Its Løjresø only 40 miles off Copenhagen. I fished there since I was 10. Its only 3 miles from a paved road. I even talked to the ranger/(forrest knight). As he helped expand it 20 years ago... We just got "Alle mans rett". Please support this.
That's our beautiful life in north scandinavia. Quiet and Nature everywhere. I would prefer kill myself than living in a big city around all these modern people.

The books are based on Scandinavia, and the movies were supposed to be filmed in Norway. But since Peter Jackson is from New Zealand were the movies filmed there

First take is from Løjresø in Rudeskov. It was a creepy swamp area 20 years ago. I should know. They cut down the trees, now its a lake. I even spoke to the "Skovridder" about the change. Damn I feel old.

It is beautiful, there is some old danish folksongs that has more or less dissapeared into obscurity.
Så som Hr Truelses Døtre, Herr Svejendal, Liden Grimmer og Hjelmer Kamp, Sven Felding etc.
If you decide to focus more on nordic folksongs, it would be awsome if you also focused on some of the more forgotten.

Many of them can be found in a book from 1591 called Hundredevisebog (Book of a hundred songs) by Anders Søren Vedel. I belive it is the first systematic collecting of folksongs in the world. It can be found on the internet, but its in archaeic Danish. The book somehow gravitates about songs dealing with the heroes and kings in the time of Theodorik the Great, i belive it was because its collectors wanted to write a supplement to Saxo Gramaticus' History of the Danes, using the songs as a supplement.
Another great source of danish folksongs is balladeskolen.dk It has the nodes, as well as soundbits for reference.
