Amazing job Andris. I love the variety of things you do. Made me tear up when you mentioned your Dad, made me think of my own Dad. You are an inspiration my friend. -Craig
When I was watching your main house renovation video I was thinking that your Dad was watching down on you with great pride. Then in this video you confirmed that he was indeed proud of your work. Having gotten to work along side my father for a few years before he passed, I'd like to think he would be as proud of me as your father would be of you. Keep up the great work and I'll be along side enjoying your great content. Thank you.
I love to watch ALL of your videos Andris . Your sense of humour is great and the work you do is really impressive . I rewatch a lot of your videos too , and I love to take a sauna myself , very well done
What I read, is that green logs only need to settle and therefore in Windows and doors you leave about a 2 -3 cm gap, so when the wood dries it expanded. Maybe it also holds on old wood.
The Monier roof tile is produced very close to where i live in Norway. As a funfact; Sand that is used to produce the Monier roof tiles are from the same area and was also used to build the bridge from Denmark to Sweden. To get the sand out from the area they actually lowered almost the entire area and a lot of houses and farms as much as 30 meters down! I am proud on your behalf for all the work you do, and i am extremely happy for you that your beloved father got the chance to tell you how proud he was of you before he passed away ❤
As I am still catching up on older videos, it is absolutely amazing to see how this property and buildings came about. You, your family and friends did an fantastic job refurbishing this sauna; it looks amazing, inside and out.
Beautiful restoration on the sauna! It has a lot of history behind it. It is nice that you had ties with it when you were a child. You shared many memories with your father as you restored this place & it was very touching to hear that he was proud of you. You have earned that trust. You worked hard on this & it shows! Thank you for sharing your story with your viewers.
*- Wonderful review of this special gift bring well deserved pride to your father, Andris.* *- To stop a stove or fireplace from smoking, the general rules go something like this:* * Use shredded paper of super thin kindling to flash heat the chimney ceramics or pipe.* * Make sure the chimney or stove pipe is high enough above the roof line so breeze can provide sufficient drafting {suction/vacuum} on the stove/fireplace.* * **_Provide Direct Air_** pipe/ducting to the stove/fireplace from outside so a heat-tight, closed door room or house is not starving the fire for air.*
Another amazing job. Thanks for sharing that detail about your dad; such a blessing to have such fond, happy memories. Sorry for your loss. What a big job - especially without heavy equipment - good you had a lot of help.
I don't know how I missed this video, it was awesome, I really enjoyed it. I giggled as I saw your mom in there helping as usual, she must be a great lady. I have a newfound respect for you... I always thought you were a "trained" carpenter, as your current work is amazing, but seeing this and how you had to learn the skills necessary to rebuild a building blows my mind. Nicely done,, your father's pride in you is well deserved. Thx for the video
I thank work your doing is amazing saving these cabins ....this one here reminds me of one cabins I built with my father keep the amazing work up saving these cabins is wonderful historic homes and log cabins are my favorite
Same here. Theres so many abandoned log cabins all over the world that could deserve a second lease of life 👍 sadly alot of them are either burned down by vandals or just left to die.
Happy I ran across your site, you are an excellent craftsman, see why your Father was so proud of you. If I may ask, what is your regular profession? Enjoying all of your video from Ocklawaha,Fl take care
My neighbour ran a butcher’s shop and cured and smoked his own hams and bacon. Loved the smell of the smoker and you can’t beat the taste of real smoked bacon! Nice video, Jason.
When you were telling the story about your father it really brought some memories back . My father was a great dad but he was very reserved about his feelings. My dad loved me and he showed it all of my life but he just couldn't let his true feelings out and he never told me how much he loved me. He was dying of cancer and I went to be with him his last two days on 3 different occasions My father called me to his bedside gave me a hug and told me how much he loved me ,just before he died he told me how proud he was of me and said how sorry he was for not telling me how much he loved me and how proud he was to have me for his son. I was 64 years old and my father was 92. I will always remember an cherish those moments I had with my dad an now I tell my three grown daughters every time I see them or talk to them on the phone how much I love them and how proud I am of them. Thankyou for sharing that moment you had with your father.
Andris such a good video, even though you only had still pictures, it was still amazing to watch your endeavours in re-building the sauna. I have just recently found your channel and I am enjoying it enormously. Please keep up the brilliant work and videos.
Looks great! So this is where you got the procedures down which led to a great amount of confidence to do the 128 year old cabin. I have to admit watching the 128 year old cabin restoration made it appear you had done this before. Always an experience watching you work and restore things.
Love this video (as well as all your others) never knew I was so interested in bobcats, excavators, sawmills, ziplines and building restorations until I started watching your channels! Ummmm thanks for the videos!
Wow on the sauna video Andris , That was a massive workload for you all without any heavy machinery,,,,I thought i'd seen all of your vids but evidently not, .Hoping there are more lurking somewhere, i'm am going to search every place .Just keep doing what you are doing ,And you narrative of the whole job / project was faultless and utterly professional, thank you,, Pamela,, 💐💖
Another terrific video man! And yes definitely put together something about the main house. It'll probably end up being a 2 hour video but I'll watch it!👍
Man am I jealous of you guys in the colder climates. I sauna once a week but I'd do more if it wasn't nearly £6 a time. There's nothing more rewarding than to have a parent say to you that they are proud of what you have done. Well done bud and cherish that forever and also don't forget to pass that appreciation onto your kids (if you have them) or other people who help.
Great job on the sauna house restoration! Interesting how much you guys love the sauna, that you have an entire separate house for it. I think in the US, the hot tub (aka spa) is more popular than the sauna. Cheers!
Just catching up on past films Ants, think you dad would be proud with everything you've done an are doing, think he may also be smiling when you're fixing Supermuns ride on mower and building stuff for your nieces as well. Looks like he passed on some good family values. 👍
Of course we want to see a video of the main house. Really enjoyed this one and all the others you have made. I am very glad you preserved the old Sauna. It looks great. Makes me wish I could come and enjoy it. I also wish I could help you with your projects. I can see why your father is proud of you. You are very talented, hard working, and take the time to think things out and learn how to do it. Never be afraid to ask for help or offer it when others ask, as well. You may already know this I am not sure....once or twice a year (depending on how often you use the sauna) you need to clean your chimney. Especially if you burn a lot of pine or soft woods with sap. No matter how dry pine wood is it contains sap or rosin. Creosote build up is what causes most chimney fires if it is not cleaned out every so often. I know it's very hard to climb on that roof and run a chimney brush down it, but believe me it needs to be done.

Yes and yes i do share it with my mother and cousin, but they have homes of their own and stay here only on selected days. Glad you like the content :) total is just shy of 10 acers (9,78)
Fantastic restoration work done and what a nice location of the sauna! Looking at the video the sauna stove is super effective seeing the thermometer how fast it heated up the steam room... 🙂. Greeting from an Estonian in Sweden. Palju jõudu tulevaks töödeks ja häid Jõule Sinule ja su perele!

very good work here and it is a very good legacy that you will leave
The thing to swat yourself while in the sauna is called a birch whisk. Made from Birch twigs...tied into a bundle and dried.
Birch whisk! I know it was birch something but whisk? Lol i never would have guessed that. Thanks and happy holidays
Another amazing job.
Thanks for sharing that detail about your dad; such a blessing to have such fond, happy memories. Sorry for your loss.
