As much as it was great to see how well they got on, I feel their relationship was largely symbolic and, once they were faced with harder issues of governance, I think their relationship wouldve become fractured. I'm almost glad we didn't see that happen as I did enjoy their friendship.

Pity that here in the 2020/2021 era, our Taoiseach and the other party he took to work with him have been bad-mouthing the ones who tried to make peace with the UK and started working on that, here's to hoping in the future they do not just bring up the past in an effort to save their salaries and seats in our here government, while they also deal damage to the relations between the two islands.
Lets hope one day they stop bad-mouthing and let many of us work to moving on and looking after the people as a whole.

What a great brother Ian was! And what a lovely man Martin became. The news reporter is unable to incite any nastiness or bitterness from Martin, so she provides some. The truth is that Ian was respected and loved by Roman Catholics because there was no difference between him in public and in private. I daresay the same may have been true of Martin.
