My jaw's on the floor, lol THIS WAS EPIC! I've been waiting an extremely long time to see when someone would cut the radar, hide in mountains and stay low- and basically use Infrared, and cur their Radar, and sorta like a submarine, sneak up on a enemy and shoot him- IR style only! (only funny thing is the clouds would interfere with the EO system a little bit , i know this from working with thermal cameras in foggy conditions where fog isn't a problem- except the thickest levels, which do reduce IR viewing range. Wouldn't matter if Longshot pops above them from behind looking at his opponent though.....) This is my new fave video from longshot lol- Longshot's playing Chess here!
That's why I love the Flanker. Only thing missing in this video was some notching and watching as the other goes by completely blind. Also while watching your videos: have you tried doing the 3rd person camera footage from a ground PoV? I imagine that could look really nice. Though your camera work is already fantastic!
Awesome tactic, really fun to watch. Would love to see the VSN F-4 Phantom vs. F-14 Tomcat, at least until we get Heatblurs F-4 Phantom. Thanks for yet another great video
I set up training mission the other night for giggles with 1x F14B vs 4x Iranian F4Cs AI 3 set as veteran 1 as Ace. Took me quite a few tries before I could bag all 4. The F4 can turn and run from the Aim54 if they get enuff warning!! If you fire too far out the 54 is down to about Mach 1.2 at intercept and the F4's just turn and light the burners and pull away! (I watched a couple of my tacview files to work out what was going on...) . Then I added in a RAAF E7 Wedgetail for AWACs with a RAAF FA18C escorting him and a B1B on a course crossing the engagement area at 37k feet and M1.3.... In one of the attempts the F4 which was the Ace turned to run from a 54 but ended up heading right for the B1.....he killed the B1 then the wreckage of the Bone sucked up the 54 that was chasing him(you can see on Tac view the 54 goes after the falling airframe). Still playing around with it and may add some more combatants...
Great video Longshot - the IRST on the Mig 29 and the Su 27 are really dangerous in DCS - but in real life you would not be able to see through clouds or rain or fog...Nice kill though! I hate Su27s hiding in the mountains! Stay safe Sir and have a nice week!
I just paid attention that you have a chat in Hebrew at the end of the video. "Something... 5 Terrorists killed..... commander ....operation....battery..... Venezia (I suppose codename ) "
Great video LS, great vid as usual. The outside shots give a greater awareness to me and i'm sure to others as well, and they look amazing on top of that. Couldn't ask for more :) Do you mind me asking why you don't use the mirrors? I'm guessing it takes up a bit of your visibility in the cockpit, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter, you smoked that hornet 🔥
Awesome Video brother !! Please do make a video (BVR to WVR) of Indian Flankers and Rafales vs Chinese Flankers and J10s in the Himalayas Border tension is still too high in the himalayas
Russia has some strange looking airfoils on their missiles, the IR missiles look like broadhead arrows, and the R-77s have drag fences on them. I could see where they would be good for maneuverability, but I think they'd produce too much drag.
Nice videos, not biased and its obvious you appreciate good engineering no matter the country of origin.. Beautiful camera angles aswell and nice flying
Has to be the right conditions, especially since it was relatively early E/O tech, but the Russians definitely saw the potential. Obviously it will be a long time before we ever see what the modern E/O systems look like, but I'd love to be able to see what the F-35 can do, as well as the Rafale and Su-35S.
To my best audio: BbddbepNepNet, BbddbepNebNet, BbddBepNepNet.... Whhaat is it that you are you saying my beautiful Bird? Take out the trash? Do the dishes? Do the luandry? Vacuum the house? Wash the cars? Make more money? Oh wait, that is what is heard when coming back from a harrowing, life-threatoning mission, fighting for your Country... BbddbepNepNet, BbddbepNebNet, BbddBepNepNet. Don't get married... Sigh...
The Su-34 and A-10 have vastly different mission profiles. The Su-34 is a strike fighter that can self-escort, much like the F-15E Strike Eagle. The A-10 is a subsonic attack aircraft, primarily utilized for close air support. Its Russian counterpart is the Su-25. The Su-34 was developed, in general terms, to replace the Su-24 Fencer and compete with the F-15E (which, itself, replaced the F-111, the American counterpart to the Su-24).
It also could be any given day in Malaysia - the only air force in the world to operate Flankers and Super Hornets side-by-side. The U.S. even has an exchange program with them where they perform tons of exercises and learn how to fight both airframes.
Why do you always dive after the first launch? You both launch at max possible range, a simple prolonged crank would make enemy missile loose too much speed to hit you

