Yes Fred, I do dislike the Patriot Act, PRISM, the economic and financial crisis, the useless wars in the middle east, the fact he signed off on 9/11 (even if you don't believe this one, I raised some good points before), the fact the only things he did was make bigger government and put money into the pockets of himself, his family and his friends in the Military Industrial Complex. This goes beyond policy, Fred. The fact he could make fun of himself to make boomer america chuckle during their 24/7 CNN binge doesn't change a thing and it sure as shit doesn't change my opinion that this man is an evil ape.
I didn't agree with his politics, but I have to admit, he has an incredible sense of humour. His delivery here is impeccable. His ending remarks are inspired.
Never voted for him, scratched my head many times about his policies, but always respected him, and his respect for the Office of President and the American people. And, Trump makes him look like a rocket scientist.
Bush's humor, his ability to laugh at himself endeared him to many American citizens. Sadly, because of media bias, many didn't see this side of Bush during his tenure as President. If you look at the expression on his face at the end of his speech though, there is a message which was given in a civil and subtle manner to the purveyors of poisoned pens in the audience: Let's focus on what is important instead of the trite gaffes. Just because Bush fumbled his words does not mean he didn't take his duties while in office seriously.
@chen0466: This side of him was always visible. It was always ignored by the media because it didn't fit into their narrative that he was dumb and a devil who stole the election. He may not have made all the right choices as president, but he was one of the finest men to have held that office. His treatment at the hands of the media is one of the main reasons we have Trump today and 40% of people view Fox News, disbelieving all the rest.
@@philipmarsden7104 oh, the 'mainstream' media has done plenty to ruin its reputation Brian Williams, Dan Rather, the CNN corruption uncovered by project Veritas, I stopped watching Fox when they showed how biased they were in favor of GOP establishment types in the last Presidential primary. @@philipmarsden7104 The problem with the mainstream media is really a tale of the boy who cried wolf. They cried wolf too many times that when an actual wolf came out, no one believed them.
@@stevengu1253 The (non-Fox) media held itself back and took a lot of moronic politics seriously, trying to find reason and pros, during Trump's campaigning. It's only since social media started showing absolute outrage at how the media was empowering Trump by trying to interpret him as a serious figure by any means possible, that they started becoming brave enough to ridicule him. This transition occurred between 2016 and 2018. The supposed ridiculing of presidents by the media has only been a 'thing' very recently but Trump benefits from convincing people that Republicans are long-time victims, and he does this by taking his early conplaints at fair reporting and pretending that it was the same as present unfair reporting. Both Bushes were warmongers who started trouble late in their presidencies so they got the reward for being tough guys while their Democrat successors had to actually fight and deescelste the war while getting the blame for funds spent and lives lost. Republicans are hosting one massive gaslighting project aimed at both Republican and Democrat voters where they use current examples of bad reporting to make you doubt how you understood past presidencies and further establish a lack of faith in the media and in democracy. Don't fall for it because it sounds intellectual and woke with its out-of-context graphs and snippets of accusations you don't see the whole story of, and don't spread this myth. It discourages voting among neutrals which is exactly how Russia intervened in the 2016 election. It's obvious enough what's fact and what's biased defence of these facts- we are all capable of knowing when the cry of a wolf is real.
@@frenchbreadstupidity7054 If I remember correctly, George W. Bush's Iraq war came around the middle of his first term. Even more, I would say that both Democrats and Republicans like playing around with war. The US in the past is a superpower, and just a simple rule of thumb on strong countries in history will tell you that they are imperialistic. It doesn't really matter who is president. If there is an opening to get that country who is not listening to you to listen to you, you do it whether if it is Democrat or Republican. Even more, I do tend to check my sources for bias, and most mainstream media have a left-center bias (meaning slight left bias). I agree with you that the mainstream media is still accurate and very factual but just based on bias, the mainstream media tends to slightly favor the left. Meanwhile, if we're talking about MSNBC and CNN, those are biased left and I would say those sources are not fair in their reporting. Personally, I don't have a lack of faith in media, but based on what I've seen, mainstream media is slightly biased to the left.

Bush and obama were the most decent presidents of recent times to me. I didn't agree with their policies but i found them to be pretty decent people to be around. Not so much with clinton and trump.
I have a friend who worked with President Bush when he was the managing partner of the Rangers baseball team. He told me that Bush was a great boss who loved baseball and had a great sense of humor. I've always subscribed to the theory that anyone who can laugh at himself has to be a fun person. If you can't laugh at yourself, you're not going to have fun.
If you miss Bush, you were either not paying attention during his time or you haven't payed attention since. He was, without a doubt, the most destructive president in US history and it's not even close.
This was April 2001. As I recall, the biggest and scariest news of the day was the increase in shark attacks in the Atlantic over the summer. Things changed a few months later

your current president is the first president in 39 years to NOT start a new US military conflict. your current president got Isreal and some neighbors to finally start seeing eye to eye. your current president got some NATO allies of ours to finally start paying some fair share. your current president got sentencing reform and HBIC money confirmed for 10 years. I could go on and on and you can continue to bury your head in the sand so the only thing visible is your heels but the reality is this administration accomplished more than the previous 3 and under constant attack.
My favorite line is: when I was growing up, it was a dangerous world, and we knew who the they were. It was us versus them, and it was clear who the they was. Today, we're not so sure who the they are but, we know they're there, 😂😂😂😂😂

That's because the Leftist media (MSM) love it when a Republican President humiliates himself. Feeds their superiority complex.

It's odd. I am a lifelong Democrat. I appreciate his self-deprecating humor, his class, and his willingness to laugh at the absurdity of life. He might have been less than a great President, but considering the recently departed from the office President, he was a breath of fresh air!
