Bowie the Betta Flare

Bowie flares... at something, and then moves on. He used to flare at his reflection in the aquarium constantly until I put in a decorative backing. No need for him to flare all the time and be constantly stressed out.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I am starting to believe that the more fancy breeds of bettas are not as hardy and long living as the first more plain ones are. In my experience those have always lived longer. I had four of the regular tailed ones and they all lived for four years. But my more fancy breed ones, no matter how good a care I take of them, never seem to be able to last more than two years and most times even less. Its possible for bettas to live 6 years if taken real good care of.

@batlady2 Sadly no, he took ill very suddenly and despite all we tried he passed on. Had him for over a year.

Wow! He's really pretty. Is he still well and happy? Pretty aqua scape too.
