6:41 he answers the question. Why is Northern Ireland British?
Because we are Britishers. Or ancestors were all scotchmen, Englishmen or welsh. Thus, Ulster folk are ethnically bound to Britain.

Ulster folk including those of Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal? Also...Northern Ireland is now majority Catholic/Nationalist and Sinn Fein just got the majority vote in the last election. Northern Ireland is not British any more. The stats don't lie.

“Derry” is used by Unionists as an unofficial term simply for speed. Though everyone (even Irish Nationalists up to the modern era) recognised that Londonderry was the correct and legal term.

Ulster is and always was a province of 9 counties within the island of Ireland . 6 of these counties are under British control hence the 6 county state of NI.
Ulster is not British, NI is.

Bernadette Devlin told us that during the 'one man one vote' debacle she pleaded with the so called Reverend Ian Paisley to come on board with her as certain RC's were being denied a vote in elections his community members in similar circumstances were being denied it too. He wouldn't. My father from what is laughing called the loyalist community didn't have a vote in council elections because the farmer he worked for owned the house and we lived there rent free because it was part of the deal. If Paisley had got British loyalists to join in the protest instead of siding with establishment who denied many the vote it would have taken that particular wind from the sails of the PIRA and, perhaps, saved many lives.

Has no one told you that you are now a minority in the six counties and that those six counties are and always will be part of the Irish nation? The DUP will by their narrow minded bigotry bring the ceiling down on you as Europe and Britain no longer want your 17th century bullshit politics.

Educate yourself , the 9 county Ulster was an English invention for administrative purposes.
The clue is in the word 'county' .
As such it has no historical relevance.
The borders of the ancient Kingdom of Ulidia were around the area of modern day Antrim ,Down and part of Londonderry.
The people known as the Feni were from Southern Ireland, they were an itinerant race .
The people of Ulidia were called Cruthin by the Feni, Cruthin is the Gaelic word for Pict.

He mentioned in 1956 prosperity that is not any longer correct Éire is now light years ahead that the UK, and that Protestant majority is dwindling in Northern Ireland as is the influence of any interference by the Roman Catholic Church in the Irish Republic, things have changed utterly since he was PM today he would be a card carrying member of the DUP and his ancestors back in Scotland would probably be members of the SNP... That is reality a Protestant Government for a Protestant people was all very well in 1920, and Archbishop John Charles Mc Quaid running the then Free State, by the way Ireland has been a Republic since New years Day 1949 it suggests that we would ever return to the British Commonwealth, perhaps some Blueshirts down here might do so that horse has bolted... The Irish Republican Army does not speak for me either make no mistake either, there will be a border poll by the way to remind Michelle O Neill that she might not rely on my vote down here, no one asks the obvious question would people in the Republic of Ireland vote for unification, this is way more complicated than spouting out rethoric. Another 3,500 people mainly from the UK, Eastern Europe, Nigeria ect are taking Irish citizenship out in Killarney today, Ireland is changing going forward too, most of the British due to Brexit which blows the Protocol arguments of the DUP out of the water, its not 1920 or 1956 anymore and we are not all living in Kansas, Toto.

It would depend within which time scale it is asked. Once the real rulers of the Irish Republic, the EU, harmonize taxes, which they eventually will, and all the HQ's of the multinational corporations begin to lose their favorable tax status and leave to be closer to the center of the beast and things gently slide back to Ireland being a food producer on the periphery of the entity having lost status and the little corporation tax and jobs that came from the HQ's, the people of Northern Ireland may well think unification isn't such a great deal.
