Thank you Jimmy, I am forever in debt to your priceless advice
Hey!
Wait!
I've got a new complaint
Im proud to say I was the recipient of this lovely box with locket necklace. I will always cherish this..thank you uncle Jimmy.😘
In a 100 years time people will pay millions for a DiResta original.
there's not a girl in the world that wouldn't like it if you made them something beautiful and handmade out of wood
I made my wife a stick. She didn't like it. I have the welt to prove it.
You're clearly the bandsaw master.... another awesome build
A girl opens the lid, takes out the jewel, and tosses the box. Priceless.
Advice
all I could think about while watching this. is the Nirvana song Heart shaped box.
+steven carter Ah thats what it was! When i clicked on the video, i kept thinking, "isn't there a song by that name?"
Wasnt his song Heart Shaped Glasses though?
Diresta you are like a Mad Scientist / Craftsman.
Thanks Jimmy I learn so much from your creations
What a sweet thing. The box is just as awesome as the gift that goes in it... if not more so. Lucky girl! All the best Jimmy D!
Wow! What a cool project. Really like how you used the off-cut from one side of the heart as a template for the other side. Experienced wood workers probably already knew that trick, but I didn't. Thanks for posting.
i love how the fat forward slow motion makes it look like an old Wallace and Grommet claymation
beautiful!!!! I loved! And the wax finish brings out the beauty of wood.
Absolutely breathtaking mastery of artisan skills.
Ive said it before and i'll say it again. That man is a wizard with a bandsaw
i love to see the finished box inside the offcuts. such a great contrast!
Thanks for sharing Jimmy. Just in time for Valentines Day too. I'm sure she'll love it.
If I had a band saw I know what I would be spending my evening doing. Great idea.
And now i can't stop thinking of Nirvana.. Damn it.
+Charlie Paulsson came here thinking the same think. now the song is stuck in my head.
+Charlie Paulsson Me too!
+Joseph Watson Did I miss something? I must have...
the most sanding I've ever seen Jimmy do
Awesome project, Jimmy! Really cool to see you carving the top and bottom with the bandsaw
well that's a Valentines Gift Box that comes from your heart :) it looks awsome!
This finish is awsome!!! Lots of prep work, but the result was fantastic.
Woah, I did not expect that colour to come out of that block of wood!
Sculpting with a bandsaw is always so much fun
That was awesome! I can't believe how quickly he put it all together.
Absolutely beautiful Mr. D. As always... you truly set the bar higher and higher each time.
HEY, WAIT! I GOT A NEW COMPLAINT, I'm forget in debt to your priceless advice.
Carving with a bandsaw?
this guy is so epic
Thank you Jimmy! Loved the shaving action on the bandsaw!!!! That's crazy man!!!!!
Made it and gave it to my wife. Said she loved it. thanks!
More idea's and not enough time to do them. Thank you Jimmy.
Very nice! Never thought to use a ban saw in that manner. Thanks for the video!
Absolutely beautiful.
I could watch that all day long! Amazing, excellent, superb work.
I just used the word "adorable" when I saw the mini old-style wooden clamps. I can't believe I said that. Your brother John would call me a douche bag LOL. Nice video -- again. I learned a lot. Be well. -Nick
Wow. That is gorgeous.
Hey, wait, I've got a new complaint.
+xereeto LOL
thought the same haha
Just in time for Valentine's Day :) looks good!
Jimmy you did good really like the feel of the hart design
That turned out rather good. The wax really brought out the grain.
At some point in every video I think: yep he ruined it. Then all of a sudden it's beautiful. Nice work.
Another nice project. I loved the transformation upon waxing. Also, I am glad you are finding even more use for that party dress.
Wow carving with a bandsaw! Awesome.
I just had a neat idea, imagine this. Take the cut out negatives, carve out a small nook on one side and hinge the top or bottom. Hinge and clasp the box so the clasp fits into the nook in the negative. Put the box in the negative and close it up. So you have to open up the negative kinda like a flower then un-clasp the box and open the lid up. So it opens up in three ways! I hope i explained that correctly. So on the desk or counter or whatever it highlights the fact its a bandsaw box. Kinda like each time you open it your re-making it, or exposing the box that was inside the wood all along.
So brazen with that band saw, I love it!
WOW I hope your SO appreciated that. Amazing!
oh lm am soo pleased to have found your channel what an awesome Valentines gift that could be !! you have a life time subscriber here ! thanks for sharing.
Excellent work, Jimmy.
Some real bandsaw magic on this one.
...no tengo palabras... Precioso, Genial... Saludos desde Barcelona. Catalunya.
Great project, fast and nice ! It's always great to see the way you build, that's a good source of inspiration. Thanks !
I like it, and your Maloof shaping technique on the bandsaw.
Really, really nice. As always. Cheers, Jimmy.

Love keeping the original blank to contrast the before and after.
Hey, wait, your work is amazing, guy.
In this video I was like "ooh, ohh, ohh, "
Beautiful !!
that's really nice. and no power sanding. wow!
Gotta get this off my chest. Who the hell hits the thumbs down on Diresta vids??!?!!
Honey... Thank you..
Opens box,
takes the neclace,
Throws away the box
-Better make a neclace next time :P
Wonderful!
simple and cool as diResta style...
Jimmy was this gift made to get David back from Giaco in Italy? Dude was having too much fun and I thought this was your early Val Day gift for him...Love and Respect.
I like 3:30 when it all slows down. He almost made a big mistake and broke a DiResta pencil. This guy is pro. I suppose if the pencil got cut he could have ended up cutting the piece he worked so hard on.
Super nice. Great work as always.
LOVE!
Amazing! It got beautiful!
beautiful
You know in the end where u have the cut out scrap of wood shape like a heart? U could put a hinge on it and use it like a display case for the heart box.
Great build Jimmy as always, but I wonder about the use of crushed velvet for the liner - I had been told that it was a bad choice as sometimes it can have a chemical effect on silver in particular but other softer metals too.
I've been locked inside a heart shaped box
What!? No Diresta stencil on the box? inconceivable!
lovely wood
Another amazing one!! Turned out so nice!!
Ahh the things people do for love!
Well done
Damn, DiResta using a bandsaw makes me moist.
Moral of the story for the fellas, make her something

+wypierdalaing hey, hey, I've got a new complaint. Forever in debt to your priceless advice.
Sherman Hartman No.
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap.
i love this dude
Beautiful box! In next videos, could you tell us the wood that you use?
Homeboy that's awesome... That lovely "tilt back" with the pencil whilst wiping the saw... What can be said?
Dammit, still no bandsaw on this side of the screen... need to buy one.
Me too!
+Markus Hoffmann I went and brought one a few weeks back and it's all Jimmy's fault.
+Richard Timms ditto and ditto.
Did you get one yet?
Nice! ^^ I would try making one for myself for valentine's
My fiancee said " AWWW but he didn't knife it or ice pick it at the end"
