My Final Tator Job with My Boy...Before He Goes to College

- This has been probably the most emotional and difficult video I've made to date. I've broken down and cried many, many times while attempting to finish this video. As I type this we are preparing to send our son, Ethan, off to college. This video isn't about the job. Yes, another driver got caught by an outdated GPS and made a SIMPLE mistake. It happens. We help them out. .... This video is personal. It's about the time we spent together and how far he has come. I LOVE YOU ETHAN!!! May God guide and bless you in your journey!!!
Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

So many viewers are asking what Ethan will be studying. His goal is to continue on with diesel technology, towing and recovery and perhaps a bit of high performance techniques. Computers and electronic components in the industry are very complex. Hopefully he will come back with more knowledge in this area. We have always encouraged our kids to do what brings them joy in life. Following in Dad and Grandpa's footsteps seems to do just that. Thank you all so much for the love and prayers. We are so proud of our children whatever they choose as long as they remember to call God first and momma second.....EVERY DAY. 💖 God''s blessings on all.
Great to hear that he plans to stay in the family business at least for a while. Maybe tell Ron to pin your comment so it stays on top. Believe he can do that.
Wise words of wisdom Mumma Pratt, also the knowlwdge that Ron has passed onto Ethan his expertise of working the Tator and all that goes with it. By all accounts Ethan will be a huge asset to Midwest Towing. That is evident in this video watching Ethan do most of the setup to help this driver out of his predicament. All blessings to your whole family and especially for Ron's recovery back to full health. Before the internet was even heard of, when i was a teenager, all i wanted to do was operate a tow truck and drive the big rigs. That passion still stands today and it lives on in your youtube channel. Peace and Blessings from Gawler, South Australia.
Love the final line…God always first, family always second. God bless Ethan and keep him safe.
You seem to be a religious person and I like that. I like it when you say God bless. What religion are you. I'm Catholic and I appreciate your references to God.
Hi mom Pratt!!!! Great for him and may God watch over him on his journey!
Ethan learned more from you than I think he could learn in College he learn hands on
That track should have a sign at the start - Ron's Money Pit Ahead!
Call it Cha Ching turn around
I was just going to comment that Ron should pay that farmer a commission.....
Yes, Ron's money pit if you fallow your GPS.
There's a sign used in the UK for exactly this kind of road. It's blue, square, usually found at the entrance and reads in big white letters: "UNSUITABLE FOR HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES"...
In a world decaying quickly, it’s so wonderfully refreshing to see a man express such love for his son; and, the recovery was nice too!
I know that just a year ago he seemed like a gangly teenager, and now he’s almost full grown and ready to take on life as a man. I wasn’t prepared for the changes my boys underwent when they left home, ( one college one USAF.) But I couldn’t be prouder, and I’m looking forward to see how Ethan matures and grows! He’s in for a great challenge and a GREAT ADVENTURE!
Good fortune Ethan! Your parents gave you all the tools and now you fly!
Congratulations to you & the miss on raising up a good human. Congratulations & good luck to E!!!
PS thank you for not covering & showing injury accidents. My wife can watch w me. And she does enjoy watching you in action!
Nothing like quality father son time
My dad always called spending “quality time” as he sipped his 40 and we drove around doing nothing
@@tylerbrown8486 lol
@@tylerbrown8486 😂its different for different people you know
“Train up a child and when he is old he will not depart from it “ - you have done your part - best wishes to you all & God bless!
I got worried, I saw final job with the tator and thought you were getting rid of it, then i saw about your boy going to college, CONGRATS! I hope he likes it
I mean, if he wanted to get rid of it for a even bigger and badder unit i wouldnt complain. They make ones that are like 2x the size of that one. 😎
Ha ha ha. The only way Ron is getting rid of Tator is if he Retires or Replaces it. That machine has been wayyy too useful in too many situations to get rid of it :)
The only reason to get rid of this tator if when he gets a bigger one. XD And even THEN they should keep both for the REAL big jobs.
I had to read it twice also
Sam thing happens to me. LOL
They grow up so fast. Godspeed, Ethan.
in all directions
Figuratively and literally. I was as tall as my father by the time I was 11. But never made it past 6'2". Good luck to Ethan.
Congratulations Ethan and to Mr and Mrs Pratt!..
if Ethan is at least half the man you are, He'll be fine. Our Lord looks after His sheep. Hey Ethan, don't party too hard in College. And don't worry, your dad has probably done the same and worse :)
He's your baby, can't imagine the difficulty of him going off to school! He'll be back though, of that you can be sure! Be wishes to Ethan...and to Mom & Dad as they stand strong & proud!