Do you use trackir or VR when your playing? I have been thinking about getting into dcs and your screen movements looks so smooth
The camera angles you use are really cool! Definitely adds to the experience.
Great to hear, thanks!
Camera work! 👍

I'm really glad you liked it, I will for sure have more of yhis kind of fights in yhe future. Cheers buddy
Fantastic engagement and some beautiful external shots. Great video, thank you!
Thanks
👍
Making real use of the "Flanker". The R-27ET long range Fox 2 is such a cool tool since it doesn't give any RWR beeps before sending you to the maker.
Wow! Amazing visuals, camera angles, the cuts and everything. Also pretty devious plan, played well.
Thanks so much
Great fight, and I love the joy you had at the end. It's such a great feeling when you decide to try something new and it actually works!
Now this match up, I really liked. Probably because I don't see much of the Super Hornet in match-ups. Which is a favorite of mine.
That's why I love the Flanker. Only thing missing in this video was some notching and watching as the other goes by completely blind.

Great content, nice flanking tactics, and even better camera angles
Thanks
Flanker does some flanking
Superb situational awareness and systems management Longshot. Great video.

The combo VSI, turn ball, and roll indicator in the SU 27 is really cool!

Oh😶

Love the unconventional tactics 👌 😀
Su 27 is very nice plane of maneuvers
Nice when a plan works!
Great video, LS! (as always)
Thanks so much
Can we have some jf17 content, it seems like a lot of youtubers forgot about it😕
"My name's Jeff!!!"
You took him out nicely.
Can you make some vids with the j10? I would love to see it in both bvr and dogfight
I like the concept of flanking with a Flanker.
Those long range fox twos are a nightmare.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen you get hit! You must be too good lol
Great show LS, those Super Hornets are scary (to me anyways)
Also great cinematography
4:12 What is that automated female voice saying. I am guessing it says "altitude" or "pull up" in Russian. I am not sure.
Guerilla warfare with a Flanker. Nice work LS!
I just paid attention that you have a chat in Hebrew at the end of the video. "Something... 5 Terrorists killed..... commander ....operation....battery..... Venezia (I suppose codename ) "
Great explanation of tactics.

I dont use the mirrors because It's a bit glitchy at the moment. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update

Very cool, good job, that warning sounds "perevedi v nabor" sounds lovely, greetings from Russia;)
Thanks!
that fkn jar jar bing when your flying russian aircraft is enough to drive a person to fly INTO the closest missile you could find
Where the hell did you get those r 77s from?
@LongShot how can you use R77-1 on the Flanker?
That was very well played.
I have a challenge for you @longshot. Stay awake for 24hrs then dogfight or bvr another person and let's see how your decision making is affected
flankin' in da flanker
Nice videos, not biased and its obvious you appreciate good engineering no matter the country of origin.. Beautiful camera angles aswell and nice flying
I dunno who your camera guy is, but he needs a ham sam'mich & a raise.

Really cool, thank you very much!
And now that's why they call it the Flanker LOL
Once you perfect these tactics, you gotta have a match with GS!
I feel like the Flanker’s electro optical targeting system is a real advantage at sub 20 miles

Can we have something with a SU 34. Would love to see how different it is from A10

Are the R77Ms on the Su-27 a mod?
Outstanding! But where do you obtain the Super Hornet for DCS??
Its a MOD
@LongShot ok cool...how do you obtain it sir?
In my Discord there is MODs channel later today Ill make sure to put it there
@LongShot ok sir I don't have you on discord as of yet.
#1... So sneaky.
This may be a look at a near future war. 😮
Hopefully not

can you play as the F18E super Hornet next?
Are you using some mod or were you on burner most of the time? lol
There’s 2 green lights to the right and top of the main jet avainivs part that indicate burner
I wanted to ask that thing aswell. What i think its a bug when you are on outside camera.
Don't see a lot of Super Hornet content where the Bug emerges victorious over Flankers and such. 🤷♂
Hopefully they ain't that shitty in real life tho
Those ET’s are so good
Love the flanker🎉❤
Nice.
Were you still in IRST mode when you launched? If so, that is my favorite way for Russian planes to get kills. 0 RWR pings.
this is a hornet, not a superhornet
Its not
