Great video explaining the basics! It was a perfect follow-along with MWO on one side and your video on the other. Well done, I'll keep an eye out for more for sure if you go any further.
Thanks! I will definitely make more. This was a very requested video due to MWOs UI being... a bit rough to navigate. Next up is a Weapon type explanation video as well as what weapons go well together!
Don't forget to cover building a mech in the store and taking it into the testing grounds. Great way to check a mech before you buy since you can build anything, then try it; one of the most useful things imo. Other than that, good work.
I have had alot of people see this video and im happy that it has helped so many. I made it just strictly for fun and for allowing people to have a good access point to this game. The UI is not great and PGI did a terrible job explaining it to new players.
This was solid, I hope a 4 clan 4 IS mech kit for beginners comes next. Their are many 2 button mechs but not alot of conversation about them. 2 button mechs make it easy for new players to see the flow of battle. Also different weapons have different ranges. You can group different weapons with similar ranges. RAC-2 and light PPC have the same range for instance
I will work on that soon! Probably after a guide to weapons where i will include weapon ranges and trying to line up ranges among builds. I will probably explain that mech builders should concentrate on one range or things that work together.
@ 17:33 If you have an XL Engine you die if you lose either side torso, and if you have a Light Engine or Clan XL Engine, you die if you lose both side torsos.
Thanks so much for Making this video dude. you've done a great job and explain this all and it has helped me get back into it and remember ball the small things and learn a whole heap more
Thank you for doing this! MWO is great! I think the new player experience is pretty flawed with how much information is hidden or simply not available in the UI at all, but I still love this game!
Actually champion mechs that you always use are worth it, for the 30% cbill bonus, but yes generally save Mc for bays and heros. Xl engines for inner sphere kill your mech for losing one side, xl for clan is basically light engine
alot of the controls are the same as they are made by the same developers. and yes, if you put a max XL engine in an urbie, it goes 104 after speed tweak
@@fryngeflashburn1463 MWO is definitely one of the more FTP friendly titles out there with a small, dedicated player base. Nice thing is an Urbie can take down an Atlas with enough skill and patience
@@thomasfox0 I can't help but love Urbanmechs... all I have is MW5 to base my knowledge on. Honestly, an Urbie at 90 kph is just too adorable to pass up playing. I may very well give MWO a try.
I just watched another dude talking about one-shot killing and even showing how he did it... I find that very.... sus. Will there be a lot of hackers and cheaters? yes there might as well will be. they appear in all online video games
Just installing the game to give it a whirl. I am going to watch this before I jump in :)

Extremely. Need to pin this as top comment.
New player here. Thanks for the upload! It helps a lot.
Great work to get people in the game that has a steep learning curve, It can be intimidating sometimes but this will help new people a lot.

Thanks for the great introduction! I just played my first game :-)
Thanks for the video! Started this game just this week and this helped! Keep it up!
Will do! working on more beginner videos! If you have any questions or requests? Just ask! Might become a video idea

Even if you lineup the ranges. A lot of people have low damage outputs cause. They're not faring with an optimal distances.
great video!!
@ 17:33 If you have an XL Engine you die if you lose either side torso, and if you have a Light Engine or Clan XL Engine, you die if you lose both side torsos.
If you run a standard engine you don't have to worry about losing a torso at all.
@@BLOODKINGbrowell cept the center torso of course, I'm sure that is what you meant, but it does come as a cost of slower engine for the weight.
@insane0042 O'yeah. You're slow as a slug compared to other tonnage choices.
But if your running lrms, ppc, or hag. Speed doesn't matter

A great overview for new players. Thanks for uploading!!
One thing to remember, even the best of the best players often get killed first.
Very helpful!
Yes!! Thank you for this just getting started and SO much to learn
Great guide, keep it up!
really helpful video introduction into the game, really appreciate your efforts, 2 thumbs up!
This has helped me alot! Will be spendong alot more time in MWO now :)
Good video bro ty

Great video! Very helpful. Old gamer, old battletech fan. New to MWO. Hope to see more from you.

Champions dont have Cbill, they have XP bonuses. Hero and Special mechs have the Cbill bonus

I'm going to be getting back into MWO since WT is going under. Can you do the Academy multiple times?
You can do the academy as many times as you want
I'm glad just to get 2 kills. Can't see ever getting 8 for the ace of spades. Let alone the deathstar title.
been playing since beta. deathstar has eluded ne for a long time. max kills is 11... a few times. sadness all around
@@dredrik6183 I've gotten closer to the living liquid metal achievement than I have ever getting above like four kills
I've played a lot of Mechwarrior 5. How much translates to MWO, control-wise?
Also... an Urbanmech can go over 90 kph? Did I hear that right?

Would a bushwhacker be a good purchase for a new player? I like the way it looks but dont wanna waste the cash
Yes. It is a durable platform with lots of fun builds. Bushwhacker X2 is a good one to play with
@@dredrik6183 thanks that's the one I ended up buying. Running a rotary ac5, Artemis 10 LRM and an Er med laser. It's tanky as hell and I love it

Not many hackers. There are some but they are very few and far between.
Conversion being a waste of time and money? My ass...
Damn this video is hella long. 😅😅😅
