- We're here in Waikiki for a quick 2 night getaway with no rental car. Our first time staying at the beachfront Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and we loved it! From the most price friendliest breakfast buffet to just being steps away from a breathtaking white sand beach, this resort has it all!

PSA: The people of Maui and all of our UA-cam ohana affected by the tragedy are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We have donated to the Red Cross of Hawaii, Maui Food Bank and encourage our viewers do the same if able to. If cannot, please keep them in your thoughts.
We decided to release 2 upcoming Oahu videos (8/23 & 27) in light of the happenings in Maui because we want to spread positivity among our community to remind us all why we love Hawaii so much and to support the businesses we visited. Lahaina, Maui, and its people will persevere in this time of darkness and they will rebuild a community that they'll be able to call home. That we are sure of.
We just want to be transparent in explaining our usual happy attitude during the filming of these 2 vlogs.

It was so nice to see the Outrigger featured---we stayed there years ago and loved the proximity to the beach and Duke's. Thank you for reminding me how great this resort really is!

Hi Bill and Lisa. Duke's is part of the TS Restaurant Group. Their very first restaurant was Kimo's in Lahaina, and it opened in 1977. Hula Pie originated at Kimo's. Kimo's was lost in the fire. TS Restaurants has a fund called Legacy of Aloha, which is collecting donations to help their employees affected by the fire. Praying for Maui.

What timing! You had no idea what was happening on Maui right at the time you were enjoying yourself in Waikiki. Thank you for your support at this time and always. Most of us in Hawaiʻi still want visitors to come -- Weʻre just recovering economically from the pandemic, and many people and businesses depend on tourism, including those on Maui. Just donʻt go to West Maui, but other places on the island are open, as well as all the other islands, so e komo mai -- please come and spend your money and have a great time!

Hi Guys my family & I just left Honolulu, we stayed @ the Sheraton Waikiki. our original vacation was Westin in Maui. SO SO SAD!!! but last minute we got flight & room so we could have family vacation. MAUI STRONG!!!

The best thing aside from donating money to Maui is to keep going to ALL parts of Hawaii because these people do not need to lose their livelihoods over a once in a lifetime (hopefully) catastrophe! Important to not drop the ball on this situation and keep donating every so often because this is not going to go away with the interest of the media.
Yes, especially the other parts of Maui that still need tourist dollars, like Kihei and Wailea. Despite what you might see on social media, Maui and Hawaii are not closed. Please come to Maui, but respect what is going on in Lahaina at this time.

10:32 Not to be a downer, but seeing the date and time on the TV it appears that you were filming when the disaster in Lahaina was impending. To think that in a days time, so many lives were changed.

Wow, what a stunning resort!
I lived there and had no idea Duke's offered a $25 breakfast buffet. Wowza. I use to go Sunday afternoons for the live music and drinks ourside on the beach. Best tip for my fortunate return to live on the west side. Wowza. Yes, papaya is the healthiest daily choice for breakfast. ABC is the best gor a quick snack or drink along with the now Japanese owned 7-11 that offers lots of prepared Pacific Rim foods to go. Yummy.
Yes, a great deal for that buffet, especially in Waikiki.

My hotel home away from home!!! Unfortunately Covid changed so many of the services they offered returning guests, but hopefully that will improve. No Hawaii plans this year, but I really enjoyed visiting through you - made my day!! So sorry for what has happened on Maui but appreciate your efforts!!! Have a great rest of the week 🤗🤗

Duke’s $29 lunch buffet is even better … AYCE garlic shrimp, kalbi short ribs, kalua pork & cabbage, teriyaki chicken, and made to order fresh poke bowls. 😋 Reservations are recommended. Kamaainas get a 20% discount. Validated parking at Outrigger East 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

When you were giving the time during the hotel room tour, my heart dropped. That was literally 2 minutes before the first fire event was called in on Maui. My heart breaks for all those who were effected.

I stayed here in the early 90s and it’s fantastic hotel close to everything close to the beach everything but hasn’t changed much as it looks a lot fresher than I remember

Bill and Lisa, you were the ones who told us about Duke’s (through your videos) and we were there the day before you were! We left on the morning of the 8th - Tuesday. I also remember how windy it was on Monday and Tuesday because of Hurricane Dora. Thank you for posting this. Aloha.

I miss the Hawaiian papaya. There is nothing better than this type of papaya. So sweet. No need for lemon in my opinion.

It brought back a lot of good memories of my days in Hawaii. The price price for the breakfast buffet was very reasonable for Waikiki. First visit to Waikiki the room was $35 in 1977 and just across Kalakaua from the beach. Unobstructed view. We go to the BI every year. 136 days and counting 🌺

Stayed there many moons ago. Stayed a month, and I recall a month in Hawaii was a 1000.00 us dollars. It was the best time. Prayers for the ohanas of Maui. 💔 😢 💔
1 and only time I was lucky enough to go to Oahu , I had a drink at dukes . Was so yummy, also stayed at the outrigger your at, we had the top floor suite. It was so great, the pool was cold 😔. But across the street was the beach, only got to stay 3 days. Wasn’t enough time there, this was back in 1995. Hopefully I’ll get to go again 🙏🙏

Love Dukes Waikiki and have been there a few times. The locations is great! Just went to Dukes in Huntington Beach love their Hula Pie and coconut shrimp can’t go wrong with those 2
