The Agatha Christie film "Evil Under the Sun", was largely filmed in Mallorca and one of the locations was the Raixa estate.
The house has a museum, which is much improved over our last visit, with free audio guides.
The gardens are well kept, but there is some rough walking to see some of the estate.
I have included some clips from the film to show the locations and a lot of photos that we took at the end.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks, Steve. Seems really isolated. You do get around. You are doing your part to promote it. The confessional scene was priceless!
It is on the road to Soller, about 15 minutes from Palma. Regarding the confessional scene, Anita said afterwards that she couldn't think of anything to say!!!
Once again enjoyed the vlog. Admired the miles of walking at times in too hot temperatures. Your vlog makes me want to visit the islands out of season, although I have lived in Spain for 20 years. At my age, I no longer tolerate the crowds and prefer a more leisurely pace. Yes the 80 is coming in sight.....In your way your vlogs are a snapshot about the goings-on on the island without manipulation but an honest representation of the riality, but always tolerant in your comments. This will probably help determine the success of the channel. I walk and enjoy with you together, sincere thanks greetings from Almeria, Wally.
Thank you for your lovely comments Wally.
Yet another wonderful video, oh how I wish i was there. Such a fantastic estate and FREE. The mellow stonework and panoramic views. Thank you for taking us there. Lots of walking for you both in that heat. You both deserve a cool drink..
PS Evil Under the Sun is a particular favourite of mine. All the music was by Cole Porter. Thank you again. Margaret from Longwick
@@marywraight2066 Glad you enjoyed it Margaret.
Great video. Raixa looks huge. Great editing with the old film. It looked very hot but the courtyards always look cool and welcoming with the plants. Thanks Steve and Anita.
Well worth a visit.
Really surprised to know it was used in Evil under the Sun😮 Loved the Poirot films with Peter Ustinov. Will have to watch the film again knowing this. Thanks guys😊😊
I really enjoyed walking around remembering the scenes from the film.
Thanks for showing this wonderful house and gardens. It’s a must go to when we come to Mallorca next year .
Well worth a visit.
Thank you for this video showing Raixa. We were there two years ago when the refurbishment was in full swing. We need to come back, it's such a beautiful place.
I watched the movie 'Evil under the Sun', too, parts of which were filmed at the impressing Caló d'en Monjo, too. .
We haven't been to Caló d'en Monjo... another place to at to the places to visit.
What a lovely place to visit may have to hire a car next time we come and a must visit really enjoyed this video ❤xx
❤❤
Visited Raixa a couple of years ago in the spring. The orange trees were laden. I asked a chap who was working in the garden if I could pick one - he produced a bag from his pocket & in his broken English & my patchy Spanish told me to fill the bag! I have never tasted such glorious satsumas/mandarins. A lovely place to visit & when not too hot to climb up to the folly.
It is nice to visit at different times of the year.
Great video. Surprised it was used in “Evil under the sun”. Thanks again for another good tour. Hazel and Ian
I find it fascinating to see the places where films like this were made.
Nice place to visit and there aren’t crowds of people. Is the sound outdoors some type of bug? Thank you for today’s video.
Yes, it is the cicadas, They can get very noisy!
Thouroughly enjoyed this video Steve, it looked blisteringly hot there although a lovely breeze to cool you both down, if I might be as bold to say, you are looking well with your weight loss, well done, thankyou very much to you both 👍
Thank you, it is hot!!!
Gracias Steve y Anita. El estanque es impresionante.
Es un hermoso lugar.
What an absolutely amazing place, with superb views & really impressive grounds. It must have been hot, because I could feel my skin sizzling from here & the cicadas were going crazy.
It was a little warm!!!
What a wonderful place to pass a few hours. Appears to be in the middle of nowhere.
Cheers 🍻
It is close to the Soller tunnel.
Great video steve and anita, thank you for showing us somewhere new 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful - I wish I had the time to watch the whole video - it's been a long time since I've been there ... Thanks for the video and best wishes from dark and cold and wet Bavaria ....
Thanks for watching
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca Hopefully soon 🙂 Have a good time and best wishes
Thank you for sharing your trip with us, I especially appreciate the side by side clips of the movie with the real locations. I found your video after watching the movie and searching for the film locations, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that you uploaded a mere 9 days ago, what a coincidence!!!!!
I am a bit puzzled as I thought Daphne's hotel has a view on the (adriatic) sea , but this estate is inland!!!! I guess that's what they call 'movie magic'.
Thanks again for providing a thorough tour of the place, I felt as I was by your side, visiting in real.
Thank you. It fascinates me to see how filmmakers make use of different locations.
Excellent video Steve - I take it all the contents were distributed all over Spain or further afield - always like to see the old castles/houses with the original furniture/artwork like we have here with the National Trust. Does Spain have anything similar?
The marble statues that were in the house are now in the Bellver Castle museum. I don't know of an equivalent of the National Trust here. It seems to be more down to the local authorities.
Great video Steve absolutely beautiful.
Thank you
That is some walk.
Perhaps not the time of year to be walking up hills!!!
What a great video ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
