I've had the naked at school dream many times. How I dont notice until I've been there for a while doesn't make sense but it's a dream so I guess it doesn't have to. My inadequacy dreams are almost always me being at work and when service starts I don't have ANYTHING I need so most of the dream is me running all over the place trying to find my mise en place but I never do. I was a chef for a long time until my health went to shit but if anyone reading this has done that kind of work you know how much that sucks when working in a professional and upscale setting. Im always looking in the strangest places like the air ducts of a mall.
Oh man, it really does seem like the grind of education and the workplace really traumatizes us to an extent! I’ve also had nightmares of getting fired, not getting billing done on time, losing all the files in the office, etc.
I wouldn’t dare talk of my nightmares online with being a schizophrenic it is hard and those dreams haunt me every day. Very interesting to have this introspection into your subconscious Juan, thank you!
I can't tell you how nice it feels not to be alone when it comes to classroom nightmares. I still get the "there's a test I have to take but I know nothing" nightmares from time to time and they never fail to unnerve me.
Obviously super late ahaha, but! As someone that has also had frequent nightmares since childhood, this is oddly comforting. I especially relate to your dream about your brother, the worst dream I've had was also about my brother. I won't go into details, but he was a child being SA'd and I could hear it happening from the other room but I couldn't move or speak and just let it happen. I've never woken up so disturbed, it ruined my week. It still makes me upset when I think about it. I have a lot of violent dreams, and I'm not even me in a lot of them, they play out more as a movie. But yeah...lots of assault, stalking, murder, and then some really outlandish stuff. It worries me sometimes that my brain comes up with it. I don't watch or read any horror because of my overactive imagination, the closest I get is listening to reviewers such as yourself and sometimes some true crime. xd
Some hilarious, some downright strange, and some genuinely off-putting retellings! Thank you for sharing these with us. This was a thoroughly enjoyable and unique video. I’m just glad I never remember my dreams!
I’ve had this one nightmare recur a handful of times since I was like 12, but it starts with an aerial view of a dilapidated cabin somewhere deep in a rotten forest. Cut inside the cabin to a behind-the-shoulder view of a young me sitting in a splintering wooden chair looking at a shutter door closet that’s falling off the hinges. There’s a muffled never-ending wail coming from the closet. Footsteps clatter and the wail gets louder as the door creaks open. A pair of legs in black dress shoes and slacks steps out. Where the hips should be there’s an oily black segment of a beetle’s body. Another segment rises up. The wail gets a little louder. Then another segment. And another as they rapidly grow and grow and the wail gets louder and shriller. The top segment of the beetle body rises. But it’s fleshy. And round. Like a toddler’s head, man-sized. And the wail is a piercing shriek coming from the head’s gaping, toothless mouth. I’m frozen in place just staring at this abomination. And it sprints towards me.
This is now one of my all-time favorite UA-cam videos. This is that idea that you see someone else do and think, "Dang it! Why didn't I think of that?" Absolutely brilliant, friend. You have a writer's mind. Those nightmares are made to fuel stories. Utilize them.
What a true honor, so glad you liked the concept! I admit I thought it would raise alarms but everyone seemed to know it was just for fun. I have absolutely used many nightmares to write stories! They’re the gift that keeps on giving.
Absolutely terrifying! I’m sorry you have so many nightmares, but happy that you are able to keep a positive attitude and laugh at them and allow us to laugh with you. :)
I can relate a lot to grinding on things like rocks in my dreams. It took a while for me to realize it was because I grind my teeth terribly. I now sleep with a night guard and those dreams have gone away. Such a relief.
Interesting to learn that is where the name of your channel comes from! The way you diagnoised yourself of potentially having a foot fetish had me ROLLING. Great video! Most of my nightmares revolve around lions sleeping in my house and me being terrified of waking them off. Guess I'm scared of lightsleepers! Thanks for sharing your nightmares with us (never thought I would say that)!
