Hey Walmart rods aren't that bad 😁 I have a Shakespeare big cat medium heavy fast action 7ft rod from Walmart. I love it, the 1 complain I may have to get a better quality reel but the rods amazing. The reel is now getting hard to flip the bail by hand after casting line. 🤷 I can't complain for just a little under $60.00 it's a pretty good spinning rod and reel
I thought you knew better than to get hands/fingers anywhere near extremely sharp projections. Fish that large are unpredictable and amazing strong. Very glad you didn't get worse, had a buddy make a mistake on a 60" muskie and had a couple of surgeries. Past the admonitions, very impressive fish even if you didn't hook and land it. Surprising what can live in smaller rivers and creeks.
Caught a 4 and a half footer on the Brazos in Rosenburg last week on a mullet head:) No luck with cut tilapia, so I tossed the cast net out and caught a foot long mullet, it was on after that! 🎣🎣🎣 Tight lines Ringo! Greatings again from Katy!
I live in New Jersey we stocked northern pike in our local river. They are huge. it got so popular that kayakers voters offshore Fishing became a thing.. I was out with my Yamaha nine horse my 14 foot monarch deep V…. Ripping pike out like it’s nothing then all of a sudden I see these two kayaks come but they’re nobody was paddling. They were actually jet propelled. The one guy hooked the pike and it pulled him about a quarter mile up river and that’s no lie 42 1/2 inch northern Pike….
for casting, the one i was using here, the Kapstan 300 is super durable and super strong and smooth drag. for spinning, probably the spinning Kapstan in size 4 or 6000...I was using the 6000 here, the green/black one. Thanks for watching!

Do a catch and cook. Or a camping struggle video. You make great short videos. But it's become mundane. More videos but all the same pattern. Let's see you out of comfort zone and trying new things please.😊
