Thank you so much for your time and energy and for sharing your knowledge with all your videos. This kind of information is hard to come by from where I'm sitting.
@@woodsman2433 I'm having a hard time convincing myself I can do as good of a job as you do not to mention if I could afford the investment. I've also considered finding somebody in Central California who makes their own and I could just buy from them to support their investment. Thoughts?
@@justinwolden399 Thats a good idea maybe you could find a couple of friends and share the cost of one, your lucky over the pond that you can still get lead wheel weights, dont exist in the UK any more
Yeah lead is still obtainable here. But I live in California where lead is banned for hunting and legislation is coming that bans it anywhere even for shooting ranges. So the future of reloading is uncertain unless you stockpile now
in Vietnam we ban hunting sports, especially shotgun because it makes a lot of noise....however, we still set up small hunting groups every hunting season, the way I usually do it. through a roller to create a perfect sphere and use graphite to create a ball
I’m trying to find the right info on what size sieves needed for sorting #4, #5, and #6 shot. Would you happen to have any info on which ones to get? I’m trying to avoid ordering custom sized mesh
Thanks for doing this video. It hits almost all the right spots I’ve been looking for. Where do you get your sieves and what are the sizes of the screens I need to grade my shot effectively. I have an Oasis shot maker that’s a seven dripper unit with two sets of drippers (#4 and #7.5). The #7.5’s are double drippers so you can only imagine what kind of output you can get once everything is hot flowing.
Woodsman, can you assist me with the proper strainer. Which brand and size sieve filters out 7 1/2 shot but stops anything bigger. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Thanks for the video - was it just trial and error on domestic/commercial sieves to find the right sized sieves or did you buy from a shotgun lead sieve shop ?
Hi, I tried my ladle today for the first time. Well below the temperature you recommend for shot making here in Ontario but I couldn't wait any longer...LOL I managed to make quite a bit of really good looking shot mixed with quite a bit of tear drop shaped stuff and some other globs. (All my fault, I was messing with temperature and really just playing). Im thinking of trying some sort of ramp to roll the shot down to help separate the tear drop stuff from the good stuff..Have you tried that? Im 100% impressed with what came out for my first run. Cant wait for some 20C days to run this properly.
Thanks for letting me know, sounds like your doing great, if you have managed to make some good shot on your first try especially in cool conditions then your results are only going to get better. As for grading try using a large sheet of glass at a slight angle and reject the ones that dont roll. Many thanks again Woodsman243
Thanks for posting this video. I see the finished shot still contains a tiny bit out of round shot or some with a tail. Is this no problem in reloading and or shooting it? Have you thought about developing a way to sort shot (after size grading( into A and B shot based on roundness or am I overthinking it and is it a non issue? thx!
My tumbling process takes care of most of it, not had any problems with patterns or reloading, check out what the old fashioned frontiersmen used to harvest game in the past
For the most part it's a non-issue. if you wanted to get Super Duper about your shot, get a super flat smooth surface and handful at a time throw it on the surface the shot that rolls the farthest is the roundest so figure out a happy medium between the two areas, clear the shot, repeat
We use the latest micro drilling tech to produce very precise holes in our drippers which we sell. but as a general rule (0.036) = #5 (0.032) =#6 (0.024) = #7 (0.020) = #7.5 (0.018) = #8 (0.016) = #9 hope this helps
The shot I make is more than comparable to factory, I've done a video comparing the two. As far as patterning is concerned clays and game kills are as good . Many thanks
I'm confused about the blue water... What kind water is that, soap or acid water,. Tell us me too it. Normal water we try alot but that is not possible to make ot round. Oasis
Why not make all the screens like the big one so they all stack, then run all the shot through at once! then each size will be trapped in each screen so you don’t have to run the same shot over and over?
Osea puedo cojer una lamina de cobre y ponersela el liquido donde caen como se yama como se puede buscar y mucha salud para usted y su familia q esta pandemia esta acabando saludos desde cuba

Its fabric conditioner that is used in washing machines
@@woodsman2433 thanks for the information but why do you use a fabric conditioner instead of water..does it make any difference?
What size drip orifice is used for BB sized shot?
The largest shot that can be practically made using a dripper system is #5
Why not make all the screens like the big one so they all stack, then run all the shot through at once! then each size will be trapped in each screen so you don’t have to run the same shot over and over?
What is the watt of heater?
