i really don't like magnet mounts, but if you do, i would suggest those that are also charging your device, i like those ONE TOUCH mounting solution and for charging i would use that microusb adapter + magnetic cable, or even the Put2Go 3 in1 charger something... and the most important thing that the mount should DO, it's NOT to vibrate or to fall down !!!!

i usually refrain from the ones with sticking on the windows. that sticking on windows like suction cups don't really last long. overtime they'll get dusty and doesn't stick anymore. or they do stick but after some time while driving they fall off. for phone gps, i go for the steering holder, just be extra slow and careful at turning junctions so that you won't miss it. for car camcorders, i go for clip ons at the rear view mirror
What do you think is best for scoping? I recently got a Cuxwill holder with a long arm that stuck on the dash. Unfortunately, it blocked the displays on my car for trip computer, volume, air-con etc and it vibrated too much when driving and wasn't very steady. My phone also came out a few times which isn't great. And the final thing is altough it had one of those ball bearings to allow the holder bit to turn the base of the arm clamp would not rotate to give better viewing options. I sent it back to Amazon. So, for now, I am back to using my Ugreen vent holder which is very steady, but unfortunately, I can't scope with this.

Velcro is the easiest way to "stick" a phone or whatever, to whereever. I bought a 15 foot roll of industrial strength Velcro a few years back, have used it for many things, and still have about half of it left over for future ideas.

I'm considering getting a new car mount for my HTC One M8. I've never been a big fan of the suction mounts just because they tend to constantly pop off, which can be especially bad when driving. What makes these better than any other suction mount. I like the idea of the CD player mount, since I never use it. The M8's metal casing is already magnetic. Should it be enough for these magnetic holders, or would I need an extra magnet on the phone (I prefer not to)
Ofc suction on front window better, but over time it may come off and it will be really annoying. Not too good with phone if long trips and covering when heat or ac on for air vents
i am a truck driver. i need a hands free device, i run my truck GPS off of my phone. i have an app that is made specifically for trucks. i have bought two different mounts and both have fallen apart. i need one that is going to take every day use, "professional grade" if you will. the less expensive ones just fall to pieces after 2 months of use. im complicating just getting some velcro.
RAM mounts are probably going to be your best bet. Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Yes. You can customize them to your liking. I have one with a suction cup and x-grip. Cost me around fifty bucks.

Andrew Donohue honestly if u can get the Velcro to stick well that would prob work longer than any cheap plastic or find something made of real metal? But keeping the car mount stick somewhere might be harder too, especially if it’s metal cause it’s heavier
I can't use most car moounts because I have a zerolemon case that acts as a extended battery. it's a brick, large, heavy. magnets just slide off from the excessive weight, most clips won't grab the huge case, and the ones with ball joints just sag downward and point down at my floorboard. I can't find one that holds large heavy phones.

Panavise.com they have some very sturdy phone mounts. They are typically more expensive but they are sturdy and do not occupy any of your vents. Nor do they need to be mounted on your windshield.
I personally prefer suction but most people will Prob prefer the the fixed ones. Also the suction will not work on your dashboard if your dashboard has a grainy texture, it’s needs to be smooth. But of course it will work on windshield and windows.
The one on the steering wheel is ridiculous and probably illegal lol. I have the wizgear magnet vent one and works very well, only downside is the metal prongs scratch the vent but I don't really mind.

You don't have any problems with the magnet? I used a magnetic case for my Nexus 7 and it stopped rotating.

As per my experience that sticky plastic on the mont will melt and not stick on the hot sun of Texas summer

Can you recommend a dash cam that does night vision and well enough to read the license plate numbers?
The issue with magnet car mounts is if you have the metal plate on the back of your phone you can't use the wireless charging feature on your phone.

Spends hundreds of dollars for the phone but go cheap on the mount. Makes all the sense in the world!
The problem is you then can't use wireless charges with those metal plates behind the phone.
Christian Castaño stick it to the case, then take the case off when your going to use wireless charging.
