I think you nailed it. For me the 698 is the perfect second bike because where I live we have super bumpy twisty roads and it’s the perfect bike for tearing round and having fun. The 950 would feel fat and too serious on those roads by comparison. As an only bike or on bigger, better roads the 950 would win for sure. Horses for courses! Also - with the Termi that you like so much /s the power to weight ratio is pretty close! 😎 Great video as always. 👍

I had a 698, and the ‘ticking’ noise from the engine was unbearable. The constant gear-changing was a pain on the road too. Yes, it’s lightweight and fun for about 15 minutes. I now have a 950 SP, it feels like a motorcycle and not a toy. The torque is impressive and it’s a delight to ride. The 698 would possibly make a good second bike, in many cases, but as an ‘only bike’, I think you’d soon miss a bigger bike.

I did Willie's for a couple of months when I first got my hyper but then I found out that a Willie ticket cost almost $700 and can be written up as either reckless driving which is a felony or exhibition of speed which is a misdemeanor. I still do little Willie's here and there but I don't do dumb shit anymore. Back in the day on my KLR 650 I used to ride a wheelie getting on the freeway and I would use my blinker the whole way until I got in the fast lane and dropped the front wheel.
