Thx , it works like a charm - Great video. Do you know how to zoom in on the map in mdf (Right screen, i am on cassena 172) i cannot do it for the life of me. The nob is not working nor the short cuts in controls menu. I have tried mapping to my controller no joy, and keyboard, but it will not work. In MFS 2020 i could use the mouse and a half circle arrow would come up to show me which way to turn it. That does not work now, I cannot see my flight plan. Also do you know to zoom out on the map in the tablet? I cannot do it or find any controls to do it. The MFS 2024 team have made a right mess of the control system.
@@1araabs Sorry, what I mean by zoom is move the cockpit camera forwards/back and side to side / up and down if my head moves this way. I suppose I'm wanting it to be like VR without the expense
@@ArcanePath360 Oh no, VR is something completely different. Tobii is just a regular tracker, without a headset. If I had to spend €275 on Tobii right now, I wouldn’t do it. Its price is roughly €75.
13:50 i mean, technicaly you have the G1000 so as long as u have ur IFR rating you can fly it IFR 🤣 But hey great video. Been thinking for a long time about the Tobi because i do a lot of truck sim as well. My end goal really is a propper VR setup that will work well but thats a while in the future
I setup as per your settings, my head gets tracked but my eyes are not being followed at all with this interface. I will wait for Tobii to issue a fix.
So you’re saying that I can’t use my Toby tracker and it was FS 2024 without additional software. Is that correct? Do you know when Toby will work with 2024 without additional software?
@@Petercrossed its doesnt say that! it says that msfs has tobii has native support no need for hub but microsoft hasnt resolved the whole issue with it, only the crashes.
The reason why it crashes to desktop is because there is no sensitivities panel with the seven sliders where you set your various ranges of movement. For the price we all paid for a tobii eye tracker, I expect that sensitivities panel to be added to flight simulator 2024 post haste.
wow, what a mess! I have the ET5, and it's worked ok in MSFS 2020 but it is a massive PITA in 2024. VERY disappointed with 2024 out of the box. It seems quite beta to me! Major hardware like the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo not working well out of the box - and configuration of hardware in 2024 is shall we say ANOTHER PITA!? NOT intuitive AT ALL! Come'on Tobii - get with the program, should not have to jump through 3rd party hoops, you had plenty of time to get ready for 2024 launch day... get it handled, please!!
You can basically get the same thing with a $10 app and a phone or a cheap webcam and a $20 software. They all use opentrack as the intermediary. Don't waste $300 on this.
@@MatthewMMG ye exactly but idk if you want to look places with your eyes imo thats what's vr's are for to experience that I dont understand eye tracking like the webcam thing is a really good option for that if you cant get a vr, but if you can instead of buying a 300 euro eye tracking thing thats useless imo just get a cheaper vr theres some vr;s that go for 150 or 200 and they do way better than this eye tracking thing
In my case I had a VR Headset and I had problems with motion sickness. Than I tried the cheap head tracker apps and the quality of tracking is okay but not as good as the Tobii head tracker. Tobii eye tracker as the name says plus head tracker.
@@danreis9614 Ye I get that like im not saying you shouldn't buy it for me tho I don't really find paying 200 euros plus for a head tracker is worth it hence why I just got the vr headset since that just makes sense
@@RN_SX you always need a beefier PC to run VR. Tobii eyetracker/opentrack and similar software/hardware provide a good compromise between VR and 2D experience.

Im using the MS2020 Tobii settings file which works perfectly without opentrack etc
another great video
I have tried using opentrack for over a year with my tobi eye tracker 5 and it CTD's every time I hit start using these settings.

Can this allow a cockpit zoom if you lean forward? If so then I might have to invest
of course you can zoom, same as trackir but without headset

@@1araabs Well looking at other videos, you can move your head all around and it moves you around in the cockpit.

Before purchasing, it is best to test it somewhere to avoid disappointment.

The Tobi Hub specifically mentions that Opentrack is required. It explains the steps to take as well.

@MultiHeadshot1 it’s just been resolved as a matter of fact :) Eye and Head tracking should be working. Let’s hope everything does fine!
@FlyBySimulations checked it it did not. Only the crashing is fixed. Opentrack still is the only solution yet.
...wonderful guide! However... I have no clue on how to turn off the eye tracking to leave just the head tracking. Can you enlighten me?
Test it, you will find thaT opentrack IS ONLY A HEAD TRACKER.
Thanks/ Islandsimpilotnis awesome.

The beam eye tracker does a better job as you can use your head.
IR5 is working fine... even better

They have done only the east part of the Grand Canyon. Disappointing.
I don't really understand the point of eye tracking it costs soo much why not just get a vr instead where it's a way nicer experience, idk
