I watched this video and decided to try this combo. I installed the white elongated grip on my Selkirk Invicta power air. With a little patience, i had no issues installing the grip with the 4 supplied tabs and wrapped with the U Drippn over grip. It has seriously helped my game immensely!! It helps keep firm control of my paddle without having to squeeze the handle as hard with a “stock” grip. Edge hit balls no longer twist my paddle causing bad hits. U Drippin overgrip also added the extra little tack creating a perfect grip for me. Theres less vibration in the paddle as well. Thanks a bunch for making this video and helping me find this “must have” accessory for my paddle!
A friend with elbow pain recommended the hesacore grip. I’m trying it on 2 paddles, Volair Mach 2 Forza & Bread & Butter Filth. I’m enjoying the experience & discovering new things. The gel grip, reduces vibration, holding the paddle with a lighter grip & changing the balance point (making top heavy paddles more middle balanced). If you suffer from elbow strain, you must try & feel the difference.
Thank you so much for recommending Hesacore grips. We bought them and used your water method. It's easy...kinda. We used your hot water method. My son is a paraplegic wheelchair athlete and he has really strong hands. Your content is amazing. Thanks again.
Hi Ed, I saw on your new short video that you were using the Hesacore Carbon. Why did you switch from the soft(pink) grip? Do you like the Carbon better? Your thoughts. Thanks.
Great video Ed the tip on how to install it will save people a lot of aggravation. Do you know by the different grips how much it increases the grip diameter over a traditional grip. For example, you remove the grip on your Luxx. When you use the pink Hesacor what will the grip diameter be? Also, how absorbent is the UDrippin grips for sweaty hands. Thanks in advance. Really like the Jaume content you have. What a great guy.
Wow so glad I saw this ! I couldn’t figure out how to put this tour grip on my paddle and thought i would ne here all night 😭 thank you ! For the warm water trick ! Genius !!
I’ve gone hesacore, and I ain’t going back! I really love the feel of my thumb fitting into a hexagon so I know my grip it in continental and super easy to switch to eastern. Also, I have an extended handle and I did not get the longer version (it wasn’t available on Amazon), but it works just fine for me.
Wanting to go HESACORE (blue) with the BODHI OVERGRIP. I will give the UDRippin a try next. How easy do the HESACORE come off to move to another paddle?
Thanks for clarifying all the details. Can you please let me know what the difference is between Small vs. Medium? Amazon doesn't really specify this and I'm worried that I may order the wrong size.
Awesome video and explanation! I use the Black Carbon Hexacore on my Legacy paddle and ABSOLUTELY LOVE how it positivily affected my game. My control is better because I can switch my grip quickly and confidently. Also, it feels more comfortable holding lower on the paddle for me. But, i do admit, my cheapy grip tape gets worn out after 1 week 😅 thanks for the review on the grip tapes, perfect timing! Aloha!
I love your videos. I use a Hesacore grip on all of my paddles, because I know that I am holding my paddle in the grip that I want. Also, I have better feel and control with the Hesacore grip. Thank you for showing me an easier way to put on the Hesacore grip. For the Hesacore Carbon grip, do I need the water to be hotter and let the grip soak longer in the water to make it easier to install? Thank you.
I've made my own (I call it pistol grip) on my paddles for a few years now. First stripping everything off of the original grip, down to only carbon. Next l made squished up tin foil blobs to tape on the handle between each finger and under my little finger, so four in all. Next l install a wrap with ridges. Lastly an over-grip that l change periodically.
Thanks for the content! Have you thought about cutting the unused part of your hesacore based on your grip? I'm trying to keep my paddle as light as possible and with these weighing about 0.5ounces it adds some noticeable weight not including the added lead/tungsten. Any feedback?
Just use an air compressor to blow into the grip as you install like we do with bicycle grips. It's super easy and you can move it around infinitely by just blowing into it again and never worry about the lubricant.
How does the udripping compare to the tourna grip? I see lots of pros using the tourna. Youre the first one ive seen to use the hesacore grip way back when u made ur first video about it, and have since put one on all of my paddles ! Thanks again!
