    FYI this is a rescue sanctuary. These animals are saved from horrible situations. They often have been mistreated & are scarred mentally as well as physically. This animal has a prehensile tail that it uses to hang itself, upside down! So all good.

    • @miss0petersburg
      @miss0petersburg 9 місяців тому +77

      That’s not the point. Monkeys also use their tails but we don’t hide behind closed glass and carry them by the tail. This isn’t aggressive, you couldn’t get close to an aggressive animal. Exactly for that fact that they were abused and mistreated they need even extra love and attention. I thought that’s why people start rescues. These poor babies probably got taken away from mommy early and this definitely isn’t a look of a happy animal. Karen from Useless farm is actually aggressive and she still gets more hands on attention.

      @@miss0petersburg did it occur to you maybe this kind of animal or even specifically him, doesn't like to be held or grabbed at the body? He seemed perfectly fine and not stressed or hurt by what she did. She's the one that actually works with them. possibly bc of the trauma and the fact he's a wild animal he prefera this? No. You just see them holding the tail you assume its violence. Because your mind is self centered and ignorant. Your hearts in the right place but you need to start bringing your brain with it babe. And maybe then you could actually successfully run a rescue properly or know how.

    • @drewhempwood2113
      @drewhempwood2113 9 місяців тому +296

      She sits at the door to give him the opportunity to freely give his tail and go up to the door. She often does this; so if he hated her grabbing his tail this way he wouldn't let it stick into the door every time. He also would have reacted in some way which he didn't react or run away or resist at all. If she caused him pain he would hide or try to bite or vocalize. None of that happened. Next time, like I said; the heart is a powerful thing but if you run around using ur heart as logic as u just did; you're gonna demonize alot of angels and miss alot of reality. Good luck.

    Years ago, kinkajou were sold in pet stores in Washington DC, my mom and dad felt so horrible for these beautiful creatures that they took two of them home and raised them from babies. when I was born to up to two years old, the kinkajou became very protective over me.
    Fortunately, a ban on owning them without being a rehabilitation center, my parents who were wildlife rehabilitators, but did not have a rehabilitation center, relocated to the National Smithsonian Zoo in Washington DC where they lived their lives out and as they got older, I got to visit them quite frequently. My parents name is still on a brick near the enclosure.

    Bless your heart for rescuing all these animals. I did what one should never do. I bought an exotic pet without doing any research first because it was a baby and adorable. That pet was an Umbrella or Great White Cockatoo. Fortunately I was willing to put in the work and learn everything I could about them and how to care for them properly. Parrots of all kinds, but especially the different cockatoos, are a lot of work. You can’t just put them in a cage and feed them seeds. If you do you get a very socially unadjusted and sick bird. After all this research and putting into practice what I had learned with my parrot I began to look around and see all the parrots that were being neglected, abused and abandoned because people didn’t realize how much work they were, how long they lived (they are a lifetime pet) and the novelty of owning one had worn off. I now rescue parrots most of whom are a cockatoo of some sort. Cockatoos are very social and needy birds which is why they are the most abused and abandoned parrots out there. You however rescue so many different kinds of animals that require such different and specialized care. My hat is off to you. Well done.

      Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption, can be financially and mentally draining. Rewarding for the caregiver, but sadly under appreciated by many.
      It's truly a gift to be able to help these animals in dire need, and see some, able to manage on and flourish, in spite of what mankind has done to them.
      You have my sincere appreciation for everything you do, and please know... those difficult heartbreaking cases and moments of joy, are why the Lord placed you there 🤲 for them❤️‍🩹 in those moments!

      @chandarussell 9 місяців тому

      @@gooseii so I take it you have never owned a dog, cat, guinea pig, canary, budgie or whatever? Because they’re not things either. Almost all exotic and native pet birds in the pet trade have been bred in captivity for nearly half a century now. It is against the international CITES laws and illegal to take/import any sort of parrot from the wild anywhere in the world. Of course there is still trafficking in wild life happening but you rarely see those birds in pet shops as all birds have to be identified with registration numbers. That’s what the metal rings on these birds legs are for. Every single parrot in my rescue has one of these on their legs and everyone of these parrots is also born and bred in captivity as were their parents, grandparents to at least fifth generation back or longer. None of these birds would ever survive in the wild. There are thousands of these birds out there and they need to be cared for no matter what. They deserve that. I happen to agree with you that no animal today should be taken from the wild which is another reason research should be carefully done on any animal you buy including dogs and cats. The number of puppies and cats that come from horrific breeding mills is staggering. You care about animals? Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and start doing something about animal mills and wildlife poaching by stopping this kind of cruelty in your own backyard before you start criticizing others.

Most People that have sanctuaries and/or animal shelters are helping to save the lives of many animals and get them out of bad situations. I myself have a routine with a very aggressive ruffed lemur, and just like in this video, all seems calm, but if I broke from the routine or tried something different, I would probably get mauled 😂 and then some days they are just extra grumpy and decide they wanna fight regardless if you're doing everything right... She knows how to handle him and he trusts her, plus they have a routine he's used to. I guarantee that if she steps outside that routine or someone he doesn't know as well tries to handle him he'll get mean fast. All her kinkajous are rescues and most have trauma before they came to her, aggression is a very common reaction to that

      @ceekat7134 hers are rescued from people. Most were raided in captivity. These are social and generally calm natured animals. So they kinda do make good pets in general but vet care is hard to find and cost is expensive. These are spoiled and most have never been wild. They don't know anything but people. Soft blankets and not having to hunt for food. They wouldn't last a week in the wild. She takes thes outside and they will scream to come back in. I suggest you watch her specifically and not worry about what I know about the wild versions of these animals. That irrelevant

    Aww cute fella! Oh wait: "Kinkajous have canines comparable to a cat, but much stronger jaws. They can tear through skin, muscle, and into bone as easily as you can eat a sausage. Nerve damage and infection are almost certain. Bites are not a case of IF but WHEN. They will either latch onto a selected body part and lock their jaw like a needle-studded vice, or they will relentlessly bite you repeatedly over a larger area. Either way they are tough, fearless and extremely hard to deter or detach."
