- This is a tutorial on how to MOD your Pickleball Paddle. I tailored this set up specifically for my LUXX Control Air, but it can work with almost any pickleball paddle. A few benefits of this set up include: increased stability, balance, power, and ergonomic grip.

Added the Hesacore grip to my Luxx with a Lizard Skin overwrap in blue and love it!
Thank you for the tutorial!
The good part is like 90% of companies are making unibody design raw carbon paddles so they aren't limited like it used to be.
we love ed ju
Hi, Ed ju
I have the small tour and xtra small hesacore grip. I also just purchased the Luxx invikta. Which size hesacore grip do you recommend me placing on it? Will I lose too much feedback going with the tour instead of the carbon model?
You response will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
What’s the best grip to dampen vibration?
You didn’t have to trim the carbon one to fit the luxx ?
Hi what grip are those rubber one? And edge guard?
It says under 7.5in from palm and middle finger for size. Under is small and over is medium. If you’re at 7.5, would you go small or medium?
Still rocking the carbon hesacore over the tour one?
Are you still using 3 grams on each side or added more?
Not trying to be overly critical. You have alot of great friends/contacts like Jaume. I am just a new particpant to the sport and fell in love with the game just like you.
It would not be a balancing issue, the Edgeguard is symmetrical and balanced just like the Tungsten tape is. Are you selling/commission on the Hesacore Grips or the Wilson overgrips, OR do you really just prefer them., Thanks again
$800 dollars worth of LUXX on his table... May or may not be sponsored by Selkirk. 😎
Does the hexecore add grip size? I usually have to build up from 4.25 to 4.5. Maybe if I just put the hexecore on top of the original, it'll add another .25"?
They sell a small size and a medium if you want a little thicker handle or have larger hands.
Do you recommend adding the overgrip tape to the hersacore grip?
Be slippery and your hand would sweat otherwise
What is the brand again that you use for the overgrip? I love my Luxx and am going to get the Hesacore.
Love your videos.
I use either Wilson perforated overgrips or gamma!
Thanks.@@edjupickleball
I just put on my Hesacore, and over wrap. Ive played 2 times with it 4 hours worth. It makes Eastern very easy to find repeatably. but in my opinion one hand switching to Continental for backhand blocks and punches or roll volleys at the NVZ are harder to switch to on the fly. The Continental bevel (bevel 2) is smaller and so the Hesacore "Holes" are smaller, on the bevel 3 (eastern) they are big and your knuckle and finger tips sink into them well for Eastern. But Im not sure I can stick with the grip because Continental is so nebulous and not solid to me. plus its hard to switch because the bevel 3 pockets are so pronounced compared to the bevel 2.
I'm sure you've tried rotating the grip slightly to fine tune. I rebuild my handles by adding balsa wood on the four main edges, gives it more girth and a more pronounced 'continental' bevel that you diminish with an overgrip. I don't think I could better my grip... for my hand anyways. Was just curious about this hesacore
Does Hesacore affect switching grips quickly during play?

How many grams was that carbon?
Did you go with small or medium hesacore?
I go for the small grip!
I struggled so hard putting the carbon one on my luxx paddle and then after people told me to boil it first 😂😂
haha same here. highly recommend boiling it or else you're gonna get a workout 😂
I slipped mine on with a little bit of water
the elongated carbon hexacore grip is out of stock for 3 weeks now.. I wish I can get one
Yeah they've been selling out like hotcakes. Everyone's jumping on the bandwagon now haha.
For the Hesacore grips, can you transport them from one paddle to the next one if you get change to a new paddle or are they permanently on once you put one on a paddle?
you might be able to, i just put one on my new paddle. it would be tough and you would have to be careful but i think you could as long as you kept the plastic pieces
How do you clean your LUXX air since we shouldn't use carbon eraser?
I use a damp microfiber cloth. I’ve heard that carbon erasers will pull off spray on grit, but I’ve never actually tested it myself.
@@edjupickleball thank you!
I was going to buy Hesacore grip but there sold out. Gosh darn it!
Yeah you guys all went ham and cleaned them out 😂 I have word that they will be restocked soon
@@edjupickleball Sounds good! Love the content. I brought a Topspin pro and it been helping my game out a lot.
Anyone have any experience with removing your Hesacore grip and transferring it to another paddle? Easy to do? TIA!
Hold On, Just A Minute! Ed. Please Respond. I am a longtime viewer/subscriber to your channel. Have viewed almost all your previous videos and really enjoy/appreciate your content.
I noticed you stumbled when making the statement about which one to forego, the Tungsten or Edgeguard. First saying you would forego the Tungsten and then changing it to foregoing the Edgeguard. Which one is it.
If the Edgeguard and the Tungsten Tape weigh the same amount. Why not Forego the Tungsten Tape, which costs alot more and exposes you to some chemicals(not as mich as lead tape). Protect your Paddle AND SAVE MONEY at the same time!
Are you sponsored by Selkirk AND a Selkirk Salesman? Eagerly Waiting Your Response. Thanks
Tungsten/lead tape is great for allocating weight to a specific area of the paddle to increase stability or power (twist weight/swing weight). Edge guard does add weight, but is not dense enough to benefit specific areas like lead/tungsten can do.
I am a sponsored Selkirk content creator
How much weight does it add on?
The Tour version in small weighs .6oz on my scale… medium size weighs .65oz. Keep in mind you’re replacing your original grip and adding an overgrip.
My DBD was 8.45oz with a ribbed grip and overgrip… then jumped to 8.65 with the medium Hesacore Tour.
I found that the 30mm tape is a touch too long and looks unslightly. Went with the 20mm, less protection, cleaner look.
Interesting! I’ll have to try the 20mm myself! Thanks for sharing
What was the actual weight
The final set up for this one was 8.5oz
Boil, no plastic strips ; for me
Last Comment/Questiom. Do you only use products that you get endorsed by and to try out for free
Do you actually prefer and USE all the products that you demonstrate and show on your channel. I know you use Selkirk equipment, which have great Paddles. Are some products on your channel just done for viewership/ratings?
I carefully vet and work with companies that I 100% believe in. I am lucky that my favorite brands also believe in me and support me, but I never will promote products that I don’t vouch for. Hope that helps!
Giving away any of those sexy paddles?
3 of them! On my IG. Winners announced in a few days
I missed the give away :(
So u buy a light paddle because it's light then add a pound of accessories 😂😂
