I don't think you give yourself enough credit for your English-language skill. You speak with a genuine American accent, and only miss the pronunciation on maybe 0.5% of words (those are rather rare, and it shows you learned them from print rather than from speech). That is just outstanding! Well done!

Hey my friend. I started watching you some months ago and thanks to you I made my first sushi and it was delicious. This was very interesting. I'm from México but I also used to live in Minnesota 4 years ago and returned to México in 2018. I hope to watch more videos from you and learn how to make more Japanese dishes. Thank you!

Thank you Taiji for this episode and congrats on the 100K subscribers. I am honored to be one of them. I loved this episode, especially the small scene of you teaching math and the slow motion of tying up your kimono sleeves. I really love learning from your "bachelor style" cooking. Bachelor style I mean simplified with some short cuts in order to make it look doable for beginners. All your movements and instructions are easy to follow. Thank you!
I am very proud of you, I remember how our class discovered your youtube-channel quite fast and we're always believing in you. Look at you now, you made it really far in such a short period of time! Because you changed to another school, I want to wish you the best in the future here through the comment section and we'll see us hopefully someday again. You were the favorite teacher of all of us.
I am hooked onto your videos, I love Japan and the Japanese culture. It has been my privilege to visit my daughter and her husband when they were teaching English near Kobe. I am originally from France but settled in western Canada on the pacific coast. My children are doing Aikido and the Tea ceremony. I am glad you have chosen to be ambassador for Japanese culture, you are a great teacher. Blessings from an 85 years old great grandmother in love with Japan.
Thank you for the great Q & A video. You are so talented ! You speak 3 languages fluently and I’m sure you write well in all three languages. And you have a Master’s in mathematics which I’m sure was not an easy task. Now a successful UA-cam channel to add to your list of accomplishments. And with all these accomplishments you seem to have a kindness and humbleness about you. I’m sure you’re family is happy and proud of you. Congratulations again on you 100,000 subscribers milestone. I wish you continued success.
hey I love your low quality, real videos, and they have been very useful to me! thank you, I am glad you improved the quality but I still love your first videos, God bless you! you are amazing! thank you Taiji kun!
@@taijiskitchen now it is on and works well)) It is also helpful, when you cannot turn on the loudness, for example on the go or ... sitting in a seminar lol 😅😉
Greetings from Hungary! I have just recently ran into your channel (just a week ago), but I already watched like 30-40 videos and started to locate some Asian shop nearby to get the not-so-common ingredients. I was already big fan of sushi, but thanks to you I now know a lot more about Japanese cuisine and I found it very delicious and very healthy! Thank you!
congrats Taii san for reaching 100K subscribers, always loved your japanese cooking videos and I'd love that you made some others not cooking related. Kampai! Ithink your hard work will get many more subscribers to this channel
you may not have noticed, but all my contents (also non cooking videos) are still cooking related, since for me culture and food can never be separated!
Congrats on achievement, and thank you for showing us how you tie your sleeves. My husband saw me attempting it once and thought I was going to strangle myself 🤣
Watching Taiji-san at 9.55 mn, makes him look like he nearly did, back then, and I've been laughing my head off all the way up to your comment 😂! Faking it won't do, you need to take it slowly and understand the strands are crossed in the back... Reminds me of straddling myself in my aïkido outfit, back in my youth. Sometimes, I 'd have to stay back in the dressing room, and start all over again 😢🙏!
My late father used to say: „ Nothing that happens is only bad, there is also something good going with it.“ I like watching your videos, without C you would probably never made them.
My sister and her family lived in Japan in the 70's. My parents decided I should visit for a month. Holy smokes what an eye opener. I'm from the Midwest. The food was absolutely the best. I had no idea what I was eating or drinking, how to eat it or what the table manners should be. The women took pity on me and showed me the way. I got a lot of attention wherever we went because of my waist length blonde hair. What a wonderful experience. I so enjoy watching you and reliving my visit. My mouth waters for the food you make and the lessons you teach.
I happened to watch your video about half a year ago by chance and have been watching your videos (all of it) since then. I have been trying a lot of your dishes and they are great. Please keep teaching us about Japanese culture and cuisine. How is you nephew? That episode is one of my favorite, he is so cute. Thank you very much.
I've seen some tiny apartment videos centered around Japanese layouts recently, and the kitchen areas seem so small with just a sink and a single burner! I'd love to learn more about how people use those very small cooking spaces to create good food for themselves. Congrats on your success!