Good luck Ethan . All the best at College .
The fact that he works with you and is headed to college says you and your wife did a great job raising him .
I remember him helping you at that exact spot as a young teenager. Kinda cool that it is his last one to help with while he is in college. He will surely help with many more after he comes back home. God Bless, the whole Pratt family. Good Luck, Ethan.
Enjoy college, put in the work and you will be rewarded!
Congratulations to your son
Ron, my wife, Sheri and I, have had to watch as two of ours went off to serve. It is always hard to let them go. God took care of them as we prayed daily for them. We will keep Ethan in our prayers. I have a grandson named Ethan. You are a blessing Ron to watch.
Have fun in college Ethan 😎
Ethan seems like a good young man. I'm sure he will succeed at anything he puts his energy into.
another friday, another cup of joe, and another video from Ron. Good luck Ethan!
Your Boy has Grown Up Quickly. He’s a Smart Young Man going to College. He’ll continue to Grow.
Be good in college Ethan my friend
Wow Ron… Talk about emotions… After reading your title & just thinking about what “all” was involved & taking place in this video, my eyes just started watering up… Before reading the whole description, I started the video and at the beginning, I could be wrong but I thought I sensed in your voice that this was going to be a VERY Emotional time for You with Your Son, knowing that this was going to be the last time you both will be together for a while… I had to keep wiping my eyes knowing what all was going on and what was ahead for everyone in the family… Wow… This video was very emotional for me; I can only imagine what this experience was like for You… You and Your Wife have done an EXCELENT job with him and by you sharing your life with us through these videos, we can definitely tell he’s a GOOD MAN…!!! Ethan… Very wise of you to go on to school like you’re doing… This is an exciting time for you but also not knowing the unknown - at first - could be a little intimidating but once you get into the grove of things with the classes and all, things will be better… You have such an awesome family who care about you deeply and this is a golden opportunity to learn about new things in life to bring back with you for the business…! We wish you well, study hard and keep us up on how you’re doing… Many of us who appreciate & love your dads’ channel will be thinking about you often and wondering how you’re doing… Hopefully Dad will update us every so often… In closing until we see you next time Ethan… Good Luck in school, study hard & God Bless… Ray & Susie from Pittsburgh… We Love You Man…!!!!!!!!
Best of luck Ethan you will do good let god bless and protect you every day i will miss you in Ron’s videos
God bless and good luck kiddo.
I recognized it when you told Ethan that it used to be Nash Road. My first reaction was Oh No, not again.
Great job as always, thanks Ron!! And go getem Ethan good luck with college!!!
One of the first videos I remember with Ethan, you had him shoveling out the trailer wheels to build a cribbing ramp. The customer remarked how impressed he was with Ethan's hard work, and how his teenager spent all his time just playing video games. Ethan, you have grown into quite a young man. I am confident you will do great in college, and throughout your adult life.
First, "Congratulations" to Ethan and his family.
Second, we all like to hope, kid, and joke about Ethan joining the family business, but most of us know that he'll choose his own path. As he takes this big step, we all wish him the best regardless of how he decides to proceed.
A nice little job for Ethan before he heads off to college :-)
How your son has come on, running that job pretty much on his own, thanks to a good (great) teacher.
Ron, you are excused the lump in the throat, your "little boy" is running off to places strange and far off.
God Bless you all
Wish him the best of luck!!!!
Good luck to Eathan. Hope you come back to help you dad when you can.
"The cash pit."
Yep, thinking that as you started. Old Nash Rd at the dead end.
Blessings to Ethan as he heads out for further education.
Ron is a great teacher and Ethan is fine son. Someday Ethan may take over the business just as Ron did from his dad. It's always a pleasure to watch a loving family work together.
They grow up so fast
Ron, from all appearances you have raised a smart, well mannered young Man. It will be hard when he leaves the nest but God will protect him and he will do well as long as he remembers his roots.
Congratulations Ethan! Ron, it's awesome to be able to have shared all these years of memories together. God Bless your new endeavor, Ethan.
Scared me for a minute....
Good Luck Ethan on your next adventure.
God luck eathen god bless u
Sorry about miss spelling the name
It is hard, but it is awesome to fledge and start to see the man he is growing into as God intended. Burst with pride and tears all you want.
Ya did good pops
Well, I'm sure everyone wishes Ethan all the best for his time at college, going out into the big world. He'll be a credit to you and your family, I'm sure. He'll be back before you know it! Stay safe out there, all of you.
