    For years we ate lunch at Marina Jacks, owned a condo off of Lido Beach, and enjoy visiting St. Armands Circle… all in Sarasota area…. I had an office in Sarasota, but lived in Greenville, Ohio… we kept a 36’ Cruiser on Lake Erie, and I am a private pilot…. Needless to say, I find all of your videos very interesting… Thanks for sharing! and Safe Travels! John & Marcia Kelly

    Marina Jack has an awesome restaurant. Every time we fly into Sarasota we have lunch there.

    We live just off the intracoastal in St. Petersburg.
    Actually sad that you pass through this area so quickly, there are some beautiful harbors and anchorages in the area that are not to be missed.
    We likely will start the loop in 2025, but plan on taking at least parts of 2 years, if not 3 to do it.

      It truly is a wonderful area. In two loops, we just scratched the surface of some great cruising areas. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Sam & Rev

    Welcome to marina jack. I missed seeing your boat from my balcony across the street on the 15th floor and was even on the lookout for you. Another opportunity lost to meet you both. Brett

    Hi Sam and Rev, Another Great one. It was nice to see Tampa Bay again. I was Stationed there back in the early 90's and had a 32ft Trojan back then and was all over the Bay. It is something to see. Thank's for sharing it with us. Happy Travel's and stay safe. Capt. Mike "Rita Mae 3".

    Y’all leave out the best part. The marina approach,docking and getting tied up.

      We try to do that if we are not too busy, but only if we have time and it doesn't conflict with crew coordination or radio calls. Well try to do better in fact we just docked at Clewiston and captured it all, so be patient with us and thanks for the feedback 😎

    Two years ago, we spent Feb. in Venice and went to the Ringling Brothers winter headquarters (now a museum) and it was a fantastic way to spend a day. Just awesome!
    Very highly recommend. On the hard, Ed

    What a super smooth ride that was. Goldie Locks trip, not too busy, not too far juuuuust right. 🙂 Hope you guys are enjoying that sunshine. Don't let it be a spoiler for an up coming video but are you guys going around the south tip of FL or crossing Lake Okeecobee to hit the east coast of FL? Be well, smooth flows and best wishes.

    My father used to live on Anna Maria Island. Yes, the navigation along the intercoastal can be tricky with the reefs right next to the channel. The restaurant at Marina Jack's has great food, also with a lunch/dinner cruise if desired. 😋

    I remember renting a boat on the ICW Near Tampa St. Pete and and you would be in the channel in this large body of water and you look off to the side and 20 feet away there is some bird walking along. It gets that shallow that fast.

    • @WhatYachtToDo
      @WhatYachtToDo  2 роки тому

      Oh yes! We saw that same bird a few times! 😂

    Ahhh, no. I will probably check in on your progress, but I would absolutely not take a trip on navionics and apps. I have made the trip you just made, as far as North Carolina, and my friends continued the rest of the loop. Personal opinion, you always have paper charts as back up, parallel rules, a well maintained compass, etc.. GPS and all of those frills are sometimes unavailable and you do not get to choose when.

    • @WhatYachtToDo
      @WhatYachtToDo  2 роки тому

      Yes, in a perfect world that would be optimum. However with three redundant, independent nav programs, not necessary. Even the airlines went electronic five years ago. Paper charts are hard to get as well. 😎

    • @CJrun
      @CJrun 2 роки тому

      @@WhatYachtToDo Worlds that are closer to perfect are available. You will probably make close to 100 miles a day, so stop by in a couple of weeks. I can hand you charts and all of the Weems & Plath stuff as you pass by. It may already be too late, but if you are going the Okeechobee route instead of Marathon, please look closely at the weather. Okeechobee is already a problem because of the depth at the big turn, but if the wind is going to be from the southwest, you could be in breakers at the lock. Peace, safe trip.

    You two seem like delightful people. I have watched a number of your videos. This is just really boring stuff. LoL. There is value, however, if someone is going to do the loop. Stay safe. Oops, I forgot. Boring almost always translates to safe. 🤣🤣🤣