Hi Taiji. Fellow Asian in Germany here. Firstly, I’d like to congratulate you on your major milestone! 100K! Wow. 🎉🎉🎉 I’m sure the channel’s still gonna grow more. Also, thanks for this video. It answered most of the questions I had about you. I actually thought you might have been working as a Japanese chef here in Germany. But didn’t expect Math teacher, and teaching in German, too. Well, I do enjoy your videos and your recipes, so definitely continue doing so. I’m looking forward to more easy but delicious Japanese/Asian recipes. Viele Grüße! (Weiss Ihre Schüler eigentlich, dass Sie ein UA-cam Kanal haben? Schon interessant.)
I adore your channel and videos. This chat show a different side of you. Grounded, committed to a plan, very didactic all together with exploring and experiencing new things, new countries, new languages. Very impressive. 🙏🏻
I live in America and have just found you. I started with your Miso Soup recipe and it turned out DELICIOUS 😋. I also find your voice soothing and I think your English is GREAT! God Bless You
First, thank you for reading my comment and answering my questions. I have found, for me, it is a toss up if I enjoy a q&a video from a channel I subscribe. I appreciated how you answered the questions quickly and thoroughly without being dull, repetitive or getting off track. As to my question about your favorite dish I've never heard of that fish and I've watched a lot of Japanese cooking/eating videos. It sounds delicious. Maybe when you go home you'll be able to go when it is in season and do a video to show us how you cook it. Thank you! I'm looking forward to your future content. I wish the very best for you and your channel! 😊🌻
Thank you thank you from Canada . I have just messaged my son to ask if he can get sweet fish here . We have some pretty wonderful specialized shops . My son was encouraged to cook from a very tiny child ...kneading bread , cookies and such. As an adult he and my daughter Yui create some incredible dishes and she loves that he knows his way around the kitchen . I have enjoyed all the wonderful flavors that originate from Japan . The true harmony of flavors is such a joy.
I just watched this video, and I didn't expect you to answer an essential question about your life. thank you taji san. even though I have never asked you directly but I have asked many things about you and I got the answer from this video. stay healthy okay.. I'm one of your fans now 🥰
Hi TAijisan...glad to see and join in ur yputube chanel..im from Indonesia...😊 many information about japan..food..and history.. Hope ur have many subcribers and always share japanes cooking..arigatogozaimasu..😊👍
AHHH seeing you in teacher mode was so different! So cute though in your teacher vest!! How do you feel about Germany's culture for teachers, like dressing, hours, and other expectations? Do you feel like the teaching program prepared you well?
One of the good things of this pandemic was that many of you started creating content, and many of us started learning how to cook. I now use your tips and tried some of your dishes. Slowly improving, but since I love japanese food, this was a massive win for my survival and my wallet. THANK YOU!🍣🥢🍱🍙🍜
I really enjoy your videos. You are a great teacher. I realize that umami has recently inspired cooks in many countries. I hope that I can faithfully follow this savoir faire. I wish I could find small plates to accompany Japanese dishes. The spiritual touch of an ancestral flavor, something imaginable but that cannot be quite reached.. Takane no hana = beyond reach.
I discovered your channel at a very difficult time in my life. Your dedicated teaching style and calm instruction really helped me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hello from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Taiji-san, thank you for answering my questions! That was a very interesting q&a. I wish all the best for your channel ! Looking forward to the next recipe! 👍
Congrats on reaching over 100K Subscribers! I've enjoyed your videos and love learning Japanese home cooking from you. One of my favorite recipes was Kinpira (I hope I used the right word, burdock root). Btw, your English is amazing! You really retained the language well! I learned French and Spanish in school, but I can't remember any of it from lack of use.
Thank you for the great cooking videos. The recipes are easy to follow and turn out so good. I love the cultural aspects like gratitude and appreciation for the farmers and cooks. The camera work is excellent. I really enjoy watching YOU enjoy your food. It makes me want to try the recipe! I am so happy that they turn out so well. I am gaining some weight. I love your knife work too. Could you make a video on sharpening knives? Thank you again for all the excellent videos!
Congratulations on reaching 100k 🥳 I came across your Japanese Home Video some time ago and have now tried some of your recipes 😄 I really like the Miso soup. Luckily I have a small Asian supermarket nearby 😉Greatings from Stuttgart.
I started the evening watching one of your noodle dishes, and ended the night binged through at least 10 videos( ! ) Great content and immediate subscription! Where in Germany do you live? I visit Düsseldorf a lot and there are a number of decent Asian supermarkets and Japanese restaurants.