Thank you for sharing this with us! Some may sound silly, but nightmares are very subjective and things can be down right terrifying to the right person. Your story of Rosie from the Jetsons reminded me of the nightmare I had as a kiddo of Jafar and Captain Hook arguing with each other as floating heads at the end of my bed. Silly sounding, but disturbing at that point in time for me.
Thank you for actually letting me know what her name is in English! And yes, it’s not so much the imagery, but the emotions they evoke in our sleep. Nightmares carry a strange aura that makes everything just seem… off.
Thanks for being comfortable enough to sharing these nightmares with us! Honestly chickens do be kinda gross, I’ve only held/petted a few chickens but their feathers are always feel kinda greasy and dirty, I can understand not digging feathers!
First, was brilliant. Second, 😳 . A few of these sound more horrifying than any horror novels I’ve read. Third, you have clearly been reading too many disturbing books. Fourth, this had me cracking up throughout. For some reason, that last one reminded me of a Short Story I once read called On the Origin of Specie, in which a man meets his demise via an endless barrage of coins. This was a truly awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed this journey into whatever the fuck goes on when I sleep. And honestly, you would think this is all because of what I read, but I’ve never really had a nightmare about any books I’ve read, and I’ve had these since before I was a reader. 😅 My brain has more than enough nightmare fuel on its own.
Related to the feet self-consciousness, feet are a very vulnerable part of the body. They have all those tiny bones, and if you take a wrong step it can f up the whole structure and ruin your gait for life or something. There's also this mythological motif of a wrestler or a warrior being invincible and/or invulnerable as long as his feet are touching the ground (Heracles kills one of those by holding him up in the air and crushing/asphixiating him). And, technically, it kind of applies to us mortals too. You are most vulnerable in situations where your feet are partially, totally or potentially disconnected from the ground: when you are sleeping, when your'e dancing, taking a shower, tiptoeing, having The SexTM, when your'e asleep, bedridden or unconscious, when you just fell, etc. Not standing on your feet is almost as dangerous as not seeing whatever it is around you, so it makes sense that the motif is present in dreams related to insecurity. btw, I just discovered your channel, just saw the The Bighead review and the Most Disgusting Books list. Just *chef's kiss* keep up the gewd werq
This is truly the psychoanalysis I was hoping to see in the comments! Very fascinating stuff. Thank you! I do also think often when we enter unfamiliar/dangerous terrain, if we were to be barefoot, our feet would be the first to tactilely experience it. They truly are a vulnerable part. I seem to also recall reading foot fetishes arise from the fact that feet sort of cross-wire with the rest of our nether regions, so they may feel as vulnerable as our genitalia. Who knows! 🦶🏽 Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the content!
Perfect timing! Just got off work and this is the first notification I see! Thanks for making my weekend! If anyone hasn't. Throw Plagued by Visions when going to bed. It's mesmerizing 🛌
And even more appropriate for this video to send you off to sleep! I continue to be baffled by the idea of people finding my voice relaxing, but I appreciate it! ❤️
This was a pretty incredible video and hopefully cathartic for you! I have kind of the opposite problem for you, in that for about 15 years I had undiagnosed sleep apnea and wasn’t dreaming. I’ve had a CPAP machine for the last few years now but I still haven’t gotten used to dreaming again 😂
You didn’t dream?! What the hell?! How can I get in on that! I remember I was told that smoking the wacky tobaccy helped avoid dreams, but when I tried it, it just made me anxious and then I had a nightmare. Great!
I have! A lot of the stories I write originated as nightmares. People always ask why I don’t write happy stories. I guess I’m waiting for the happy dreams first. 😒
I usually don’t remember my dreams/nightmares, but I recently had one so horrific that it still bothers me, weeks later. I work in a veterinary ICU, and so I see some really sad and terrible shit. Let me just say that work definitely did not stay at work in my nightmare… On that note, does anyone who works in a field where they have to see troubling things frequently have any pointers on how to not have their brain hold on to those images? I don’t seem to have the ability to “turn my brain off” when I get home, and frequently it likes to replay all the traumatic stuff from my day on repeat.
