For those asking.
$2,600aud shipped and taxes for the OEM package but I upgraded to Spoon components.
Mr Retro Central
Part numbers?
Where can I buy it?
hi .
where can I get that rear conversion kit?
$2600! Wow that way over priced. Calipers, pads, rotors, mount brackets, and lines should've been more close to $600 to $800
Good job on the installation. People usually get super nervous about working on their own cars.
I would avoid lubricating fasteners/bolts thou.
You know it’s in Australia when they’re barefoot working on the car 🚙 😂
Haha
Great video! Is this process similar for the old GE8 model?
Nice mod man. Dat pit bush tho XD
Awesome video thank you very much
The screws you use to put the rotor onto the hub, aren't actually necessary, as the wheel holds the rotor in place when it's done up. They're a convenience for assembly. Nice to have, for sure, but you don't actually need them. Where'd you get the kit?! It looks neat.
Hi friend, where did you get the disc brake kit and how much did it cost you?
Is the process the same for the GE8? The brakes is one of the first things I’d wanna upgrade.
Hello what's the part numbers for that backing plate and the cabiler adapter plate? They look like Honda parts.
We're very lucky here. My facelift automatic transmission GE6 comes with rear disc brake. Is that a Hardrace rear away bar?
Yeh mate thanks for this
Thought all Jazz/Fit had rear discs? My 1.5 here in the UK has discs and pretty sure the 1.3 has them too.
I need to do that in my 2018 honda fit sport ... where i can get it?
can i set to rear disk breaks on 2016 hyundai verna
where did you get the disc brake convertion
Where did you buy this disk break system
where can i get that rear brake conversion
Mate what suspension sets are you using
Hey I wanna do that to my civic 01 you think that could fit on my civic or do you any that could fit my car?
How do I get that brake kit my car is Honda Fit
You still got the rear breaks? Selling them?
Where did you get the disc brake convertion kit?
I also recommend you replace you proportioning valve now that you have rotors in the rear for you get the full benefit
Not a bad thing to look into, As far as i am aware though with my model and JDM RS model. The Brake Booster and Brake Master Cylinder are the same so maybe by chance the Proportioning valve is also but i do agree if i have Prop Valve for Drums with disc conversion it wouldn't work as well as having the right Prop Valve.
Thanks for bringing it up to me. I shall look into it.
Wingmantx after speaking to mechanic there is no individual prop valve, brake master cylinder has 2 metal lines that go into VSA box that sends metal lines to the correct corner. this VSA box looks to be the same across all models. Same size, location, connection plug. The only thing that needed fixing was handbrake. I had to tighten it a few turns. At first handbrake would pull towards the roof, now it does 5-7clicks firm and holds well.
40/40 proportioning valve from the Acura integra LS at the junkyard. Check out Kevronseye. He has a k series video.
i dont recommend you bolt the rotors to the but they just rust over time making it difficult to take off, don't worry your lug nuts and brake caliper will hold it in place. what did you do about your rear camber?
Jon Principe the stock tortion bar is -1 degree but Spoon make a special thing called a Rear Adjusting Plate that allows for more camber by installing the plate first before that brakes.
any website that i can ship oem to singapore?
What is the part number for the bracket???
what website can this conversion be purchase at? thank you
Can I use HRV Parts? Since I gonna use 5x114.3 wheels also?
I can't confirm fitment
Hey bro, may I ask why you needed new handbrake cables? Did you need to buy two cables or one? Also, did the hubs make your rear wheels stand out better?
Thanks in advance. I am going to do this mod to my Honda City GM6 which has the same parts.
Drum brakes have the handbrake cable hard wired so you need to remove the cables with it. The length was also slightly different so regardless it needs replacing. Make sure you get the right parts for your model.
Mr Retro Central thanks for your response. The Honda Jazz/ Fit GK5 has the same braking and suspension system as the Honda City GM6 so this is a modification worth looking into, considering that I'm either going to boost my engine or install a K20Z4 or K20A2
@mr retro central where did you get the hand brake cables?
How did you remove the drum covers in the first place? I have a 2017 fit and the cover won’t come off even when I release the hand brakes. Must the transmission also be in neutral? That’s the only thing I’m considering that I have not yet done. Let me know.
Yes it needs to be in neutral
Try beating it off with a hammer.
That's how my Toyota drums come off
You have to put screws inside the two holes in the drum, then you turn the screws then they should pop off. Two screws.
素晴らしい!
ありがとうございました
are you using oem GE rear brake kit or gk5 rear brake kit?
Raymond Chan what’s the difference? Cheers!
Where can I order the brakes?
Hello Im interest car ripper rear for Jazz GK 2017. I want change drum to disc break. Could you please invite me.
Hello friend, could you provide me with the list of part numbers?
Can you post the part list ?
Would this fit Ge8 body
No
Where can i get for gd 2004?
so instead of thread locker you put anti seize on your bolts? interesting.
Game Lard it was recommended to me by Spoon. They also sell the stuff individually. It comes in packaging similar to Colgate toothpaste.
i hate that i had to go on google+ just to be able to see that you replied to this. :( stupid youtube.
and thats interesting that spoon recommends that.
Game Lard tell me about it. Google+ sucks
is it okay to put wheel spacer after the conversion? maybe 25mm?
Bit excessive, might cause more damage and repair costs than just buying wheels that fit.
Mr Retro Central thanks bro..
no problem :)
Mr Retro Central sir do you have spoon brakes in front too?
Jaymer Jake Suguitan I don't have Spoon brake pads in front.
Where did you buy your coil over?
Cusco Japan
Can you plz give me the link did you buy online?
where you bought the brake kits?
Gaijin Garage
thanks
Possible conversion 4 lugs to 5 lugs?
with the right fitting center hub bearing sure.
Does this conversion fits a 2007 Fit??
Bionik Cruz no
Mr Retro Central thanks for your response. I happen to figure out the proper adapter for my 2007 American version Honda Fit. Got it from Hondafreak.com forum.
Where do you buy all your spoon stuff through?
KAVINSKY311 Gaijin Garage
Mr Retro Central awesome man I'm going through all your video now. You have awesome taste in your mods! I just got a jazz as a daily but I can't help the urge to mod lol. Subscribed!
KAVINSKY311 thanks for the Sub, Modding a Jazz is heeps fun :)
Mr Retro Central yea! Also with your full spoon exhaust is there much drone or is it nice and refined with normal driving?
do you need to upgrade the master cylinder?
Nah, they are the same in every model.
after this modification the abs problem or not?
mota motoba no problem
Parts list?
What this part of aftermarket brand ?
Toto Soebiyantoro it's OEM
Mr Retro Central tks bro
aren't those front brake hose you're using?
jason magpatoc no, the front ones are a different size and we're already installed on the car at the time of recording this.
Hey man, have you noticed any improvement in braking? Sounds like an obvious "yes", but I would imagine this would not provide a huge improvement considering most of the braking comes from the front. $1000 is a lot to justify to me :(
Circuit Dreaming a massive difference was noticed all round. It changes the braking dynamic. In my option it can't be measured because one is too different to the other.
nice armpit hair
thanks, i grew them myself
Not worthy
Pointless mod . 80% of breaking is in a front breaks .
Not a modification if it's factory, some markets cheaped out and gave us inferior drum brakes.
That guy is hater, he probably don’t work on cars.
ugh... dude, couldn't you have just worn a t-shirt so I wouldn't have to stare at your pits?
Summer in Australia is a B*tch
Where can I order the brakes?
