    For water, use your dish water for toilet flush, saves fresh water. Get a tub for your shower basin to collect your shower water. Use to assist your rinse then use to flush toilet. Again saves on fresh water

    So two of the best tips I received - 1) a pstyle (for women #1) and go directly in a bottle then you can dig a small cat hole (6" deep) near your rig to dump. Men can pee in a bottle directly and dump into the cat hole or dig one of their own LOL; and 2) a half and half mix of water and distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle and a silicone sponge helps with dishes and it really cuts down on fresh water usage. I'm enjoying your channel. I learned about you from Amber. 😎

    Washing dishes suggestion: I use one spray bottle (mixture of water and dish soap) and one spray bottle with water. Wipe dishes with paper towel, spray with soap water, then rinse with regular water spray. REALLY conserves water!

    Hey guys. Great vids. An idea for food storage. Consider a ice chest cooler for the less than sensitive food like veg that don’t need real cool storage. When your meat is frozen use to cool the ice chest as it will take a day or two for it to thaw then it’s ready to use but helps keep lettuce on the cool side. Buys you some space in the fridge for things that need to be refridgerated

    Expanding the tanks with the AI is easy, but will require a composting toilet. Then, your blank tank can become a grey tank by manually pulling it open and leaving it open. Then, you just open your grey tank.

      Thank you for the comment. Looking forward to exploring this option in the future!😀

  • @duckslave

    Chris - you should be able to suck water from a jug into the fresh tank using the winterizing tube - unless you have a gravity fill - in which case just use that. As far as gray water, get a plastic tub that fits your sink and wash dishes in that then dump the water outside - no law against dumping soapy water particularly if you are using biodegradable soap. If you can live with a composting toilet, that would let you combine your black and gray tanks for quite a bit more gray water storage.

    Love your videos! A while back my husband and I decided to quit buying plastic baggies and bought silicone washable baggies. They work great and we use the food saver products as well. Keep the videos coming! We told our son and his wife about you guys because they own their own cross fit gym. We tried crossfit for a year. It kicked our butts! Lol!

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 роки тому

    • @claudiaellis1682
      @claudiaellis1682 4 роки тому

      @@IreneIronTravels No the silicon baggies are thicker. They are heavier too. For freezer items we use food saver system that sucks all the air out. That prevents freezer burn which will start happening within 72 hours. I love how you organize your kitchen. We're going to do the produce process by repackaging before putting it away. Good ideas! Thank you!

    Hi, first of all would you please dont mind for my English, i'm french and i found your chanel 2 weeks ago. You are improving yourself in a nice way, one idea for your fresh water issue would be to instal an outdoor shower pipe (usually they are black) on the side of you roof. Of course not for the lady but for a man in his swimming suit it could do the job. Less fresh water use from the tank and less in the grey. What do you think of my idea ?

    Great video. Love just watching you two. My understanding is you can legally dump/release the gray water on the ground if you use biodegradable soaps. Some use collapsible water jugs they filll up for Boondocking days to extend water. Of course a shovel and a hole for # 2 is an option. You guys probably already thought of these, but just in case. Happy travels!

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 роки тому

      Thank you! I'm looking at expanding the tanks underneath so maybe I'll re shoot that in a higher frame rate and slow it down to show the underside more. We almost bought a 4x4 but the deal didn't work out. Would be nice..... but the off roading is very limited with the size, weight, and ground clearance. Our fresh and gray tanks have a heating pad on them, but our coach is not 4 season. A lot of water lines are exposed and the electric heating pads are too power hungry. Check out Pro Heat x30 diesel coolant heater if your doing a build. It's expensive, but you can run plumbing throughout the inside and outside of the van. So essentially you can heat your inside, water heater and fresh/grey'black tanks from freezing. -Aaron👍
