I tried using the NcStar VISM version of this tool on a P320. it's a POS. the tool, not the P320. slide starts tilting when doing the front, no matter how hard you crank down on the side clamp nylon pads.

I used the same tool to remove the sights from my xd sub compact and they wouldn't budge tell I put a punch against the pusher and hit it with a 3 pound hammer on the rear sight same thing because the sprocket spindle started spinning on the shaft and needed welding so that tool ls not so great in my opinion.
You install Left to Right and you uninstall Right to Left on a Springfield... When your looking down the sights in a shooters position. The user was correct.
I bought this one because it was cheaper than the wheeler one but it feels really high quality, from what ive read XD’s are some of the hardest sights to remove and install ive done like 4 different types of XD’s so id say its worth it.
@@wallas0786 Exactly, it's cheaper. There's even another one out there by Knine Outdoors (Amazon) that looks almost identical but with a black enamel finish that's even cheaper. I can't get an answer from the manufacturer, anyone who sells them or on UA-cam. Can't afford the MGW version of these at $300. I have a theory, I think they are offered from the same manufacturer made to look like different companies. I've seen this strategy used to increase sales before. And there's no danger of copyright infringement, even if they're coming out of China.
@@darkpassenger65 I didn't know about the Knine one, I bought mine on amazon and if it sucked i was just going to return it, but since it worked perfectly I definitely kept it, I do recommend it.
I use the same sight tool. Expensive, but it's the BEST. I also use a digital caliper to ensure the sights are exactly centered.
I used painter's tape to protect my slide. I also used my vise the hold the pusher.
Just snapped the bolt on my tool, that's how hard this one is. I've changed sights on a few Springfields before, but wow.
That’s a neat tool. A lot more precise than a hammer & punch.

As I watch several of these videos , why dont you guys use some type of tape to protect the finish on your slides?

Why do you say that it has to go left to remove and right to install?
For XD 9 Mod 2 (4 inch), should the rear sight be removed from right to left?
On all my Springfields, looking down the sights, I remove them from RIGHT to LEFT. To install , I go LEFT to RIGHT. That's what Springfield told me.
Can you hold the tool in a vice?
Yes. I have a Wheeler that this is a copy of. You can put it in a vice

Excellent video. I'm trying to decide whether to get the Wheeler sight tool or this one. Have you compared them? They look almost identical.
