Growing up in a family of seven children, my mother always made toast in the oven. In fact it was the best toast ever! Who could make enough toast for seven kids with a toaster? Actually, I don't even think we had a toaster. Thanks for the memories, Chef!

Now this is a breakfast. Growing up like u say, we had fresh ham from a slaughtered pig. Good ole country ham, eggs, grits & toast. Top it with home made jelly. TYFS. Be blessed. 🥓🍳🍽😊❤

Your father breakfast takes me back in time on how my mom used to cook breakfast for my father and us kids. The only item missing on that plate is grits with butter. Us kids used to bite around the toast before getting to the center of toast which is the best part of the toast because my mom used to place the butter in the middle of the bread before baking in the oven. Quite a delicious remember. Thank you, Chef Jeffrey, on how foods used to taste so good. 😊

You took me back sitting at the breakfast table at my Nana's house. Everyone was homemade,and homegrown.
Brings back memories when my mom would fry up leftover ham in the skillet with butter. She'd put the ham on two pieces of bread and pour the drippings from the pan on the bread. Best sandwich ever. It goes without saying that everything tastes better when made by MOM! Enjoy your cruise!

Whew I remember the toast from the broiler….we used to put a slice of cheese on it though. 😂. Couldn’t leave the kitchen though and let it burn.

My granny lived next door to us & raised her own hogs & chickens. That ham & toast made like that was the best. Next visit I’m gonna throw my grandsons off & prepare toast like that😂. You bring back so many good memories,Chef J❤. I love scrambled egg sandwiches w/mayonnaise.

My Daddy calls eggs over easy, "eggs with tha yellow running out" and we also toasted our bread the same way, with butter under the broiler, and YES, you better watch it! And then topped it with grape jelly 😋

No toaster when I was growing up. My dad fixed oven toast, it was delicious!
my fav way to cook my eggs in bacon fat and like my mom did spoon the bacon fat over the top of eggs until the white is cooked almost all the way through I don't flip them.

We had an toaster but i loved toast under the broiler better. Ith beef bacon and grits with cheese. That was always our weekend breakfast on an Saturday. Or Sunday . Or pancakes, eggs cheese with butter on pancakes with argu syrup

I like fat back or streak-o-lean fried with over easy eggs, toast and grits. And like you said, don't forget the jam or preserves.

Your father probably got up from that breakfast and put in 12 hours of hard work and not the few hours of video editing you are doing. You'd better slow your consumption down, especially all those carbohydrates or you will be on the diabetes train very soon.
