IU is a mega huge solo artist in Korea. This show is basically her “suchwita” 😂😂
She’s also one of the biggest Korean actress right now. Mega successful. Bae Suzy is another one. Not just a super famous “KPop Idol” going into acting. They literally have the natural gift. Brilliant performances on screen as an actress
I find it so funny cause you discovered bts with other content before realizing completely that they were a music group and you discovered like the biggest soloist in korea without realizing that she sings. 🤣🥰🥰

IU is one of the monster in Korea. Everyone loves her. She is so sweet and has a wonderful voice. So happy Hobi picked her to do the interview 💜🤟
iu is a very famous singer and actor, she is good friends (and they were both born in 1993) with suga, suga has produced a song called eight for her and featured on it and iu was the feature on people pt.2 in d-day
Iu is the most loved idol in korea .... And i will not be wrong to say she's the most loved person in korea too.
Iu puts a missing people poster at the end of her UA-cam posts.
In Korea, a type of singer who dances and sings as a group is called an idol singer. Global fans call Korean singers just idols because they mix the words kpop and idol, but she is not an idol singer, she is just a solo singer. She almost became an idol group, but her voice stood out so much that she debuted as a solo artist. She was sad that she couldn't debut as an idol group. She's really popular in Korea. Especially her voice and lyrics are really beautiful. There are some connections between BTS and her. She has worked on music with Suga a few times. SUGA produced IU's song "eight". this song is really good😊 And Jungkook is a huge fan of her. The first album jk bought in his life was IU's album, and the song he sang at the audition that he was offered as a trainee by Big Hit was also IU's song. And he called IU his ideal type in the beginning of his debut. He also went to her recent concert for the second day in a row.😂 When you got a recommendation for a k-drama on Patreon, there was Hotel Del Luna, and IU was the main character. I hope you guys see Hotel Del Luna sometime later. It's really fun👍
Iu concerts are literally full of celebs... So many idols and actors attended her concerts...
IU is the biggest korean soloist and she's really popular. She has done some covers of BTS's song and i first heard of her because she was jungkook's crush when he was younger. She's also friends with Suga and V, you will see their interactions when you watch their episodes.
IU is also a famous kdrama actress. She stars in one of my favourite dramas, My Mister.
Btw guys have you already watched RM on Psick show?? It's so funny, it's a Korean show but they speak English there and the hosts are hilarious, I think it's something you would like to watch too!!

BTW I laughed a lot when you said you though it was a makeup show. In fact it is called palette cause IU has a song and album called that that sounds in every little text extract of the show and it like very personal for her

I mostly know IU for her acting (if you need a new kdrama I recommend Hotel Del Luna) but I do love some of her music. My favs are "My Sea" and "eight (prod & feat SUGA)"

IU is very popular in South Korea. She's basically "South Korea's Sweetheart". She's been active since the mid 2000s, and she's well known for singing popular OSTs, and Jungkook mentioned having a crush on IU many years back. She also sang two songs with yoongi ("Eight" and "People pt. 2")
I hope they check out eight explanation too... But it's more iu focused...

Its kinda funny that u guys went into this completely blind to who iu is so you just think she's a rlly good interviewer. She has been korea's top solo artist for years and is probably one of the most beloved singers in the country 😭 also she has episodes with suga and v!!
IU is a national treasure in Korea. And Rolling Stone Magazine released an update to their list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time and IU was added to that list, be coming the first Korean singer to make the list.
She is also an outstanding actress having starred in several of Korea's most popular dramas. In 2022 she starred in her first commercial film and Premiered at Cannes Film Festival. She was nominated for Best Actresses award. She is also a model, being a Global Ambassador for Gucci, New Balance as well as several Korean Brands.
She also writes much of her own music (since 2014) and has composed and produced her music as well.

