recorded this most definitely isolated crowd noises while they're performing, that's why can't hear them singing along... Also the way the whole show was shot, as always in recent times, they're hyperfocused on the artist and they rarely ever cut to the crowd, so that's why it also might seem like a dead crowd
The mainstream success achieved by The Strokes' Is This It spawned a new and very much needed resurgence in Rock & Roll. I'm glad to see & hear that it hasn't dissipated despite the loads of forgettable garbage that infiltrate our airwaves. Also, a shout out to another of my favorites also from this era - MGMT.

@@DiamondLifer yeah I saw them this summer and the bass player that is currently playing live with them has no idea how to play songs off Bright Lights, he got the gist of it but there were a lot of fills missing, everything after Antics is way easier and the timing makes sense in those songs. They were still good but it ruined Obsticle 1, Say Hello to the Angels and The New for me, he did alright on Leif Erikson thoo.

Interpol is pretty underrated. I mean their basslines, guitar riffs, deep lyrics and theatrical videos. They have to be in the top 5 alternative rock bands of 2000s.

A raíz de un accidente domestico que me dejó en cama por unos cuantos meses, me ví obligado a descrubrir nuevas bandas y tuve el privilegio de descrubir a Interpol, escuché todos sus álbumes, todas sus canciones, entrevistas y shows en vivo, realmente jamás escuché una banda tan simple y tan buena, me quedé perplejo al escucharla y aún me pone la piel de gallina. The Strokes is my favorite band and I was ecstatic to see them on their home stomping grounds at govball16. But goddamit if The Killers didn't put on the most killer (...) live show of that entire weekend next to a frankly amazing lineup. This song, this cover specifically, turned me on to Interpol despite having their albums for years. Fantastic show

i wish, but sadly just do it for the love of music. I find it funny when people seem to have a problem with that- not saying you do- but some people seem to be really bitter which is probably linked to their own insecurities and plays right in to the hands of the big labels that try to monopolise the industry and flood the charts with the same songs rearranged differently. I find it funny when people seem to have a problem with that- not saying you do- but some people seem to be really bitter which is probably linked to their own insecurities and plays right in to the hands of the big labels that try to monopolise the industry and flood the charts with the same songs rearranged differently. Wouldn't accuse you of being so stupid though.

Dude yes. Two of my favorite bands combined into one. The Killers nailed this. Ronnie nailed the drums so well. The drums in this song are what make it so good. Glad he nailed it. Brandon sang it well too. So happy i came across this