Konnichiwa Taiji. A little late to this video but glad I found it. I have watched several of your other videos and find them to be fun and instructional. I make many of the dishes you have on your channel and I'm glad to see I haven't been too far off. I'm fortunate to get most of the ingredients you use and my techniques have been pretty close to your instructions. I have been embracing the Japanese culture since the early '80s and much of my house is authentic Japanese style. I fly a jet for a living and have the opportunity to visit many Japanese restaurants around the country but you don't often find things like okonomiyaki or takoyaki in the restaurants unless they are Japanese owned. Therefore I make my own. When I'm home I make gyoza and many noodle dishes every week. You are one of the pluses of covid lockdown and I'm glad you chose to pursue this. I'm subscribed and an instant fan. Kanpai!
i watch lots of cooking channels. I like yours because of the simplicity of everything.. none of this fancy chef stuff. I like how you cover basic home cooking in Japan. This video was fun. I can't believe how worldly you are. That's pretty awesome.
Thank you for mention about ayu (sweet fish). I have been in Tokyo for about 10 years. When I went to the supermarket, there was ayu (sweet fish) but I never bought it. I grew up in my home town, Galle which is closest to the sea in Sri Lanka, so I like to eat fresh fish. Although the way of eating fish is different in the two countries, but I also like fresh see food in Japan very much. In the same way, eating rice in Japan, the Japanese culture inspired by Buddhism, matches well with my country. I like your UA-cam channel very much because you live in another country and try to educate about Japan very accurately.
Thank you!! We appreciate all your knowledge and the work you do to make these videos. You deserve the 100K subscribers. And yes, you English is certainly at 95%. It is very good.
I started watching you when you had 18,000 subscribers. So great you reached 100,000+. Congratulations! Really enjoyed this video and learning more about you. It's impressive you know three languages. My cousin grew up speaking English in the US, moved to Germany for school for seven years and then worked in Japan so she also is fluent in the same three languages. Your English is excellent, and I would say you speak better than 95%!
Yes I loved this video - yes you do have a pleasant soothing voice. Your recipes look easy enough to try for someone like me with no experience with Japanese style cooking/food. Definitely enjoy your channel. 👍
🎉Och I love your channel! I am just discovering it though. For fresh seafood you must come to Portugal where I live. You’d be surprised how many similarities can be found in Portuguese and Japanese cuisine. We grow here rice, make desert pudim and eat lot of seafood! And there are tea plantations on Azores Islands. All the best. BTW learning about Japan is my IKIGAI. have visited Japan once in 2011😊
I used to travel lots to Japan & savoured delicious Japanese meals there, now I have the opportunity to prepare easy Japanese meals at home - thanks to your great channel! Keep them videos coming, love all the other non-cooking videos too!
New subscriber here and I cooked my first Oden last week, boy was it delicious! I learned a lot of cooking technique from you. I’m Filipino Am living in Pa, USA. Was able to experience living in Japan for 3 years and love love love Japanese food. Congratulations, hope you get plenty more subscribers. Do you have any Japanese recipe for ribs? Duomo arigato.
I'm glad that something good came out of the pandemic -- your cooking channel! I would love it if you ended up back in the US opening a restaurant, or even a chain of restaurants. However, I understand wanting to be back in Japan again. It is home after all. Congrats on your new UA-cam status. I hope the channel continues to grow!
I am hosting a student for Japan for 6 months and your videos help. Love your content. You are an awesome teacher. I am sure in the next year or so you will hit one million subscribers.
Glad I found your channel. Congrats on your growing audience. Love the content. Thanks for sharing. I had guessed you worked for Sony Japan in Germany, but now the mystery is solved!
Thank You So Very Much for ALL That You do! You Truly are making a Difference in the lives of the people that watch you and join your channel. Please take care and stay well! Namaste'
Was an exchange student to Japan. Loved it... and the cuisine... and to cook. Thanks for this channel. Have enjoyed many recipes...now part of my repertoire. Domo arigato gozaimasu Taiji-san.
It has been an excellent surprise to discover your channel. I do really like the filming, narratives and discover Japanese kitchen and culture. Also, you have a great personality which makes the entire package very pleasant. Thank you

I really enjoy watching your cooking videos, and I’ve following, almost, your cooking methods. I’m very to know some of your personal background. I wish you all the best and abundant blessings from Almighty Father in heaven. -JP Yabut, Filipino-American, lives in Seattle WA 🇺🇸
Hey, i really liked some of your videos, because it is great content, you are sensible and you make very interesting videos, but IN MY OPINION you should make more videos about japenese cultures, the city that where you from, japanese religion, history, lifestyle, sports, freetime, school and other customs and habits there. The reason is that most of the food tutorials that you make cannot be made here in Hungary for example. But i am enthusiastic about Japan, and it would be very great to see more content from you about the topics above. Thank you, i support you.
