What's up everyone! We are getting super close to Christmas day and I made a little wooden box that can be a present OR it can store something else inside like a jewelry piece or just a love note ;) This one is made out of maple, bubinga and leather. Hope you enjoy the video!
Merry Cristmas, its a pretty piece of art.. We need you to make us a teaching course that teach us how to use different tools and instruments you use in your work shop.. Its important for us to learn that, sweety. Following you from overseas, lol.
These look great! Do you feel like this method of joining the corners of the boxes would be strong enough for small boxes in the workshop or for storage of small items?
Just a weekend woodworker newbie since retiring. I won't live long enough to ever make anything remotely close to your craft but I love watching an artist work!
Hi Cristiana, Thanks for another super video. I really enjoy watching you making your things and this was a really peaceful video, no distracting music, just the sounds of the workshop. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
I seriously spent WEEKS of my life searching for that PERFECT tool you had in this video for making bevel cuts on small boards before realising what it was :P
Ahaha give it a try :) I always spend hours or days making stuff that I always think that could be done in a single day and this time I struggled hard and build this start to finish in about 4 hours with filming included.
I love that awesome project, God bless those talented hands that makes so beautiful things, with all respect, receive a big hug from my beautiful island at the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, tons of blessings!! Ray Ray
Hello young lady, I missed this before Christmas and am I sorry. The sound of the metal against wood is a joy to the ears. By the way you crafted this little box I could practically see the love of wonder in your eye's. the more project's you do, the more surprises you come up with. Is it possible for the basic sizes of the little one.
Félicitations ! Ta boîte est vraiment belle ! Tu travailles très bien et ça incite à en faire une. Probablement pas aussi belle que la tienne mais je vais essayer. Merci d'avoir partager ce beau talent 🥰
Absolutely beautiful! What craftsmanship, you are truly an artist! I have never thought of creating 45's like this. What an outstanding little box. Truly I am amazed at your creativity! Great all around
Happy to discover your channel. Very impressed with your planing skills. I have tried so hard to be like Roy Underhill or Paul Sellers but I am a crumby planer :). Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Beautiful work and will be loved by anyone who receives it but a suggestion. When cutting the sides etc, why not cut, side/end/side/end that way the flow of the grain rolls around the box. and has the lid cupped yet from the glue used to glue in the leather? generally wood tends to cup when you only glue one side. just curious.
Hullo little one, the panel you use on your thicknesser. Quick detail if you could spare an old woodworker. Thank you. Smashing little box and well presented by an up and coming young woodworker.
Hi ! I'm a french guy coming from the french DIY channel "les frères poulains". Amazing work, on the wood and also on the video ! You just won a new subscriber ! :)
Adorable! There's something about hand tools that makes me feel incredibly soothed-by-proxy. It's also vaguely inspiring. It seems so much easier to afford and get into. (Maybe not if you go for a full set of Veritas planes, but damn are they pretty.)
So beautiful job, I consider this a five stars product, ideal for an awesome gift to someone special!! Thanks for share your great talented hand's work with us, big hug from Puerto Rico!! Ray Ray
Nice job on the box, but I have a suggestion. Drill the hole after you seperate the lid and then the circle will be a perfect circle. I'm sure that's why you don't show the front of the box for more than a second when you are finished.
Can anyone tell me what that setup with the sideways plane is called? And do you set it up yourself or buy it “ready made”? I’ve seen a few on various channels that all look identical so I am wondering if it is something I can just buy as is? Thanks!

Not gonna lie, if someone presented me with this as a Christmas gift, I'd be really happy and amazed that it was handmade by them. Great idea.
So relaxing a video with only the sound of wood being cut...
A pleasant change instead of all the craptastic music.
Great video for ASMR! Lots of triggers for me. Love that it was mostly hand tools. Small is hard!
Nice job! and with only hand tools. That's a giant plane

Thank you so much Pedro! Glad you enjoyed this one so much :)

"Shooting Board"?
Love the mood music at the beginning, pleasant not obnoxious. Also love the process you show so clearly. Two thumbs up!
Nice, especially the leather lining.
You are a true artisan. Love the video with only the sound of tool on wood and music. That says it all. Have a blessed new year.
Very nice box. The shooting board miter cuts beats a table saw jig by a kilometer.
When people ask me what I build, I tell them I am a box builder. So many things we build are boxes. Great job on yours!
It's true! Have you watched my Planter Box video intro? ua-cam.com/video/qljyXD5rfSc/v-deo.html Ahah ;)
@@GetHandsDirty Yes, I have seen it. It is a great intro. I have watched all your videos. You are a wonderful maker and story teller.
You really overestimate my crafting abilities. I'd need to start this early November to have it ready for Christmas!
Great job, as per usual!

What is the jig called that was used to make the tiny 45 degree angles for joining the sides together? Can you buy one or was it home made?
