  • This is the construction of a temporary deck over our pool for when we host large parties and need extra room. All credit to the construction and design goes to my dad and his builder mate

I built a similar deck (semi-permanent) deck over a pool I don't use. It is MUCH cheaper than buying an expensive pool cover. Thanks for sharing.

We have actually been considering doing the same thing! How long has yours been installed? Im worried about the moisture under the pool rotting the wood. We wanted something that was ridged for the safety of our kids. A pool cover doesnt seem to provide protection from that

This is awesome, I’m going to build one for my backyard wedding.
Did you leave the aluminum footing in the pool after installation?

What did you use to support the structure inside the pool?

Aluminium posts, this would only work for very short term use because of the chemicals in the pool react with the metal

Covering the pool with plywood and ordinary wood seems to be a bit out of place. This is because plywood and untreated ordinary wood is vulnerable to water.

This structure was only used for 2 nights, hence the cheap timber for temporary use
