@hypermotardking just finished a ground up nut and bolt rsupermoto build of my Husky 510. Between that and a Nuda 900 my hooligan bikes are kind of covered. .Multistrada and VFR 1200 have everything else covered. BUT I still have room for a Ducati enduro in my life 🤙👌

Loving your videos - very helpful as a new owner. Are you not concerned about leaning the bike out too much with a free flow filter and exhaust without an ecu remap (like the Termi system has). I’m tempted to get the Termi just for peace of mind and warranty. I agree the Austin end cans sound great though.
@@simonsmith6508 Thanks - Not at the moment because it’s only end cans. It’s still got the stock air filter but just the lid removed.. the Termi has a decat hence the need for a flash - but Ducati/UpMap flashes are always rubbish so even a Termi system will benefit. Warranty is all who you know in the dealer network.

Getting 1000km service this week and my dealer is advising me to get the Termi but I’m going to wait and see if your results match vcyclenut’s - then it’s a no brainer to go with the filter / end can. I’d be really good if you compared the stock end cans to the Austin. No pressure!🤣.
@@simonsmith6508 the plan is to compare stock vs sprint.. stock vs end cans (SC & AR).. and then it all on together sprint, open lid & end cans

I've owned about 10+ Ducati's including both a Hyper 939SP and 950SP. Had my 698 Hyper turn up today at the dealership sight unseen and it was the first time I have ever turned down a sale on a Ducati. I'm sorry but the build quality on these is absolutely trash compared to even a 950 Hyper. It's like KTM quality (chinese garbage), at italian prices (expensive). My dealer didn't even argue with me, he just agreed and he said he would send it back to the warehouse. Pretty sad day to be a ducatista.
@@PLAYER2035 Which version did you order.. base or RVE? The components on the 698 are much better than a KTM, and being a new bike I agree some of the build plastics could be better 😂

@@hypermotardking yeah i just think even side by side with a 950 hyper, the fit and finish is cheap and nasty. I just couldn't bring myself to actually spend the money on it, despite ordering the bike in etc.
The KTM 690 is made in Austria, so I’m not really sure what you’re going on about?
not owning one yet, does it "need" a brake upgrade?.. or more of a "nice to have cause i can" upgrade i was under the impression the brakes were pretty impressive stock
@@maddan_78 You’re right.. This bike doesn’t need it.. stock is good enough.. but bikes are always personal and for the cost (which is way cheaper compared to an exhaust) I just like the look of this. It will be getting a battering round the uk track next year when the season opens
@@hypermotardking oh for sure... braided line is always a good upgrade, and def nice to remove the loop.. i'm curious about the benefit of replacing an already brembo caliper with a different one that's all.. (does look good though... no question there ;-) )

Looks good. I’ve been browsing brake upgrades for the 690. Whether just pads or calipers. Got to keep the loop though. Proper SM’s have loops. Lol😂

Here in Canada, I might try the FIAAM 7211223 (Freeway Blaster - 405 Hz Low Tone) for CAD$20 vs. the CAD$65-$100 prices I'm finding on the Denali Soundbomb Mini. FIAAM's greasy marketing spec an output of 133 dB "at 4 inches" -- equalling Denali's spec of 113 dB at 3 feet. Seems there's no CE standard for rating or testing horns, but it appears comparable to the mini soundbomb: ua-cam.com/users/shortswO5Th74g5jU

Stock horn at 00:24 and Denali SB Mini at 04:22 Pressing the button, before ever hearing the stock horn, I braced myself but was pleasantly surprised to find it ain't horrible. Stock sounds better IRL than in the video, so perhaps the Denali does too. I'd really rather a loud 2-tone horn, or a very loud "whoop whoop" siren like the po po use to get driver's attention.

I totally agree with all of that. Marketing is always aimed at the younger person, I mean what brand what’s a load of old farts in their ad’s drooling over their latest and greatest product. 😁 And as you said they don’t give a 💩Who buys them, moneys money. Ducati is priced and aimed more in the exotic side of motorcycles which obviously gives them that exclusivity and desire. Similarly like Ferrari and Lamborghini. Well that’s my little old opinion anyway. 😁😁

Just bought a base 698 mono as the RVE had a bit of a wait for it, dealer threw in the quickshifter fitted for free so not bad. Only regret is that the base model paint job and plastics are a bit ugly.

RVE stickers look horrible, best with a red one...I peeled the stickers off of a Honda FMX650 and replaced them with 2 x Honda 'wings', far nicer look! Wraps make everything look cheap,nasty and chav
