Can I use a regular Jeep Grand Cherokee key fob for a spare or does it have to be the one with SRT on the back of the fey fob ?

$45 is cheap, dealers in cali charge 120 and up. It's a one hour charge and no other program except the original manufacture can program them
Any locks.ith can program them any reputable locksmith

For a 2010 Dodge Nitro.. My dealer wants to charge $500 for one key, same with the Acura dealer.. so I bought an Xtool D8 scan tool and I've already made double keys and fobs for 3 cars now. lol.. It has already paid for itself.

Hi I just switched my key fob to the hellcat one and it works to lock and unlock but it won't start my car. And ideas why?
Ferny Squirny You bought an identical FOB, swapped the guts, but it won’t start the vehicle? If the other buttons are working then then your push to start should work regardless since you’re not touching the fob. All it needs is to be within range. Did you mean remote start? Could be the button.
@@EastCoastJeepSRT ya I switched everything into the new red one but the remote start and the push to start won't work either. It'll just lock and unlock the car it's weird. It'll catch spark but it won't turn over

Dude I tried this but the top left corner there’s it’s melted or attached I almost bend the left top corner I stoped it’s a 2019 my doesn’t have hole in left hand corner like the one u show ????

@@ceylonunique3045My 20 scat had it. it's just a little black glue on top of the post and hole. I used fine pointed tweezers and got under it and the little glue cap popped right off. Then I was able to take guts out no problem.

my black post/peg on the top left is like fuse welded, was yours like that? I have a Chrysler but its like they melted the top of the peg to mushroom the top of it so now it won't come out, I'm scared ill break the board so I don't want to push up from the bottom with a screwdriver to hard. let me know is anyone else is like that and how you solved the issue
I had the same on my 20 scat pack. I just used tweezers with the real sharp and small points and got under it and popped it off. Its a little glue cap on top. The post under is fine. The glue wasn't that strong. Didn't damage anything. doing it.
I'm interested in doing this I have a dodge charger SP 2016...anyone here done it yet? Lol I'm afraid of messing up my one and only key and being stuck having to buy new one. lmk! Lol awesome video
It’s super easy. The board comes right out.
Just did this with my 2019 Daytona 392, easy swap. Definitely frightening for me, however the end result was definitely worth it 👍🏻

Came with the board. Had to pop it out. Probably someone had an extra key and sold the car and forgot to give it to the new owner. You can find them on there.
Why are some srt hellcat logos black and some chrome?

I got it from eBay. Search for Hellcat red key fob on there, or Trackhawk key fob.

Just fyi for everyone getting excited, the method he's showing can damage the board and you won't get the horsepower boost you're thinking of. You need to get it programmed for that.

This also has nothing to do with horsepower smfh. It just gives you the key fob shell.
