***UPDATE*** Somehow I managed to cut the sound test from the final edit which was Inadvertent. Oh well. The speakers sound really good, nice and loud and really fill up room nicely.

This particular device checks almost all the boxes. Of course, I think DELL should be grateful for having it's flagship reviewed in such a detailed manner by a great reviewer such as yourself.

For a workstation, it is a perfect machine. The built-in 720p webcam quality is a little washed out and it shows but it's workable. The audio quality of the internal mic however is excellent. The audio is nice and crisp. For everything you get and for a mobile workstation, it is a perfect machine that will get the job done! Kudos to you once again Andrew for a thorough review!! 👏👍😁

I am guessing that Dell will have an XPS 14 in 2023 as most 13" have moved to 14" and the XPS line is getting a refresh in early 2023. Personally I find 14" to be the sweet spot on portability

Hi there, can I ask you a favor? I’m considering purchasing this model and have a question regarding the keyboard: is it possible to use Fn+left/right arrow keys as Home/End keys? I know some laptops with this keyboard layout have had these shortcuts enabled while others haven't. These shortcuts are important in my work so I'd appreciate your assistance, thanks.

@@areluc Hi. I just doubled checked, and YES, fn+left/right does map to Home/End. Its not labeled on the keyboard, but it must be mapped in the firmware. Thank you for teaching me something new.

Nice PC for those business users it is aimed for. Camera was okay for a 720p but for the price of this a 1080p camera should be in this unit. No excuse Dell. Microphone sounded good and clear. At least putting in four USB-C ports was smart. When charging and using the included dongle there are still two USB-C ports available. These should have been included in the XPS line of PC's you review recently. Hopefully there are no quality control issues with this PC unlike the issues "Jost Josh" encountered with his xps 9320 or what you experienced with your 9315 unit. Purchasers of these PC's should not have to deal with these issues with a new PC. Nice display. Excellent review as always. Enjoyed the livestream you recently did with this PC.

This is nice machine, but the pricing is completely out of this world. The one you are showing is not even available right now - there are some 5470s and it is true that they start at $1932.05 but that is not a pro workstation. The base does only has UMA, has a 256Gb SSD, no touch or pen support and FHD 1920x1200. To get something that you were holding I priced it out to be USD $3,792.51 and that is steep. I would expect them to drop these prices when we get closer to end of November, unless this is the business line and there will be no discounts. Overall still a very good review in bringing all the positive points for the laptop. You know me, I am Dutch it is always about the money for me hahahahahaha.

Great review. I would love it if you included a reflection test in your display reviews. The B-roll with just that UA-cam HDR video isn't enough to tell about the reflection handling of a certain device.
Maybe take a simple news webpage and with a lamp reflecting show the visibility of the screen. (To simulate outdoor usage).
This would let us understand how different screens handle reflections differently (glossy vs anti reflection vs matte) and at different nits.

Great video as always! I really wish Dell would start integrating AMD chips into their premium lineup like Lenovo (Z series) has done. It would make for improved battery and power efficiency, with minimal loss in performance. With USB 4 starting to become more available, it makes AMD much more appealing in my opinion.

I've had it with these Dells. Beautiful laptops yes, and love the carbon fiber palmrest, but horrible QA and customer service. Their 3rd party repair tech had to come over my house 5 times to repair my 9700. In the end, the only thing that remained original was the back cover casing. And the CS, I've been trying to change my card info for my Warranty extension 3 weeks now to no avail. From being transferred to wrong departments, unable to understand the rep, bad phone connections and outright being hung up on. I mean, don't take my word for it, just read Dell's reviews from BBB and anything else you can Google. Just can't do it anymore Andrew, there's better options.

Surprised memory is not upgrade-able, at this price you should be able to extend the life of the unit. Maybe Dell is banking on big companies just replacing units after just a few years. Another low is the poor image quality on the web cam and the mic audio quality.

Good stuff. Wish I could get this in a 16" or 17" screen size, maybe with the i7 instead of i9, and windows 11 home rather than 10 pro. Such a beauty. I wonder, is the 15" actually 15.6", so close to the 16"? I have been considering the 15.6" or 17 inch xps or the newest 16" Inspiron, but this looks pretty incredible.

@DeathNikki For 17" I have both the XPS 17, the Precision 7760 and am XPS 13. This workstation is the upgrade from the XPS line with similar case and ports. The 7760 (and 7770) are much larger computers with a full complement of ports. I've upgraded mine to 128GB ram and 1 x 2TB NVNE and 3 x 4TB Nvme, can't do that with the 5 series, When I got the 7760 I thought "Hey, I didn't get my dongle," then realized I didn't need it. It already has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, plus three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one of which supports PowerShare, one HDMI 2.1 port and a mini DisplayPort 1.4 port. Unlike my XPS 17 or XPS 13 it has a separate power input, so you don't use up a Thunderbolt port to charge. This all makes it a much larger and heavier machine.

I actually did not find any configuration where I was able to configure the RAM. Even on the "build your own" version the RAM was fixed at 8GB and automatically went to 32GB when you chose the i9. However I did not find out how to choose 64GB. I tried the US configurator and the German one. Coming from a notebook with 64GB of RAM I am not willing to downgrade to half as much.

Dell's Precision 15 3571 can be customized with an intel 12900H and an RTX A2000 8 GB but comes with only a single fan cooler and a 130 watt power brick, I wonder what the TDP on the CPU and GPU would be like and how would it fare under heavy workflows . .. what would the thermals be like with the single fan design?

11:13 I wasn't expecting such audio clarity from that 720p camera. Dell must have tuned something, My XPS 13 9300 isn't that clear. You're right though, this is an XPS on steroids. I wonder if Dell would take cue from the XPS 13 Plus, and make a Precision "Plus" device. Business users also appreciate a futuristic design. Anyway, thanks again for the content AMD. Be well. ✌️

The battery life on this and XPS 15 proves that intel's alder lake CAN have good battery life if windows doesn't mess it up. I wonder why intel have not yet worked with microsoft to fix this, if Dell had somehow not worked around the issue through bios settings in these models we probably had not even noticed.
