    Since it Ac vent mount will the cool moisture from ac vent does it create problem for the internal parts inside wireless pad and the iPhone becuase of those ac vent cooling moisture?

    I have the old model before this buff looking one. If you use the Apple Smart Battery Case the phone is heavier so it's best to use the rectangle magnet the problem is with the weight it wears the piece easily but this newer one might be different

    Just got one of these. It's boss!! Going over bumpy roads and pot holes, doesn't even budge the magnetic connection. I 😍 how easy it is to just grab my iPhone and go when getting out the car...

    Wireless charging won’t work with the metal attachment on your iPhone 8 also the vent thing won’t hold on a vent it will eventually fall

    I’ve been using a magnetic case like this on my iphone 6s plus for about a full whole year when I started to realize it fucked up my compass. My phone can’t even rotate automatically i need to rotate it manually using assistive touch every single time for movie/games purpose. So yeah I won’t repeat the same mistake on my iPhone 11.

    Didn't see anybody mention this yet...but can the mount be ROTATED to align the edges and text? Having the Spigen logo off kilter like that would drive me bonkers!

    Not working with most of the actual Mercedes Benz models because it is hard to attach due to the structure of the ventilation slot.

    Phone will sit straight upright on the magnet, if you get sun reflection you won't be able to tilt it away.

    They all work good.. unless you live in New England where the road aren't smooth, then you have to be ready to catch the phone from falling .

      I also live up here, and what I don't like about them is winter in general. My car has vents, but it doesn't have a secondary switch to control which vents are on/off. So during the winter, if I have the heat blowing, and the vent is open, then its blasting heat, which is NOT ideal for a phone, especially if you are also using it as a gps.

      agreed, that is the other issue. Wish car manufactures would come up with built in phone holder into the dash, won't look any worse that the after thought tablet sticking out of the dash as many have gone too in the last few years.

    Keeping it on the air vent make the phone go super cold with the AC on. Recently I have seen battery degradation on my iPhone, don't know if that caused it! 🤔

    Hey Jeff, what if you want to take it out, does it leave residue? Can you maybe just use it without taking the paper off? Just place it in there.

      Stick it to the case (as shown), not the phone -> no residue on the phone. Without the sticker, the metal might scratch the phone.

      That's not what I asked, I mean can this be used without taping it to the case (or phone), and still use transparent plastic so it doesn't scratch it. That way I can reuse it.

      Federico Goldsztein it may leave residue depending on what kind of glue it use. To clean the residue is pretty easy by using WD-40, residue will melted and very easy to rip off by paper towel or tissues.
      FYI WD-40 contains just a little bit toxic component, so wearing a pair of rubber gloves will be safer.

    Forgot to mention that the vents cool your iPhone with the A/C on! With regular suction cup phone holders, your phone just bakes in the sun while the battery is also charging

    You neglected to say a word about its capability to securely hold when actually driving. Is the magnet strong enough to securely hold your phone during real time driving conditions? Potholes, RR tracks, etc.

      From my experience, yes. Granted, I rarely encounter any major potholes where I drive. That magnet is relatively strong. Keep in mind that I only tested it for a couple of days, and this isn't an in-depth review.

      9to5Mac You're lucky! I live in western PA, highways and secondary roads here are in terrible shape. I can't see that magnet being strong enough (especially if it's placed on the inside of a case) to securely hold a phone under certain rough road conditions.

      @@tcconner7388 hell yeah for western pa! I use a sticky/washable reusable suction mount to the flat top dashboard. I don't trust these magnet mounts yet. I just take it off when not in use and no marks left on the dashboard in over as year so far

      For my last phone I actually used a dremel to grind the plastic case down very thin where the metal plate attached. Wrecked the inside of the case (!) but the magnet was strong enough to hold fast.

      CT I understand the magnet on the dock does, but the piece that goes on the phone is not a magnet, it's just metal. What I want to know is will I need to take that piece off every time I want to wirelessly charge my phone.

      +CT the magnets are not on the phone, so they do not impair charging. The metal plate will impair it however. So this might not be the right solution for the proposed wireless charging of iPhone 8.

      not specifically this brand but if you're really interested and have the money, Mophie has a battery case with their so called "Force Hold" and a similar car mount like this that also charges the case/phone at the same time.
      edit: they call it charge force, my fault, it's a wireless charging case and the vent mount is the charging pad.

    Have to believe these magnets affect the internal compass on the phone. Has anyone ever done actual measurements with the magnets ON and OFF to show they have no effect?

      @@rohansomanna6239 Hi Rohan, No, not being sarcastic. The iPhone has a compass (and a compass app). It uses that compass to help navigation. On the Apple Support Website it specifically states that users should be careful to avoid placing their phones near sources of magnetic interference as that can impair the functioning of the compass. I previously commented to you and included the link to this article but that caused the comment to be rejected. So I've rewritten the comment here without the link. I hope this clears up any confusion.

      In my experience, the big rectangular plate definitely affects navigation, the smaller circular plate, not so much. No actual measurements done by me of course, but speaking out of experience - I use google maps.

      Khalid M.D.: It's very secure. I've never had mine shift at all because of how strong the magnets are. If I were you, I'd get the Kuel H12 instead though.

      I'm using it in India which has one of the worst roads on the planet and trust me I haven't faced a problem that the phone has fallen off when the car goes through even the deepest of potholes.

    isn't a car vent a stupid place to put your phone? i mean it's ok when cold air comes out, but in the winter? heat is death for a battery

      why would you have heat coming out those vents during the winter? If you have the defroster on, the heat goes to the windshield and not out forward facing vents

      Even with the vent "closed," heat gets through. It's not a hermetic seal by any stretch. You need to shunt all the heat away by using the floor vents only. If your working your phone's processor hard, such as when using it as a navigator, and also have a warm area behind the phone...Not good.

    Big or small, thin or thick, Magnets are not friends of your smart phones, Period. For time being, they may be convinient, but in long run, No.
    If you don't want to ruin your 1000$ phone over a 0.01$ magnet, stay away.

      I've been using an Aukey magnetic car mount for four years now. No problems on my OnePlus 3. It's not an issue. Don't fear monger over things you don't understand.

      @@Lucky8s do you actually have an idea on gyroscope sensors, electromagnetic fields and rest of sensors and electronics in smartphones and how do they all work? I suspect that since you seem pretty happy sticking up your smartphone on magnet but that doesn’t mean that anyone else has to do the same.
      Try researching sometimes before you turn into a keyboard warrior 😃 👍🏼

      Here's my advice. Educate yourself and research topics before you make false claims about them. Weak magnets like phone mounts won't damage your device. Some of the more expensive phones have magnetic shielding to protect against strong magnets. Apple's iPhone 12 MagSafe is a perfect example.
      If you're going to get offended over a little criticism, you should get off the internet Ahsan. This isn't a place for the weak.