Loved this!! They got on so well, this was a really nice vibe like you said. And yes, I’m never getting over how coherent everything about j-hope’s artistic identity is - he might deny it, but looking from the outside it really does feel like everything has been planned from the beginning 😅
It made me a little sad that he felt like he doesn’t have any colleagues/artist friends outside the members. I do think his listening party, this interview, other collabs he did after his album (Rush Hour, On the street…) helped him a lot and he made a huge and brave effort to reach out to those fellow artists, so it’s probably not that way anymore now, and I hope he makes even more connections after military service so he doesn’t feel as alone and can have people to go to for advice/who relate to him other than the members.

I hope someday you will also do an Iu deep dive. She is one of my fav female soloists and she is just such a sweet, honest and beautiful person. She is also a vocal queen and an amazing artist. I really recommend her drama Hotel de Luna. She is close friends with bts and I find it really coherent cause they are both such big figures in the industry but with similar views and style. Thanks for this!

I am glad you watched this....I would like to suggest you watch Suga and V on her show as well as they each did an interview with her....but perhaps before watching Suga's episode you should react to the 2 songs Suga has done with IU in the past. IU's song Eight (Produced by and Feat Suga) and Suga's AgustD people pt 2 feat IU....or you could react to them after but I think before would be better.
IU also sells out tickets ridiculously fast like BTS does. They actually filmed a clip of her trying to buy a ticket for her own concert to see what it was like and she failed to buy a ticket....I remember that clip sometimes and think it would make a fun RUN BTS episode to try to have BTS members compete to buy tickets to their own concert and then give those tickets away in a draw or something to ARMY so they are competing to get as many as possible but they have to do it the normal ways the ARMY buys tickets so they can also see how difficult it is to get a ticket and experience what ARMY does when they try.

IU's music is not really my cup of tea, but I have huge respect for her as a musician and a person. She always takes good care of our boys. Also, she has 2 collabs with Yoongi.

I think it’s kinda neat you didn’t know who IU was prior to watching this. There was no preconceived notions or expectations, just observing her as a person and their interactions. It’s a bit funner to discover who they actually are afterwards lol In IU’s case.. the living legend of South Korea. No one has been able to beat her records on the Korean charts yet. Besides that, she’s very smart & sensible, and built her career on her own merits & pure talent. She is the epitome of a real musician, as she writes , composes and produces most of her own music and plays instruments as well.
On another note, has anyone ever told Steph that she resembles actress Alexandra Breckinridge (Virgin River)?

It is interesting to note that all the vocal line have said how much they were influenced by the rap line, especially how to write their own music. The rap line were all influenced by each other. In the early days, RM and Suga. Sugas searing honesty in his lyrics and RMs genius muti layered meanings and symbolism influenced by his love of Art. All 7 now look for connections and references. Even when choosing music by other writers. You notice themes that refer back to BTS existing music or dances. US and European modern music bar a few exceptions seem to be printed out for the lowest common denominator. Whilst BTS assumes a level of existing knowledge and is written in cursive. BTS songs are written in layers. The first layer is easily accessible but for those willing to dive deep are deeply rewarding. J Hope has grown up with the very best of examples and his own ambition and creativity have developed to make the BTS rap line a triumvirate of creative power houses.

This is really funny you thought palette a painting show. It's logical too but why I've never got a thought of it. Well it's name is based on IU's 4th full length album palette released in 2017. And yes she is also an idol ( most famous and respected one ). Her show is amazing and you have already seen a glimpse of it. Each episode showes a different colour and mood just like different colours a palette contains. I really love these episodes especially with seventeen, shinee, v and that one with goblin actor.

IU and Suga has made 2 songs together, "Eight" on IU's album and "People PT. 2" on Sugas album. They both do interviewing shows and they both just have great chemistry on stage together

This is like Jungkooks idol by the way, Jungkooks audition tape before being in bts was him singing a song by IU. He went to her concert last year too i think and has expressed in the past that she is his favorite and like when he was younger also said she was his ideal type. She is a big deal in Korea and has been around for a long time since a very young age.
