  • I finally got my hands on one of the new Dunlop frames. The control-oriented CX200 looks perfect for my game, but does it actually work for me?

    Something seems off about the quality of the video. I am going to look into this and try to fix the issue by the next video.

      It looks like the frame rate is off, hence the jerky motion (not your swing 😛).

    I have been playing with this racquet for a few months now, it feels great! I would say its definitely a platform racquet off the shelf, but adding weight to 3, 9, 10, 2 and also the same counter weight to the handle, then dropping down to about 48lbs with a poly, it plays like a dream. It helped me fix those short shots, added more pop behind my flat serves, and gave me a bit more access to spin. The only down side is, you need to be able to swing the racquet with that kind of added weight to it comfortably, to reap the benefits of this frame. Solid over all! I switched from the babolat pure strike family for this and I don't think i'm ever going to go back hahah! Nice review!

    Interesting, the tennis warehouse review said it was really low powered. Thanks for the review! I currently also use a VCore 95, but interested in a 98 sq inch head with 16 x 19 stick

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  2 роки тому

      Yes, compared to their other line the CX200 is the stick for those looking for power. In my personal opinion, it did feel more powerful than rackets like the blade or the pure strike. So according to the Dunlop line, it is control-based, according to other rackets I've played with it was on the higher power end. The Vcore 95 is a wonderful stick, you could take a look at something like the Blade 98 or Head Extreme if you want some more spin!

    I agree with you that the racquet sprays the ball long! I have the 18x20 cx 200 tour and that still has an unpredictable launch. In my opinion the power grid stringtech killed the racquet making the top of the sweetspot way too open!

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  2 роки тому

      Interesting that you had a similar experience as I did. I think the thin beam does help with control but maybe the launch angle is what made it spray a little.

    @kenharris7194 3 роки тому +1

    Based upon your review of the 200 CX, it sounds like the Blade V7 98 16x19 has a more predictable response. I think the negative with the 200 CX is the swingweight is a bit low for a player that has big groundstrokes and serve. Some lead tape at 3 and 9 or 2 and 10 would most likely bring this racquet alive IMO.

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  3 роки тому +2

      I completely agree, I think adding some weight to those positions would help with stability and make the racket a tad bit more predictable!

      Yes, I truly enjoy the Diadem Flash string. It is very similar to Head Hawk with a fraction of the cost. It's a really comfortable round co-poly. It really allows you to hit out on the ball if that's your style.

    Either the CX200 with 3 lbs lower tension or the CX200 Tour with the same tension. Either should work better for you. With the CX200 @52 I think it's too tight, giving you a small and hot sweet spot. Going down 3 lbs will make the racquet much more friendly and more spinny.

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  3 роки тому +2

      Good point, I have actually recently dropped my tension down. If I were to review the frame again I would probably go down to about 48lbs.

    OK, What would You recommend instead of this? Head Speed to get the pop, control and power? Or did You try play it again and put 8 g led on it and decrease preasure on the strings? I like the spces on this Dunlop.

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  2 роки тому

      If you still want a sense of control then I would tell you to get the Speed Pro (since it has a denser 18x20 string pattern). If you want some added pop to this Dunlop putting 3-5g of lead at the 12 or 10 and 2 positions should help with that. And then adding the tension to the mid to high 50s. It’s all just about personal preference and experimentation. But I would classify the Dunlop at more control than a speed

    • @henrikbecker1305

      I think Dunlop Srixon SX 300 LS 285gr. I tried Head Extreme. A bit too little control. This should be in between the CX and Extreme.

    • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a good question. After further thought the CX200 is a good option, I think the string j picked for the review was poor. The new Diadem Elevates are a really good option for a 98. You could also try the Pure Aero VS. incredibly headlight but allows for tons and tons of spin.

      I agree with ya! After revisiting the video I realize that a big portion of the uncontrollability is due to the string setup I was using but not the frame itself. • @10sjunkies74
      @10sjunkies74  2 роки тому

      I would politely disagree. As I mentioned in the video, I feel like I needed more weight on the racket to help me keep my swingspeed under control. The LS version would just make me have even less control with my swingspeed due to it being lighter than the normal CX200.
