Many night trains and limited express trains used to arrive and depart from platforms 13 to 17 of Ueno Station's ground platform.
Even now, some limited express trains and local trains arrive and depart from this platform.
Between Ueno Station and Oku Station, there is the "Ibori Signal Station", which branches off the ground platform and elevated platform, and the track for entering and exiting from the "Oku Rolling Stock Center".