I had the same problem. I once worked at a detention home for juvenile delinquents. I've worked at group homes for schizophrenics and violent people with autism. I also worked at a halfway house for men being released from prison. I could never stop thinking about work when I went home. Eventually I realized the only way I could maintain my sanity would be to quit doing that kind of work. I know how it feels when you really want to help people but when you reach your limit of sanity you just have to be smart enough to move on to something else.
I’m here to echo this other comment, sadly. I worked as a paralegal for criminal defense, and I was having the same problem, constantly exhausted trying to help people who were at the worst moment of their lives, reading through discovery and police report detailing atrocities. It was horrible. I couldn’t turn off my brain per se, but what you do in your free time is really essential! Practice self-care, and unwind and unplug as much as possible to “recharge” in a way. But while at work, I understand your struggle. It really can be unbearable. I’m sorry. 😔
Thank you for the understanding and support. I definitely am working on getting better about self care. I’m trying to make an effort to get back into artistic pursuits and writing in my time off, both of which I used to enjoy, but had stopped doing due to working so much and my depression flaring up. It’s difficult to have a job that leaves you in need to talk about trauma you’ve experienced when you either legally can’t, or like in my case, you could, but most people would be grossed out or find it too depressing. Even just knowing there are other people who have had similar problems is so helpful and makes me feel less alone.
This is such a creative and fun idea! Love it! I've also had crazy nightmares and night terrors since I was a kid, should definitely write them down! Your brain gets a standing ovation from me :)
When I was 11 we moved to Texas, landed in Houston and got a room for the night after being on the plane ten plus hours. The dream began as I was hovering in blank, empty space. Cool air, but otherwise pitch black nothing. Floating, but unable to direct my movement. Zero gravity. Deep in the blackness, far far away I could make out a strange glowing object appear on the edge of the vanishing point growing larger as it sped towards me at incredible velocity. What began as a neon green dot became as large as a parking structure; an immeasurably vast geometric shape that pulsed and glowed brightly like a jellyfish. It came so closely that the still air shifted violently in it's wake, I twisted and turned uselessly. Just as the hull of this monsterous object turned and swooped back in another attempt to graze me, a second shape appeared. It had seen me, helpless and alone in this vacuous expanse, could sense fear enough to find me in the unilluminated cold end of space. It was behind me before I knew it was there...
Have you ever seen the picture from some point in the first half of the 1900s where people are sitting at the dining room table in their new house and there is a person falling head first out of the ceiling into the picture with his arms over his head? It's supposed to be a ghost but they say they think it's somehow a double exposure. That's what I thought of when you started talking about a corpse falling on you.
I dont know exact name to search but I've seen it a lot of videos so I would imagine it's not hard to find. I would find it and post it in the feed but I don't know how.
Well, you’ve got me intrigued! My email’s plaguedbyvisions01@gmail.com if you want to send it there, but of course you don’t have to go out of your way for it. 🙂
This concept is sooo fun.. especially because I am the exact same way. I have wild crazy nightmares regularly. It would be so fun to have a real conversation with you and swap stories!! And I kid you not…I also had a nightmare about Alf..
You are a genius even when you are unconscious. This is an amazing video, just awesome. Who even thinks of doing this?! Only you, my friend! Just great.
Glad you enjoyed it, Michael! Like I said, I just had so many of these. Something had to be done. Sounds like we’re both foot-conscious. Let’s never say that ever again.