Hoping he gets educated to run the business as 3rd generation!!
id say between his son and talon it will be around quite awhile
I’m
Lunch with Mr Ron again... Yum yum!
David in the UK.
We know you have done well as a father. Blessings as you transition with Ethan. Along with the worry, and missing his presence, be sure to take time for a little pride and joy, too!
You and your dad have built a great foundation for a 3rd generation Midwest Truck and so on. Glad he's taking it to the next level and keep the family success going.
Ron, as you talk about Ethan leaving home, it hit me strong. I know this feeling. My son is currently living in Texas, and I am far in Brazil. I wish the best for your son, and offer my simpaty for you.
Good luck in college, Ethan! Pratt’s you have so much to be proud of! God Bless!
Kinda bitter sweet situation, bitter he's leaving to start his own life, but sweet in knowing that you raised a wonderful human being who is strong, ready and more than capable of dealing with whatever life throws his way. Be proud of what you have accomplished and proud of the young man your son has become. Rock on Ron and Ethan you got this!!!
Old Nash “Money Pit” Road… and congratulations to Ethan for making it this far. May you make good decisions for your future, and remember where you came from.
wow, never been this early.
i remember watching the videos and seeing him when he was younger hes definitely come a very long way Ron you and your wife did a good job raising him
hello john
how are you doing
The money pit!
the old Nash Road route.(posted at 1 minute into the video )
one of your earlier videos with Ethan has him using a shovel to get cribbing out of the ditch right where that truck was at the end of this video.
Ron, I hope you went after antibiotics for the pneumonia, it really makes it a lot easier to beat. I fought pneumonia for a month without, still took 2 weeks of antibiotics to clear it up..
What is Ethan going to get his college degree in?
with regard to where/how your hands are placed on the steering wheel - as long as they are clear of the airbag section of the wheel so as to avoid having your wrist/hands broken if the the airbag goes off.
I put my hands in the same spot in my car as well
Semis dont have airbags
Don't wrap your thumbs around the wheel, as well, for the same reason.

Best of luck at College Ethan.I’m sure you will be successful in your studies, you have a great family and God with you to guide you. Ron. After my Father passed away within a year both my sister and I joined the military leaving my mum on her own, but her faith got her through the tough times. God bless Ron Ethan and your family
James, Thank you for serving our great nation to you and your sister!!
I am absolutely crying right now. God will watch over this young man and all your family.
Boy he sure grew up, last time I saw him, he was 15 now he's off to college. Sure going to miss seeing him working with you, may God bless Ethan and watch over him and keep him safe. God bless you and your family and crew 🙏.
My babies are 55 an 57. The 57 year old is a retired Fire Crew Captain. You never get through worrying about them. Sounds like Ethan has his goals well thought out. Congratulations Ethan.
Keep driving like mater
Ethan---enjoy your college years while you learn for the future! Hope to see you again involved with the family business too!
Ron u are an absolute gentleman, your son is so fortunate to have a dad who is a teacher and a hands on individual, hope your son learns all the tricks and finer points of your business, I hope one day when he is operating your business he addresses you like the way you address or communicate with your Dad.
You are a great teacher and Ethan is a great student. The two of you are definitely what we need more of in this world.
I remember the first time I saw Ethan in one of your videos. You were using the Tator teach him about angles if I remember correctly. We've all seen him develop as a person through his occasional appearances in various videos to the point where he has become a valued member of the team. He is now setting off on the next stage of his life, and when he returns, I am sure he will be a great asset for the business.
Wishing him all the best in his studies. Greetings from the UK.
I'll be thinking of your son! I had the same feelings when I dropped my son off at the NAVY recruiting office in 2007. It was hard, and thank the Lord, the boy got through it!!
Good Morning Mr Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & I Am Still Praying For All
Congrats to your son now he is off to college can't recognize the area 🙄🙄??
Son grillin' dad on how he drives! Had a good laugh. At least this job wasn't an event like the last one posted. Stay safe out there... you too Ethan.
There should be better signs to warn truck drivers about this road, but at the same time, it provides you a good income! Haha
"No Outlet" would be a good start! But I think Ron's crew keeps taking them to get more business!!
It would help if the GPS devices had better map data, and if people wouldn't follow them blindly.
There is. There's one that says "dead end"
Well done as always Ron and Ethan. Good luck on your journey to college! God bless
It was almost forty years ago, but I clearly remember the emotions I felt as my first left for college. The other two weren't quite as traumatic, but it's hard to give them up. Be proud.
