I’ve gotten so close to the last one many times, on multiple occasions I’ve gained the trust of a group with the intention of taking all their stuff but I can never actually bring myself to do it cause they’re always so nice. And you know what’s more valuable than loot in dayz? Reinforcements.
I totally agree! I do not like betraying people and hardy ever do it for the same reason! Always keep your eye out for someone planning to do it to you though!
Fr every time I try and betray someone on DayZ it makes my stomach turn lmao especially if they're nothing but nice

I have only ever had to raid one base. I caught a 3-man clan raiding mine.
I used a method not mentioned.
The sniper method.
Since I was already full bush wookie, I followed them back to their base, waited till only one was there, and sniped him once he opened the gate. Waited till the two cam back, and picked them off.
I only took what they raided from me, and burned the rest, crates of grenades and mines included last, in their burning barrel.
The Bush Wookie! Love it. Got your revenge!

If the gate your breaking has a normal 3 or 4 dial lock and not a modded one, you can just aim for the top half of the wall because once it breaks the lock falls off anyway, so your able to just open the gate

when raiding double layered gates its good to have one blown up top and one below that way you can close them behind you and gives coverage from other players

Usually, 3 dial lock takes about 20 mins, 4dial 10 times more. You can hold f to scroll through last number. You can start from like 4000 (or 300 on 3dial) if you are feeling lucky

3 dial usually takes me 10 minutes max. I also usually start at 500 instead of 000 because people tend to use a higher number
The burner charge is super cool, ill keep that in mind for this wipe
For real! it is very satisfying.
best/fastest explosive technique is simply run upto the wall, drop 5 pinned grenades at your feet, unpin a 6th, run.

Just about combination guessing I cracked multiple times 3 and 4 dial codelocks (on some servers wall-damage is disabled so its the only option). In my experience 3 dial codelock is completely useless. I would use it only as last option for limited time. It is even faster to crack that codelock than gather all supplies to blast the gate. At most it takes 20 minutes for you to crack 3 dial codelock whereas 4 dial codelock can take up to 3 hours of sitting and dialling if you are not lucky. It is massive difference. Also after this I started to put codes on my 4 dials with beginning number close to 5 or 6 simply because than you can play on psychological site of the matter. If you try 1000 combinations from 9999 and from 0000 than you usually give up because you know that it will probably take lot of time. Most of the people use codes from 7000 to 9999. I don´t know why .. I cracked about 6 4 dials and all of them had code over 5000 so my tip is if you will try it start from 5000.

You forgot the fireplace. Make a fire place and put the nades in before lighting it. cooking pot bomb is something I've been doing for well over a year and I haven't seen another player use this method.

You’re cycling through the lock wrong. You switch the second digit once, then spam through the third digit 10 times to check that duo combo.

Boosting into bases with vehicles is the greatest thing, i got 3 pairs of nvgs and a bunch of teir 4 guns doing that last night.
I hopped on this morning and saw buddy moved all his stuff and walls into a little corner of the barn, he must have been like “how the hell did somebody get in here?” 😂

I find cooking pots are quite rare to find. Best and very cheap method is used fireplace if it is outside or just drop all grenades on floor.

Some people never realize. If you break the upper wall fully you can just open the gate (only for gates) cuz lots of people will only plate the bottom

i highly recommend the code lock method, especially if it’s a 3 dial. You can brute force one gate at the very least, and save yourself some explosives

I made friends with a group of 5, they all Logges out for the night... I killed 3 while the 15 second Log Timer was active, killed the other 2 when they logged back in after hearing about my Betrayal lol filled the car with the valuables I wanted and drove to my base and let my boys finish the rest of the raid. Someone got a sick stomach lol but it wasn't me 👹☠

Raided tons of bases with 3 codes by guessing them in a just a few minutes. You get really good at it after a couple goes.

@@Nitno one time I hid close to a guys base gate and listened to him put the numbers in, and killed him on the 4th number, then just cycled the last number till it unlocked 😆 I write down the code and stole from him and put the lock back on. I came back a couple times and stole from his base until he eventually changed the code. 🤦♂️
patience is honestly the best skill to have in this game say outside a base for a long time until the owner unlocked the gate from there it’s cake

That wouldn't work on my base. I have 4 gates before my base and my outside gate is protected by walls. No one can snipe me at my gate
Spinning a 3 dial only takes 10 minutes no need to stop on every number number the minute u hit the right number codelock will drop

So as of now, grenades go through walls and damage the wood frame. Making both Wood Walls and Metal Walls take the same number of grenades.
That combo lock footage gave me hives.
Its faster to cycle through 0-9 by holding the button
change the ten value by 1
cycle through 0-9 by holding the button
change the hundredth value when you get to 99

I'm one month into day z official game (played arma mods I truly just like arma) learning so much about the game but just had the last one happen to me. (By learning I mean it's people,map, animals, weapons and certain spawn rate locations example being garden houses have a higher chance to spawn food loot) long story short a guy was telling me tips and how to play i met up with him and the group he was with and he betrayed me and the group he was with.

