Eight is a beautiful song but heartbreaking when you understand why she wrote it. There's explanation videos. Made me appreciate the song even more.
Knowing the context, I was ugly crying at my very first listen to eight with mv. She said something like dancing under the sun with no shadows and I just broke down. To me it meant when you imagine someone is there with you, but the lack of shadow show it’s just your imagination. Heartbreaking 💔
9:46 Jungkook is actually a big fan of IU, he has covers of her songs and even in some RUNBTS episodes he is sometimes singing her songs in the behind the scenes clips. I wonder if he found out Yoongi chose IU for the song and thought “oh, makes sense, she’s awesome” 😂😂 if my memory serves me right I think Jungkook’s first album purchase ever was an IU album from like 2008 or 2009

She has good reputation and people truly respect her. I know she still have a ton of haters, every artist do but her image is much more wholesome and respected.

Because, actually, emotions are attached to our memories. Our amygdala is responsible for this. Does anybody who watched Inside Out remember how each memory was colored by a particular emotion? There are times when BTS does switch rap and vocal line parts....these often happen during the concerts they put on for festa every year called musters as these concerts are just for fans and so they do a lot more games and fun things during them as well so these are the concerts where you find them changing their songs to kids versions or switching parts etc. They are always a lot of fun.

Iu always reciprocate energy. Sometimes hantao (IU's manager) talks to her in whisper tone during her vlogs. She always responds in same tone 😂😂. That's why she is sweet with j hope, bossy with suga and cutely bickering with taehyun. Another reason is she 1st time met with j hope so as an introvert she tried to find connectivity with jhope. But she is good friend with other two artists so there is lots of teasing.

IU is always poised & proper but is actually pretty mischievous in real life lol She likes to joke and tease a lot.
I agree, the official music video of “Eight” w/ Suga would be nice to cover, followed by “IU-Eight, explained by a Korean” vid. The lyrics she writes are always very personal to her. She’s lived a tough life.
But I highly recommend to at least watch her in “My Mister,” which is considered one of the greatest K-dramas of all time.
IU is the reason Jungkooks voice got so good. Jk sings IU songs since his trainee days, and IU is THE master at vocal techniques, #1 in Kpop. So you can see Jungkook's training through the years was IU's songs. Most kpop idols cant sing her songs.

I have seen this alter ego disscussing but also the whole ides that if you put so much of you into your songs and really recebt events that arent finished or processed it could be hard to perform them later. For example imagine writing a love song and then that relationship end horrible but its your biggest hit and everybody always want to her it on every tour.