These would make a great bizzaro short story collection. I love the concept of monetizing your trauma lol, I feel like that's what a lot of authors do in one way or another. The penny one was by far my favorite, good body horror. I'm sorry you are plagued by such messed up Visions!
my dude the originality!! this's fun and with all due respect your mind is kinda a hell hole.. so is mine. anyway this jogged my memory, so am sharing too: 1- this dream got me shaking like a leaf when i was younger. i went into a hotel with my friend, and in our room, there was a stranger and i with no chit chat mercilessly beat him to death with a wrench, but the man still stood shaking, his limbs twisting, teeth clanking violently, eyes bulging, he was still standing glitching, stuck in the moment of his death, and he won't die. then my friend left the room and i sat on the sofa two steps away waiting for him to die. and can you believe it in the dream i was just annoyed like just die already. 2- i was keeping a look out while someone i knew slept-actually irl idk who this person is-, it was nearly completely dark in the nightmare, and this rag doll started appearing randomly closer and closer to my loved one, so when it appeared again in a darken room i lunged at it, and started eating it, biting chewing and swallowing the fiber stuffing, i felt it in my throat as i swallowed. in the nightmare i felt a violent and REAL hatred and rage.
Well, thank YOU for sharing this amazingly twisted nightmares! I’m happy that I’m on your good side! 😅 I was telling someone else I’ve never been the aggressor in my nightmares, only the recipient. I guess both can be quite horrific in their own way!
I love how some of these are ranked. I've found that even the most trivial or normal dreams can be horrifying just because the brain is insisting it is. Perhaps this might help your fear of birds and feathers, but I once read about someone randomly forgetting the word 'feathers,' so they said 'bird leaves'. That's strangely adorable to me.
Absolutely. Getting chased by the Jetsons robot maid is only horrifying when you know the adrenaline and atmospheric dread I experienced while it “happened.” 😂 “Bird leaves”? Doesn’t help, but that is indeed a curious fact!
I hope I don't steal any thunder from your great video but this is my dream that I would put at the top tier of your ranking system. I dreamed I was at a Butthole Surfers concert. They were playing Sea Ferring and the whole audience was naked. We were all dancing and I closed my eyes and when I opened them the whole audience had disappeared. It was just me and the band. The singer got off the stage and gestured for me to follow him. He took me down some stairs into a dimly lit basement with rusty pipes, slime on the walls, and some toilets that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in over a decade. He started laughing and pointing at the floor. I looked where he was pointing and there was a dog eating the corpse of a dead cat.
Bro my dreams are outta if this world. I often dream of zombies. And I don’t care much for zombie movies or games. It’s weird. One time I had this dream of these Sasquatch like beings with razor sharp teeth. Another I had a dream my furniture came to life and tried to eat me. Another my my skull was cut in half off and part of my brain was removed. One I had a dream I was split in half. I had a dream once with this 5 story house built in the shape of a tower. The sky was violet interwoven with black with lightening cracking the sky. Inside the house was torture chambers and razors and for some reason pin head. I’d also dreamed of Freddy Krueger as well. The worse ones are my grandma with a knife trying to kill me or biting when I’m trying to help her out of bed( which probably has to do with with a certain experience I had with her when I was child, let’s just say she did something which I won’t ever forget and fucked me in the head for the the rest of my life). My heart sometimes hurts with these dreams it’s good to know other people have similar experiences. Not that I want others to share in these harrowing experiences just comforting to know I’m not alone
I love listening to people talk about their dreams. I just think dreams are so interesting, the way our minds process such random stuff while we're asleep, as if purging subconscious thoughts and fears so that our waking lives will be more productive. In my scariest dream, I watched my mom suddenly become possessed by a demon. She just started speaking demonic words in a demonic voice with this hideous expression on her face, and I thought, Well, this is it, I'll never see my real mother again. Blaargh!
That sounds horrifying! I do always try to trace where exactly all these thoughts are coming from. As I explain here, some are obvious stemming from phobias, but others are just baffling. Dreaming is truly a fascinating activity.