Can you use any gun to damage the gate/wall? And can you combine gun fire and melee damage?
Yes you can, for instance you could use 1 grenade, unload a couple magazines, then finish it off with melee.

Ima DayZ noob on p4…found a base with only one wall separating me from a barrel and box behind it! I’ve got multiple melee tools and weapons but I feel like it won’t be enough..so I’m looking for more but I also don’t wanna take too long as the owners may be back soon..what a conundrum 😩🤣

How do you destroy watchtower 2 Tier from the outside, or it can’t be done!
It should work just like any other wall. Make sure the server you are on doesn't have base damage turned off, by checking their discord. But as for vanilla settings, it should just work the same as any fence.
Since you can place fire places anywhere would it damage the wall if you put it right up against/ in it
No the fire would not damage the wall unfortunately. You could put grenades in the fireplace and lite it though.

certainly can! The pot is just a handy way to have a time explosive, especially if you make bunch a head of time.
Why not just make a small fire with the grenades put in?

Fireplace is a good one that was not on my radar. Plot raiding I am not a huge fan of promoting if it is what I think you are referring to.
What servers on ps4 are good for basing and raiding?
I am not familiar with ps4. Maybe some can chime in.

No you cannot. There was a time in the past when this was possible. You can no longer hacksaw locks.

It's sort of varying I've found. 5 typically is enough, if it doesn't blow on 5, you are very close and can melee the rest. But yes it's not exact as sometimes weird things can happen like a tiny piece of terrain is blocking part of the blast. And its the same on 1.17 / 18

need to destroy the walls and the lock will fall off.
4 combo lock 2 hours I wish lol a 3 code lock only goes upto 999 takes 40 mins where as a 4 code lock goes upto 9999 nearly 10x the numbers so theoretically it should take ten times as long as the 3 coded lock to pick.

I believe you can, I don't have the numbers on me, but I do believe it takes many.

Hmm haven't calculated. You'd get cut hands though, so any sort of Melee would be preferable, even a sharpened stick

2:30 which update was this in? i remember being able to raid with only 140 ish bullets per wall. That also makes me wonder if stacking walls in viable again.
1.14? I forget the exact patch, it was somewhat recent though, they made the walls more durable.
If you build a base try not to have the frame sticking threw a floor. You can kill a gate buy shooting the frame from below it.
So like on a second floor building where you can see it from the first floor.
If. you shoot that the entire wall comes down
That is the only way since the 1 16 update it works shooting the frame.

No not at all, it is more a convenience thing, and a way to sort of "pre make" bombs.

I can't seem to crawl under the wall after knocking off the bottom panels. Do I need to finish off the frame as well before I can crawl under?
Yes you do, sorry if that was not clear. But the bottom frame is 2 halves, just like the outer wall was. So aim for the bottom frame, it will take much less damage to destroy, then crawl under.

You can do that as well.

Barbed Wire just negates Gate Boosting completely, you either have to blow it, or Pick it since it will continuously cut you, and it's indestructable unless the walls destroyed.

@@Nitno Doorways with gaps big enough to boost over by crawling are always going to block you and ofc give you tons of cuts.
How do ppl get over when they only break the top of the wall
Couple ways, can deploy a tent then jump on the tent and over, park a care climb and go over. 2 people can jump on their back and boost.

the lock should pop off once the bottom frame is destroyed.
The combo lock does not take 40 minutes you can avoid 100 spins and don't have to spin it like he is all slow start at a random number I usually do 5 to 8 hundred then when your dial is 5 0 0 spin the last dial 9 times so it lands on 5 0 9 then turn second dial 5 1 9 then turn 3rd dial 9 times again 5 1 8. Doing this on a 3 dial takes off 100 of the spins saving you time and doing it with a 4 dial saves 1000 spins

Unfortunately that is not possible. The best you can do is make more and more gates / fences to add additional layers, and make it more costly to raiders.
3 digit combos are useless. I crack every one I see in an average of 10 minutes. I have done two 4 digits, reluctantly. Those average 100 minutes. I literally will only build gates if I have 4 digit combos.

anyone know of a server that has : Choppers, vehicles, basebuilding+, NO silly OP weapons. Already getting tired of servers where half the players runs around with 1 shoot to kill weapons, lazer accuracy
I've been having fun on Northmen. I am not affiliated and don't know enough about them tbh, but went looking for a more modded server like you described. It's a nice balance of base building, vehicles, no traders.

They work like a grenade would. So yes you could place a landmine and blow it with a nade to damage the wall.

Hmm wooden crates you can destroy with melee or bullets. Are you talking about a modded military crate?

Worst basebuilding/ raid mechanics in the history of gaming
It really could use an overhaul.
New to the game and made my first base. I decided to make a second gate on the interior of the house. Put the code lock on and it wont give me the option to select and now I'm locked inside my own base! 🫨 I've been googling and reading reddit trying to find if i can destroy the gate and i think i found my answer from you. I hope I have enough ammo to break my way out. Thanks sir.
