+silverado baumann I have a full size XDm in .45 and it looks like the front sight is pinned in......was there a pin or a set screw you had to remove first?
Thanks for the reply! Waiting to get the Tfx pro in the mail for my xd9 SC. Plan on taking it to a gunsmith and quoted was $25-$50 for install depending if the sight needs filing.
I know this is an old video but i used same sight pusher on my xd tactical on stock sights last night and they were a bear it took so much presure just to get them to move and they made a popping noise several times and used lubricant too i thought i broke them i too thought they were pinned but they weren't. I was told before how hard they were to remove and I asked a smith about doing it and he said no because he didnt want to be liable if he damaged something I think you got lucky or their not as tough on XDMs
I use painters tape on any surface that will have friction on it. Including the edge of the sight and pusher block that come into contact. Nice video!

I thought the sights were removed right to left? You were successful L to R but now I'm confused - has your sights been removed previously?
what about a video for the rear. the meprolight tool will take out the front. have not been able to get a rear sight out with out damage to the sight

Where is the install of new front sight? that is the important one
Maybe some teflon tape on top of the slide

I was told by a gunsmith that the sights on xdm had to be CUT out and couldn't be pushed.
Erik Guin absolutely wrong..don't go to that gunsmith anymore