Ed, love your videos - Have you tried the razor thin ADV MaxTac overgrip? I like it because of its thinness and excellent tackiness given how much I sweat here in Florida. The durability is on par with the Tourna Mega Tac and equally tacky. ~Cheers
Man I wish I had watched this video 2 weeks ago! I cut my finger pulling out the plastic tab and then pulling out the second tab it sliced right thru the hesacore and I just sat and watched to rubber just slowly rip down the handle and had to scrap it. So mad!! Haha all I needed was warm water haha
Hey Ed, you told us you use the Udrippin and I started to as well and love them, but the ones I got (with your discount code, thanks!) don't have the "little texture thingys" you mention in the video. I got the pro tours. I can see you're not using the Udrippin Dry Grips just from the appearance and stretchiness, but are you using the Udrippin Pro Tour Grips or the Comfort Tour grips? Knowing that would be a big help and you might want to mention it in any future video. Thanksagain!
The extra texture is very subtle! You’ll only really notice it when you compare it to some of the other overgrips like gamma, yonex, or bohdi. I’ve noticed the white pro tours have a little bit more texture because it doesn’t have dye.
Liked. I am confused. I thought the thickness is depending on the 'small' or medium' size rather than color based. There are four thicknesses INDEPENDENT of colors - XS, S, M, and L. So for example, white 'small' is thinner groves than 'medium' groves. The pink is 'XS' and hence thinner. Not so?? And where do you get extended length versions? I don't see it. Thanks for any clarification. And if you made a mistake, perhaps it warrants redoing this video. ps: I also shifted my grip orientation from the standard.
NGL, the hesacore website is kinda confusing which is why i have to keep making these videos to explain. Basically, the colors each have different thickness and firmness properties. The size (XS, S, M) refers to the thickness, but certain models ONLY have certain sizes. So I just refer to the color instead of the size. Regarding the standard vs elongated models, only the WHITE one has elongated as of right now. Hope that helps.
@@edjupickleball Thanks. Yes, the white and gray comes in both S and M that I can see. So going by color is not as accurate given that each of these color have two sizes... Not sure what model comes in L. Question: Can you give a link on the website for the LONGER version of the grip? The only ones I see are about 5 1/4 inch long. How long is the longer one? We now have grips up to 6" in pickleball and longer in tennis...

@@edjupickleball yeah and I'm sure if he makes more he will sell them as well, but at least we get a chance, at least I'll buy 4 gels. Hopefully he'll get his act together and make more and make more money at the same time, not bad 🤣🤣🤣 thanks !
@Ed Ju - Sorry if this has already been answered but I was wanting to know if I have a 5.5 inch handle that I generally like to overgrip a little higher than stock to give space for the 2-handed backhand, would you recommend the the normal hesacore grip or the elongated version??
Assuming your grip is 5.5” in length with a little extra… you can always just make up for the length with wrapping the over grip a couple times up top… or get the elongated. The standard one didn’t cover enough on my 5.5” paddles so I’m going elongated.
The Hesacore isn’t a “grip” per se. It’s mostly used for comfort, among other reasons. It just goes onto the handle and adds rigidity for better overall dexterity, then the over grip will go on top of it. The lines/hexagonal shapes allow for a better grip on the handle. The over grip will form to the shape(s) on the outside of the hesacore. So you’ll have the hexagonal shapes pushing outward, even with an over grip on top of it, and that will give you a much more comfortable grip along with a stronger grip and much less likely to lose control of the paddle. Whether it be from sweat or from a hard hit that could potentially lead to the paddle slipping from your hands. The cushioning effect of the hesacore has a few benefits like shock absorption as well.
My paddles handle seems so much shorter than the M white hessacore grip I have. Makes me nervous to attempt to put it on. Will I have a ton of overhang??

Ed, you mention the continental grip you use on the hesacore grip, can you move to an eastern forehand grip and still be in grooves, or are you always using the continental grip.
My thumb is in one of the big hexagons for the continental grip and one of the small ones for the eastern forehand. Makes it really easy to tell which grip you are in and to know you are in it just the way you want to be. Like he says, test it and move it around to get it right where you want it.