Taiji-san, congratulations! Thank you so much for the videos you make, they are real treasure. It's not only about Japanese cuisine and culture, but it's comforting and encouraging to learn something new. Good luck and best wishes!
Tolles Video!
Thanks and congratulations to you from Minneapolis, Minnesota! This video satisfied some of the idle curiosity I had about your background. I stumbled on to your channel several months ago, and I continue to enjoy your content. You can take credit for us always having miso in the house. When making soup, thus far I've only used Hondashi grains, but I have recently discovered which local market carries kombu and katsuobushi so I plan to up my miso game in the near future. Danke vielmals!
oh, cool, one of the twins!! we lived in Rochester, so we visited Minneapolis couple of times!! always went to restaurant called ORIGAMI. hopefully its still there! cool to hear, that my videos had impact in someones life, so far away!! then for the Dashi, check this out!! ua-cam.com/video/PS1B5X4a2_U/v-deo.html
@@taijiskitchen the restaurant Origami is still around, and remains a superb place to get sushi. Origami is where I first learned about the diversity of flavors that can be found among varieties of sake. (My favorite so far has been Otokoyama, or "Mountain Man" which I find to be not-too-sweet and not-too-dry, with a lovely hint of melon.) I also had a special presentation of tobiko there that knocked my socks off! It was five little bundles of tobiko (with rice and nori of course), but one was unflavored, one was wasabi flavored, one yuzu flavored, one chili flavored, and one was flavored with squid ink-resulting in a beautiful rainbow of roe: orange, green, yellow, red, and black. Very memorable. I'm glad you found Origami to be as good as I have.
Congratulations! And thank you for the channel. In my country Japanese food is not very popular, so sometimes I struggle to find a right ingredient or even have to find an equivalent in local quisine. But the way you explain everything is very relaxing and understandable, and I enjoy learning from your videos. For example, I never could make rice and kimchi before in my life, but now I'm finally happy with how it turned out! You also mentioned that your first videos were not of a very good quality. But I personally loved them because of that. They gave me an impression of a friend or a relative teaching me to cook. Thank you! Wish you luck and inspiration for your hobby.
thank You and glad to hear that you enjoy my recipes! and where do you live?? thats exactly the goal, to not give too professional look, so that people feel invited to friends house rather than visiting a lesson!!
@@taijiskitchen I'm Ukrainian, but currently I live and study in Belarus. Now it's possible to order some Asian foods here as they tend to become more popular, mostly Chinese sweets, but getting some products is still a problem. For example, I'm really excited to taste konjac and renkon, but it's absolutely impossible to buy it here! Also I grow daikon on my balcony garden just in case if I won't find any in the local market 😅

I am originally from France but settled in western Canada on the pacific coast. My children are doing Aikido and the Tea ceremony. I am glad you have chosen to be ambassador for Japanese culture, you are a great teacher. Blessings from an 85 years old great grandmother in love with Japan.
Thanks for the informative video about you. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos, keep up the good work, you do an excellent job....
I wish you continued success.
hey, you are one of the oldest viewers! thank you so much for being loyal!!
Followers from California. Love japanese food. ♥️♥️♥️
thanx!!
Thanks for sharing "you" with us. Congratulations on your success.
Respect ! Your films are full of respect for a culture not only Japan. I very like your way to show us you way to live.
Very cool. Hello from Connecticut.
Hello there!
Taiji, thank you for doing this video. You are a blessing to the world around you.
hey I love your low quality, real videos, and they have been very useful to me! thank you, I am glad you improved the quality but I still love your first videos, God bless you! you are amazing! thank you Taiji kun!
please always enable subtitles - it makes a lot much easier to understand for English-non-native-speakers 🙂
it is enabled, but it just takes some time, for the AI to recognize what I am saying. now it is ready!
And it helps the hard of hearing.
Thank you!
Thank you. I very much appreciate and enjoy your videos.
Great info about you. Much success and health to all.
This was such fun to watch. Thank you ❤
Thank you for sharing
congrats Taii san for reaching 100K subscribers, always loved your japanese cooking videos and I'd love that you made some others not cooking related. Kampai! Ithink your hard work will get many more subscribers to this channel
you may not have noticed, but all my contents (also non cooking videos) are still cooking related, since for me culture and food can never be separated!
Congrats on achievement, and thank you for showing us how you tie your sleeves. My husband saw me attempting it once and thought I was going to strangle myself 🤣
hope it works!
My late father used to say: „ Nothing that happens is only bad, there is also something good going with it.“
I like watching your videos, without C you would probably never made them.
