Don’t stop making these. You give us realistic expectations without over talking or theatricals.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
Also the thumbnails that’s say everything about the UA-camr regardless what you watch on UA-cam.
I’m currently learning Front-End development so this video is nice to see. It’s easing my mind more and your aura just seems so peaceful from this video. Thank you!
Hello, I'm looking to start a career in front-end development, can you recommend pages or sites I can learn from as as a beginner? Thank you ❤
@@Joselyn.OparajiI can’t really recommend a lot because I’ve only just started my own learning. But I’m using Coursera to learn front-end development. I paid for the course but I did use the financial aid option to get them at a great discount.
I’m a freelance designer and freelance front end developer, Great summary of what it looks like as a front end developer working for an actual company. I’ve always felt like you need to know so much to get your foot in the door but I feel as if you can learn a ton more on the job as well!
That’s so dope!! I’ve been thinking about going the freelance route or at least trying to learn more about how to get started. You will learn a ton working for a company if the company is good! They will always want to see you grow and are always excited to help!
I’m a CS major and I can’t decide what I wanna focus on with that degree. I’m so glad I came across your channel!! This video was very informative. I’m now gonna binge watch your videos related to web development😂
Am a front end developer and I don't have any job for now. I guess what you explained in the video would go a long way for me, because I don't really know what front end developer do everyday in their workplaces. My confidence has increased and I hope to get a job soon, thanks sharing your experience
I just realized im a front end developer watching this video. 😩
Thank you Jess. I've been a bit overwhelmed since I made the decision to go into Frontend development a few days ago.
This video is uplifting. Thank youuu.
I'm glad it was helpful! You got this!
This was such a great video to watch as a person just about to start learning front end development. This was so much more transparent for the day to day of the job. I'm really looking forward to getting started!
Thank you so much for watching! You got this!
Thank you! I just finished a full stack bootcamp but I want to focus on Frontend. I needed this video!
What bootcamp did you do and how did you like it?
I am following you because of this video!! Currently trying to figure out how I want to further my tech career. Web developer, cybersecurity consultant, data analyst, IT project manager, Network engineer … like there are sooo many different paths you can take and it is a little overwhelming. This helped detail exactly what to expect in regards to front end web development!
Please we want to see more of your videos, you're inspiring not one affects me like you did, that's why i can't give up
Thank you so much for your kind words and support!! 💕💕
Wonderful insight & inspiration. Thank you a lot! I have finished my three term Master in Web Engineering last year while working 80% as a security agent in a jail. The last three years were very intense and the fact that my then girlfriend who I loved so much left me didn’t really help in that situation. But I didn’t give up, looked for a codeing mentor online and found a senior frontend developer who gives me coachings once per week or when I can’t solve a problem which is a true blessing. I am learning React and advanced CSS right now while keeping sendind job applications to enterprises here in Switzerland. I believe in myself to find my first job as a frontend developer and I get up each day at 4 AM to meditate and work out before work. I am 48. May God bless you all 🙏🏼❤️
Great video! At a point I thought I have lost my way in programming. Hearing this from you has really inspired me.🤗 I didn't know the mere HTML & CSS I learnt could even fetch me a job.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support. I honestly think this might be rare but I also feel like going in honest with the company is always best and you'd be surprised how many companies are ok with learning on the job as long as you show the drive and passion you have for what you are doing.
Thanks for posting this. Completely new and find many videos confusing but you break it down easy to understand 🙏
I'm also a front end / blockchain developer in atlanta heading back to miami. I love seeing my culture growing in this field 🙌🏾🤞🏾🤎
Yes! I love this! Blockchain dev? That's dope!
How do you move from front end to Blockchain programming
@@ShinyJay youtube, alchemy, codedamn, dapp-world… there’s some many resources
Super clear to understand and informative, thank you so much for this Jess !
Thank you so much for sharing! Very informative and helpful (:
I'm so glad it helped!
Great Video.
I'm at the beginning of learning front-end stuff. It would be nice if you would show some kind of typical workflow/to-do's as a front-end webdeveloper. To have a idea which part of creating a homepage is your job, and what is the work of the back-end and webdesigner
God bless you
Great suggestion! I will make this into a video soon! Blessings to you!!