Oh shit here we go again. Thanks for theany uploads my man. I suffer from nightmares almost every night. I yell in my sleep too. My SO is a fuckin angel putting up with it. I don't just scream persay I'll scream obscenities or plead. It really makes me feel better knowing I'm not going through that alone. Not to diminish yours friend.
Oh man, I’m sorry to hear this! You are not alone! Night terrors are the worst. I’ve heard smoking weed helps avoid dreaming, but smoking it just makes me even more anxious, so, I’m screwed lmao.
I also get all senses while dreaming. Twice, I could've sworn that I swallowed my own blood while dreaming: Once after getting stabbed by minotaurs that also had killed my friends, and another one where I got eaten by a bear. My smell got activated when I dreamt that I had to crawl through a wall of rotting foxes and had to wade through water full of rotting noodles, while hiding from furries dressed as bears who probably wanted to torture or brainwash me. Half-scary and half-goofy dreams were about a creature that was as huge as a tower and made of millions of unidentifiable insects, a giant cat-human-hybrid biting people's heads off and one about a global pandemic of people not shitting normally, but their feces teleported into their guts.
See, this is the beauty of nightmares! Our brains make up things that it wouldn’t dare while we’re conscious. Thank you so much for sharing such horrid visions!
Aw man, the chicken beak tonsil made me cringe so bad. I went through a phase of extremely vivid dreams where I ended up having to kill somebody that was trying to kill me (once it was Ted Bundy but I think mostly they were some iteration of my ex) and I could feel everything, see, smell etc. to the point I'm pretty convinced I know what it would actually be like to slice someone up. Brains are fucking bastards. Like, thanks for creating more trauma in a bid to work through the existing stuff! I still never have any nice or fun dreams, every single one I remember is weird as hell. What made you decide to keep a dream journal?
Chicken beak tonsil stone was horrifying! This comment made me realize I’ve never really had nightmares where I’m the aggressor. It’s always stuff happening to me. Fun! And one day I just decided to reach for my phone and jot down notes on my dream in my notes app, and then just made a habit of it!
@@PlaguedbyVisions Being the aggressor in my dreams I think did help me work through some feelings of helplessness or like, feeling trapped. Oddly enough they seemed more frequent after I'd managed to leave the relationship. Obviously stuff was still going on in my brain that I wasn't able to deal with in real life in a way that was logical or even legal. Some kind of revenge fantasy dreams perhaps! It was still pretty horrifying though, especially when you wake up and all those feelings stick with you. I might start writing mine down, would be interesting to see what comes out - especially those I can't really remember upon waking.
I can absolutely see that! As horrible as nightmares can be, they really can be relieving, in a sense, when you wake up to realize it was just a dream. And definitely, writing them down can be, if anything, hilarious looking back. 😂
8:10 “The startling sound of gunfire makes me drop it onto the concrete.” I’m so sorry but now I’m just picturing you getting down low and twerking in the middle of the Kent State shootings.
Nice to hear from you! 🥰 Admittedly, we last communicated on… not the best circumstances, but I thought I’d let you know I really appreciated your words then and your presence now.

What in the David Cronenberg hell… This needs to be adapted into an experimental short film directed by someone who’s done way too much acid!

Not even 5 minutes in and I can't stop laughing at feathery butthole. If I ever form a band....🤣
UA-cam says you have to grab your audience’s attention in the first few minutes. “Feathery Butthole” was my secret weapon.
I can relate a lot to grinding on things like rocks in my dreams. It took a while for me to realize it was because I grind my teeth terribly. I now sleep with a night guard and those dreams have gone away. Such a relief.

Awesome video! “Brother in a Jar” and “Hiding from Charlie” definitely need to be short stories!
Agreed! Thank you for watching!
Well, turning into a coin sounds absolutely horrific. Thank you so much for sharing these. 💜
It truly was! Thank you for watching!
“Brother in a Jar” is definitely where I would’ve lobotomized myself like in that movie Pi.
😂😂😂
When I had nightmares it's not only one setup but I've multiple tangent.
