The red paint on cut surfaces in museums is so that the viewer of the object can distinguish between what is original to the object and what the museum has done to enhance it.

With all the organ stuff of all types that you've collected and converted to midi, you could cobble together one heck of an instrument if you assembled them all together.

The "mystery" leslie looks like it was chopped, based on the different top panel material (it looks like MDF), and the rounded cabinet corners that meet said panel, which should be squared off near the top (mirroring the bottom). There's a good chance the single upper rotor originally came from that cabinet. If that's the case, it may have started its life as a 145, or a 45 and the two-speed motor stacks were added later.

Sam, try this idea, take all of your source signals in to a matrix mixer first then to your Leslie controller. By doing this you open up the ability to create stereo and quadrophonic mixes. I have done a similar setup with two Leslies and a stereo mixer in a church and had impressive results. If I can find the diagram of what I did I will try to get it to you so that you may use it as a reference point. Good luck with your festival project.

I would like to suggest adding LEDs, you choose the colour, inside the speaker cabinets above the open vents and putting a strip of reflective tape along the bottom of the opening on the baffle. This will add a visual pulse to highlight the audio pulse.
Painting the rest of the baffle black will accentuate the visual effect, but could be skipped if you don’t want to stray too far from the traditional look of the devices.

"... Where's all the sound comin' from?", inspires imaginings of optical art in that small space --- the type that requires a a first layer of paint in hues complementary to the speaker perhaps (allowed to cure) followed by duct tape applied in visually challenging pattern, followed by another layer of paint and then once dry, peel away the tape to reveal the pattern. Finally, combine that with the sound output. That is what I imagine.

The bigger cabinets are model 125, though they normally come with their own amp. I've worked on rebuilding them (recapping the amp etc), including the motors with their shaded pole motors and relays that engage an extra wheel for double speed. Its bigger brother is the 251, and there's a 'living room' version that looks nice called the 351 though it's just a cosmetic upgrade.

Jeebus. I have a pair 122s that already sound mind bending. About the only thing I poke about is the cutting of the baffles. Part of the sound effect comes from the reflections within those baffles. A mostly common practice to up the volume and visual is to place the boxes back-out and just remove the sound-space boards.

It was awesome seeing you sitting there with the Korg, surrounded by rotary sound! And then you put the icing on the cake by bringing out the CZ101, which was one of the first synths I owned. Happy memories...! And yes, those speakers are HEAVY. I used to use a twin-cab Sharma Jubilee 7000 rotary amp with my Hammond X5 organ back in the 1990s, and I still reckon that the back pain I suffered about a decade later was probably one result of lifting those monsters in and out of vans...

You can add with ease 128 I/O to simple arduino using MCP23s17.
    : )
You could rectify 220 V with bridge rect, you get some 306 V DC with some specialized MOSFET ic, that enables you to create 306 V for the MOSFET gates to open completely. but you need these specialized MOSFET ic that translate 12V to 306 V for you to use the maximum power potential from 220 V.
Than you could build a H bridge like a thing circuit to drive these motors at any speed. even better with 3 phase motors.
    rather than a stepper motor.