Very helpful and insightful ❤ thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm glad it was helpful!
Super helpful and did give me a lot of insight. Thank you so much!
I always belived I needed to be at senior engineer level just to get an entry level something and then prove my way up.
Completely off topic. Do you have any spider issues with the leaf wall? It's so pretty, but I am a bit concerned with spiders in my area...
Thank you so much!! It’s actually a fake hedge wall off Amazon so that’s a great alternative!! I’d love a real living wall but I’m a horrible plant mom lol. No issues with spiders 💕
i went to university for software development but when i graduated i realized i like web development more. but i guess i still have a computer science degree so it’s fine lol. just wish i took more front end classes
You are the REALEST!
Thanks for your kind words!! Thanks for your support!
Thank you! This was so helpful
Wow, you mean you literally got a job with HTML and CSS skill?
Great video! I'm making a career change to web development. I was curious what skills would actually be used every day on the job. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. I am learning to get into the programming world
Thank u very much, great info!
God bless
Thank you for watching!! Blessings to you!
Really appreciate this
Awesome video...thank you for sharing!
Thank you a lot for this video. This is very interesting and informative. Keep posting like those amazing videos, this is awesome.
Thank you so much!!
So it seems you work at a creative agency not a tech company? Is that better if you want to create projects from the ground up. I heard that people who work at big companies don't get to start building sites from scratch very often. I hear its just small features they work on. What do you think about this
I’m currently a welder. But I really enjoy learning about coding. I have my eyes on web development. Took a FullStack bootcamp but was too early for me and with the limited time I have cuz of work, I wasn’t able to study after classes so the bootcamp really kicked my ass. Was too fast paced for me. As of rn it’s just a hobby but eventually I would like to get a job as a front end developer, possibly. The only languages ik atm are HTML, CSS, Python, and some JavaScript. I can definitely create static websites. But now I’m tryna learn JavaScript as well to add more to the websites. Beyond HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, idk anything lol I hear frameworks being mentioned but don’t really know what they are
Did you learn html, css, python, and Javascript all during the boot camp or you knew beforehand?
Learn react
You had me by saying the pop not soda lol I'm from Chicago.
lol! Pop is the only word for it!
which companies uses static pages with html and css nowadays did you mean react and angular
Would you recommend ZTM to learn to code from a beginner's standpoint.
I started it in 2022. I did like it but I feel like there are other free resources I’ve liked a lot better. It’s all preference and what works for your learning style. I have information about a 100% free full-stack bootcamp in a UA-cam video on my channel. Hope this helps!
Can i ask what kind of company you work at? Would love to try and find such a creative environment 💞
Followed because youre a real person in a sea of clickbait.
Thank you very very much for making this videos
Do you use any css frameworks? I see a lot of jobs wanting css frameworks like sass or bootstrap.
I also see react being wanted a lot and WordPress
I used Bootstrap in the project that got me hired at my previous job and SASS a few times on the job. I do think it's great to learn them eventually but if you are just starting your journey, I recommend focusing on vanilla CSS , JavaScript, etc. In the end, everything depends on the job and what they require but showing that you know CSS just as it is without frameworks shows that you can pick up on frameworks if you need to for a job. I wouldn't let the fact that the job description lists frameworks deter you from applying if you know CSS and not the framework because sometimes they don't even end up having you use certain technologies it's just a "nice to have" thing. (my experience). Hope this helps!
I really like be good in full stack
OMG "pop" that's hilarious, yeah we definitely call it "soda" where I'm from😜
Lol! Yes! I think it's a midwest thing... or maybe just Ohio lol
Yes Chicagoans calls it “pop” lol.
Did you get a bachelor's degree in computer software and is it possible to find a career as a front end developer with an associate degree?
Yes a lot of developers don’t have a college degree . Some do.everyones journey isn’t the exact same . The most important thing is can you do the job
Good video, very helpful.
Thank you so much for this video. I truly enjoyed it and already a month into being a self taught front end web developer. My question for you is do you have any specific sites that you can provide me for certificates ?