And it honestly annoys me more than it scares or disturbs me. 😅
I’ve definitely woken up from horrific eldritch visions like, “Man, I’m pissed.” 😂
Love your videos man, keep doing what you're doing!

@@katherineparis8208 You're not alone. There are far more people dealing with this than you can imagine.
This is such a creative and fun idea! Love it! I've also had crazy nightmares and night terrors since I was a kid, should definitely write them down!
Your brain gets a standing ovation from me :)
Thank you! I’m sure my brain is proud of all this. 😒🧠 Definitely, keeping a dream journal can be tons of fun looking back, evidently! 😂
This sounds absolutely fascinating, and like a psychedelic kind of horror film! Of course, horrifying, but with wonderful imagery.
I have to see this now!
Aww, chitchatting about nightmares does sound like a fantastic time. And Alf is terrifying! Those dark, soulless eyes…
Okay, I caught you laughing in places, so I don't feel so bad that I was giggling half the time. This was a fun video!
Absolutely, I welcome laughter! 😂 How can you NOT laugh at me being chased by the robot maid from the Jetsons!
Great video, sorry you go through all of these. Your openness is very commendable.
Haha, it was quite cathartic actually! This video was like an exorcism of sorts.
As a child, I once dreamed of bumper cars. The dream made me feel very dizzy. I woke up sick with a temperature and a headache.
Bumper cars! I’m glad I’m not the only one who has dreamt innocuous stuff and woke up severely bothered. ❤️
You are a genius even when you are unconscious. This is an amazing video, just awesome. Who even thinks of doing this?! Only you, my friend! Just great.
Also, I have had that barefoot in school dream many times.
Glad you enjoyed it, Michael! Like I said, I just had so many of these. Something had to be done. Sounds like we’re both foot-conscious. Let’s never say that ever again.
Out of all of these that you described....the turning into a coin is horrifying
I still feel the copper in my bones. 😖
These would make a great bizzaro short story collection. I love the concept of monetizing your trauma lol, I feel like that's what a lot of authors do in one way or another. The penny one was by far my favorite, good body horror. I'm sorry you are plagued by such messed up Visions!
Absolutely, monetizing trauma could be a second definition of art. Turning into a coin is something I truly wish I never have experience again. 🪙
my dude the originality!! this's fun and with all due respect your mind is kinda a hell hole.. so is mine.
anyway this jogged my memory, so am sharing too:
1- this dream got me shaking like a leaf when i was younger. i went into a hotel with my friend, and in our room, there was a stranger and i with no chit chat mercilessly beat him to death with a wrench, but the man still stood shaking, his limbs twisting, teeth clanking violently, eyes bulging, he was still standing glitching, stuck in the moment of his death, and he won't die. then my friend left the room and i sat on the sofa two steps away waiting for him to die. and can you believe it in the dream i was just annoyed like just die already.
All I have to say is that Gibby Haynes from Butthole Surfers would totally do something like this.
lol wel lthis was crazy, fun, interesting, and terrifying!
Thank you, Brandon! I tried my best to pick especially captivating nightmares.
8:10 “The startling sound of gunfire makes me drop it onto the concrete.” I’m so sorry but now I’m just picturing you getting down low and twerking in the middle of the Kent State shootings.
😂😂😂
Professor Juan, I’m just curious, do you eat chicken?
Not anymore! Been vegan since November. 😂
You should read some romance novels or something, instead you can imagine like dancing Zack Effron with an 8 pack comes out of that jar instead ;-)
Interestingly enough, I’ve never had dreams related to the stuff I read! My brain’s fucked up enough on its own. 😂
I'm a simple man. I hear "feathery butthole," I leave a like
Finally I’ve cracked the algorithm
nice
Nice to hear from you! 🥰 Admittedly, we last communicated on… not the best circumstances, but I thought I’d let you know I really appreciated your words then and your presence now.