Ron you and Your Wife should be so proud so to how amazing a young man Ethan has become with your love and guidance.
Good luck to Ethan on his new journey. Great video as always Ron. I definitely got tickled when Ethan was giving you a hard time about your hand positioning on the steering wheel.
Thank you for sharing these moments with your son, Ron. It's always hard when one of the children leaves the nest but it helps to remember you and your wife did the best you could at giving them a good head start. Looks like Ethan will be fine. My prayers for the best for you all.
Watching our kids leave the nest is not easy. Hang in there, Ron. Both of mine are grown and gone,
but thankfully not too far away. Its a big change for the whole family.
13:00 i was the first son to go to college, or the brazilian equivalent of it, i could see the pride and happiness on my father's eyes everytime he said to anyone "my son is on college!" I am deeply grateful for all his sacrifices over the years to allow me that oppprtunity, i can imagine how you feel like as a father! I wish him good luck on this new journey and to you too, Ron, keep up the good work.
Old Nash Rd. Maybe a sign..."If you go here and get stuck, your vehicles will be sold for charity."
Good fortune at college, Ethan!
You guys should be proud of the young man you have raised. Good luck and God bless Ethan in his next chapter.
Good luck in college Ethan! It's always good to have father/son time.
I wish you a speedy recovery. I am not a parent, but appreciate the difficulty in editing this video. Stay sage Ethan. God bless you both.
Goodness gracious! I am tearing up myself! It's hard to believe this new chapter is beginning for Ethan heading off to college. God bless the family as you start this journey.
He will do fine Ron ,it's hard to let the kids go, but you all did the best you could to get him this far. God bless you Ethan and good luck.
God bless the Pratt family!!! That was very special, sharing your personal life and memories with so many others. I too was almost cutten onions.
Watched this young man grow up throughout the years of videos. Let him know the viewers are proud of him and will be praying over him!
You are a great teacher on your trade. And is great to see you passing it on to your son. 👍I'm so blessed that my dad passed on construction to me over 30 years+ now. You are a great man Ron. Awesome videos always. Thank you. 👍🙂
Thanks Ron again for the wonderful video. We'll pray for Tator and your family while he is in college.
Wow what a proud and exciting year for you; becoming a grandfather and your son is going off to college. Nice to hear he is going to follow in your footsteps.
I think I recognize your location
It's great that you have this and so many previous video's with your son to look back on to remember your adventure's together.
The GPS story sounds like it gets common in your area. Bittersweet for you and Ethan. It never ceases to amaze me how you can drive backwards so well.
Ethan have fun while you go off to College. Learn all that you can about people, about your college course material and about life. Stay safe and make great decisions. I know a lot of people will be praying for you. I started my college journey 48 years ago,
Great job. They grow up so fast. Don't seem like but a few days ago he was just a little boy just riding around with you and standing and watching you work. Work at college like your Daddy has thought you and you will do good. Love you'll stay safe and God bless. Dan
Hello Ron. A perfect job completed by Ethan and your self....Ethan make your mother and father very proud of you during you upcoming college career. Be exceptional in college, study hard. God bless you. 👍👍👍👍
Recovering from Pneumonia as well, leaves me feeling like lost 2/3rds my energy. Thank you for you love of God and willingness to share, I know your son will feel Gods love as he heads off. I am in NZ with all my children and grandchildren in Canada so appreciate prayers that we can get back there soon.. God bless
Good luck Ethan on your college endeavors. Be safe, be smart. You will do well. Ron, I know this is a bitter sweet moment but you and your wife have done well on teaching Ethan what is right. Be proud.
Good luck at college Ethan. God bless you on whatever endeavor you choose to follow
College already! Holy smokes has it really been this long already i remember when that man right there didnt even have a spec of facial hair! Now hes bigger than me! Had to get that out, now back to the rest of the video!
Good luck Ethan at the next leg in your life at college, I know your family and friends will miss you being around and so will all of us on here be safe and drive headlong into the rest of your life godspeed bro.
Congratulations Ethan, always enjoyed watching you and your Dad working together. Good luck in your next chapter in college and hope to see you back in some videos in the future. You will be missed by your family and friends.
May God Bless Ethan in all his adventures in life. Ron it is easy to tell you and your wife have done an amazing job raising both your son and daughter. God bless your whole family!
Many go far away, like me USN at 18 years + 6 days and the submarine service a year later.
Good luck Ethan !! Great to see father and son working together, I have fond memories of my own !