Hi,
Pls I would love to know how you taught yourself front end development
Wow,i really need this
Do you think front end developer will be relevant in the next three years
How’d you get a job just know html and css ?? I know Java and I still can’t find one
Hi Jess, thanks for the isight. I have 5year of Manual tester with exposure of SQL etc. Still confused about where to start as no network firined for me. Open to study for the web devploment. can you put insight how long is the learning curve, practice and job with initial start package. Just rough idea. Thanks in advance as your video is so transparent about what you said.
Meta has courses do you suggest starting there?
Thank you so much for this. I'm a copyeditor/writer and the industry in Tokyo is very dry--so I've been contemplating a career change to web design/dev for the last 2 months. Your videos are some of the most informative I've found. What do you think of the gender bias in the industry? I know things will be different for me in Japan (where it's even more patriarchal and "traditional") but I'd love your input~
Do you honestly think AI will replace devs in general say in the near future?
I'm currently self learning and would be upset if all the effort I put has gone to vain
I understand your concerns completely! I posted a video discussing my views if you want to check it out 💕
Nah, AI sucks in doing anything specific. The current LLM gives you answers for high approximation of what you would expect. It has no way to judge or verify if that information is good or not so it gives you wrong answers frequently. You can tell ChatGPT to write css and it most likely is going to look like ass.
How many pages are you required to create per day? Is there a quota
When I was working at the agency, there wasn't a requirement of pages per day. We mostly did one at a time because there were multiple sites we were working on and most of them were already built but the company wanted a new page or edits to an existing one, things like that. 💕
@@theminimaljess thank you 👩🏽💻
Do you think AI will replace front and backend ??
No I don’t. I have a video on this on my channel if you want to hear my thoughts 🤗
Great of you madam but can you give me a job link I am a frontend developer
How did you get your first experience in front end?
Do front end web developers use backend programming languages like php and sql?
Do you need to be really good at math to be a web developer? Especially with coding ?
From my experience, not at all!! 💕
@@theminimaljess I’m planning on getting my associates degree do you think that’ll do? Or is a 4 year degree better? Ik some web developers don’t have a 4 year degree
@@iclizzie9627 I don't have a degree at all. I would say it depends on what you want to do and where you plan on working and the company but most times your skills and resume/projects will speak for you. Hope this helps!
@@theminimaljessthank you!
Thanks sis
You are so lucky
Well done👍
What do you mean you don't know JavaScript?
Can someone work overtime?
Is it easy to find a job like this remotely ?
Are there older ppl doing web developing ? I'm almost 40 so I'm going there's no age discrimination.
There are definitely people of all ages that are in the field and getting started with their learning! For reference I just turned 34. Learning how to code is an amazing skill that can have so many avenues outside of just working for a company. You got this!
@@theminimaljess thank you. Congrats on you learning the coding! Wish you luck on your journey. This is refreshing to hear that there are elders starting a career in this field
Hi which framework are you using in your company
When I was at the creative agency, I was using HTML, vanilla CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript personally. Typescript and GreenSock have also been used on some projects as well. It depended on the project. I hope this helps!
New Sub. I am about to give up. I can't find a job. Any tips please.
how old are you?
i love your video......
Loved the video
cool video)
Does your company pay for your WebStorm license?
Yes they did! 💕
inspiring
Dont use a lot of JS huh. Hook me up please 😅
Please i am new in this field and i will like to make new friends
Your beautiful 🤩😊
Did you take the ZTM bootcamp?
I started it and honestly didn’t find it matched my learning preferences however I will say it’s a great resource! Something a little similar would be Angela Yu’s bootcamp on Udemy!
@theminimaljess Is there a bootcamp you completed or that you strongly recommend?
@@marcogoyri5267 I’m working on completing 100Devs currently! It’s amazing and the best I’ve found so far. I have a video on my channel called “Become a Full Stack Software Engineer” it’s a more recent video on my channel. I go over my thoughts and there are links in the description box of that video. Hope this helps! It’s 100% free!
I live this video. Very informative and I just got into she codes starting Javascript. What's your LinkedIn if I may ask?
Hey Jess, do you may have an email that i can contact you?
cool video)