Thanks for your inspiring channel 😉
My pleasure 😊
Iam following you Chef . My mother / Okasan is a Japanese from Okinawa , Nahaa. Thanks for sharing your Japanese recipes .
thanks for sharing! wishing you much success.
Love watching your videos. Greetings from the Philippines.
Awesome! Thank you!
I live in America and have just found you. I started with your Miso Soup recipe and it turned out DELICIOUS 😋. I also find your voice soothing and I think your English is GREAT! God Bless You
Wow that was pretty awesome 😮 I'm glad that you did it and I wish you the best ❤😊
no no, thank YOU for asking a good questions!
will def. make a video on Ayu! thanx for the request!
You are amazing, adorable! I love your channel and I will try some of your recipes. Liebe Grüsse aus Wien!
Taiji san, your command of English is really impressive. I learnt so much from your cooking. Arigatogozimas
doitashi mashite!
no, thank YOU for asking perfect questions!
thanks, even no cooking this time but just as interesting as your othering cooking videos
Thank you for being open 🌺
You are so welcome
Hallo Nachbar(in)! schön, dass meine Videos dir gefallen haben!! Danke!
@@taijiskitchen sehr gerne. Mach weiter so. Ich lerne gerne noch mehr Rezepte 😁 Grüße von der Nachbarin 😉
That's pretty awesome.
exactly how I like it as well, simple and on point!
I enjoyed your video, thanks for the insight! Best wishes to you and again, congrats on your subscribers, very well deserved.
Your English is excellent, and I would say you speak better than 95%!
wow, cool! would be nice to get to know her!
and thank you for staying loyal to my channel!!
BTW learning about Japan is my IKIGAI. have visited Japan once in 2011😊
More power to you.
Congratulations for reaching 100k Taiji San. All the best to you 👍
I enjoyed getting to know you a little better. I hope the best for you as you continue this channel and in all aspects of your life!
thanx so much!!
I love the videos!!
I am hosting a student for Japan for 6 months and your videos help. Love your content. You are an awesome teacher. I am sure in the next year or so you will hit one million subscribers.
thank you, I try.
oh about 1M, not sure about that, but in 5 years or so, is my plan!!
@@taijiskitchen I think in two years for sure you will hit one million. As they say that if I subscribe to a channel it grows fast :) Good Luck!
Congratulations! I always look forward to your videos, thanks for sharing!
Glad you like them!
Glad I found your channel. Congrats on your growing audience. Love the content. Thanks for sharing. I had guessed you worked for Sony Japan in Germany, but now the mystery is solved!
hahaha, no not Sony!
Thank You So Very Much for ALL That You do! You Truly are making a Difference in the lives of the people that watch you and join your channel. Please take care and stay well!

Namaste to you too! so glad to know that my work is giving people joy!!
I just love the way you start your videos with that clap 👏.... And the way you say- let's get started...😅💚
hahaha, thanx!
I think your English is better than many Americans. I would rate it 99%. 😊
hahaha, thanx!
Thanks for being honest!
hahaha, you are welcome!
I enjoy watching this video. Thank you for sharing.
thanx!!
Was an exchange student to Japan. Loved it... and the cuisine... and to cook. Thanks for this channel. Have enjoyed many recipes...now part of my repertoire. Domo arigato gozaimasu Taiji-san.
wow, cool! glad to hear that you enjoy my recipe!!

It has been an excellent surprise to discover your channel. I do really like the filming, narratives and discover Japanese kitchen and culture. Also, you have a great personality which makes the entire package very pleasant. Thank you
oh, thank you so much!!
Congratulations and thank you Taiji! 😊
thank you!!
Thank you so much for your videos, definitely looking forward to trying your recipes. Keep up the good work.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Ich verstehe zwar kaum ein Wort , weil mein Englisch nicht besonders ist, aber Deine Videos sind für kochambitionierte nachvolllziehbar. Mach weiter so.
Thank you very much!
Tolles Video!
I enjoy all of your videos
thanx!
Hi Herr Iwase, dass ist cool wie Ihr Kanal gewachsen ist. Vielleicht kennen Sie mich noch von der Schulzeit in Böblingen ☺️☺️😉 Weiter so mega cool👍👍
Im your new subscriber. I just happen to discover your chanel because im searching for cooking lesson... obviously coz i love Japanese food. And im glad i found you. Thanks much for the lessons that you share especially in cooking and also your culture.
glad you like my videos!!
❤ I live you Chanel 😘👌
Thank you so so much!!
Thanks so much for answering our questions! Can you show us how to make agedashi tofu?
