    That is one mean cord wood cutting machine. Add a trailer with a grapple arm and pallet jack and right in the residential garage with reusable bags it goes. Beautiful user friendly production machine.

    Nice setup, I love the idea of a vertical drop splitter chamber, one thing I struggle with is what happens when you get a chunk you don’t want to split? A giant knot, or a crotch in the middle of the log? I want yoy opinion, again, really nice machine.

    Ok Mike near the end you said to post questions in the comments here's mine, why are you cutting up good bolts into firewood when bolts will be heading into the 120$ range and there will still be oak firewood piled up all over northern Michigan you can buy for cheap?

    • @mikeandkimcook9074
      @mikeandkimcook9074 6 років тому

      Brian R we don’t pull any logs under 10 inches so I realize there are scragg logs in our firewood. We have always chipped them so that our chip quality is high and our chips pay more than scragg at this time and so does our firewood. Basically the firewood in our yard would have been chipped if not pulled for firewood

      How did you like it?

    • @gingerinventor110
      @gingerinventor110 3 роки тому

      @@jimmyrup I operated a Rex 600, a job I had in NZ, purchased directly from Whitlands Engineering AU. What I liked about it is you just pushed the rings through without double handling, great for hardwood. The bigger model does it automatically. I could slice rings up to 4' in diameter by nibbling each corner. The company later purchased a log saw after I left, yes I'd cut them up using a MS660 before that.

    • @kubotaman3440

      Most likely its takes 1000 cord to break even

    • @jimmyrup
      @jimmyrup 3 роки тому

      @@kubotaman3440 that rig probably sells for $150 K so at a 33% profit margin $200 per cord it will probably take 2250 cords which they should be able to do in 2-3 years
