The simple fact that Suzuki allows this kind of exposure and transparency with their products and top level riders is completely mindblowing. Thank you Mr. Suzuki!!!!
Charles Szasz suzuki only bad in bodystyle while kawasaki in maintenance, honda is the greatest before 2004 and yamaha before 2009; I don't know about usa nor europe market but in asia that's the fact.
Archangel i still own each one from four japan big brands bike, i just want smiles per litre no matter what brands is it; yamaha and honda sacrifice their quality for better margin, that's why i salute suzuki and kawasaki for keep being real to their customers 🙂
When was it 1982 or 1983 when these bikes hit the showroom floor ..and the same year my boss with Honda got the franchise with Suzuki ..and all of a sudden Hondas were ever boring ..but in 2012 an ebr 1190rs vs a gsxr 1000 with two of the fastest riders on the track at holmstead florid and the Suzuki is slaughtered by a Eric beull racing V twin the Millennial said was a pile of junk but in reality motored the crap out of a Suzuki cuttin the suzuk. Offf in the corners out braking the Suzuki making the Suzuki look pathetic plea helpless.the year buell only had one model fit all if you wanted a racer you took the lights off the street legal one cuz that's all there was ..and Eric's street bike a v twin murdered a bad boy gsxr 1000
Papa Yam !! At some point you could see what looked like a thumb rear brake! could be cool if you did a video about those! maybe installing it on your Daytona racebike?
I was there June 20 and had issues with my rearsets (near stock L8 1000) at 7:42 that guy massively helped me out supplying a build base rearset setup. The difference was night and day. A massive thank you again to Build Base Suzuki from the guy with 41 in flu yellow. I'll have all my work done with these lot now
As always, great content Sylvain. Also kudos to Suzuki for lending out the bikes to him. Great advertising without people pretending to like the brand.
Great to have such a high level rider, a very versatile one too, give us some of his time to share info we all wondered about. Great that Sylvain still gets enthusiastic talking about bikes, who better to explain stuff than Suzuki's gp test rider/3rd gp rider ! Top man Mr G !
Good video, as usual! Just a slight correction: between 00:35 - 1:16 and then 7:11 - 8:08 you talk about each bike's weight: ~200kg for the road-legal version, 175kg for the Superstock and 167kg for the Superbike. While those figures are technically correct, you're mixing curb weights and dry weights, which is confusing and not fair to the road bike. The ~200kg figure for the road-legal version is its curb weight, while the 175kg and 167kg are dry weight figures. The *curb weights* of all three are ~200kg (202kg, actually), ~192kg and ~185kg - which means there's a 10kg difference between the Superstock and the road-legal version and 17kg between the Superbike and the road legal version.
Exactly! That drove me nuts. He himself pointed out the difference bewteen dry and curb weight on one of his other videos where he was comparing road bikes with SBKs, but here he's all over the place with his figures...
Curb weight, all fluids and full gas tank GSXR1000 street legal 445lbs GSXR1000 Superstock 423lbs GSXR1000 BSB 408lbs I have a highly modified but street legal CBR1000RR that is 379 lbs with a full tank (ride at 359 lbs with 1.2 gallon) so I feel they should allow much lower weight limits to be more realistic. Even my mostly stock CBR1000RR street legal bike is 415 lbs with a full tank (395 with 1.2 gallon in it) for a total cost of about $5700 so its not an issue of cost. Awesome video thank you!
Love your channel Sylvain. You have a very easy going and engaging style. Absolutely zero ego, totally real and relatable. I think the Buildbase lads were hanging off your every word when you were giving feedback on the Superbike. Great opportunity from them to learn from a former world champ and current MotoGP test rider. Keep doing what your doing as we’re loving it!! 😊😊🔥🔥🔥🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'd love to see you hook up with the 44 teeth guys. You share the same kinda laid back style.Although Chris and Al might be a bit sharper in the tongue!😊
Sylvain you are a scholar and a gentleman. Great article, very informative, even more impressive in your second Language! I want to buy another Suzuki now!
Such a great ambassador for Suzuki! I'm still amazed how close the machines are. When you consider the mods we're able to do (affordably) if we want a dedicated track bike, we've got a machine that's very, very capable.... ...I'll still be 20 seconds off the pace though! 😂
Merci Sylvain, ta chaîne surpasse la concurrence en terme de légitimité sur la technique , l’expérience et le feed-back. And the Queen would be pride of your english, I think.
Thanks Sylvain, I really enjoyed this video. Its about the right length to watch fully and not skip. Its easy to see your ability to focus on the bike's engineering for extremely small gains.
Love the channel Sylvain! The GSX-R1000R is so impressive. I have a K2 750 and always impresses me. Love the thing. Imagine I would be blown away by the new 1000cc bike though. More performance than 99.9% of us could handle I imagine!
The standard engine is (very) fast but power delivery is smooth and the electronics are actually pretty good for a road bike. You would be surprise how usable it is.
So much value in this content! I have a wish tho. Much of us don’t have the money for a brand new bike. I wish you could do a review of a K1, K3,K5,...1000, 750, 600)stock and with Aftermarket suspension which is available on our budget like some Ohlins or Ktech. So we can have a good comparison for our budget level
Now i know how suzuki has developed significantly. This guy managed to innovate more settings with the GP bike. Their corner speed are on point this season. Top guy handling all the tests session, proper hands down for Sylvain
I like the shot 3min in- you giving your (precise) feedback and the pro ride rider in the background intently listening to what you had to say. Dunno who he is (not familiar with BSB I'm sure he's mighty quick) but those frames tell a story.
Another cracking video, What a great insight into the differences directly on track. I also love the debrief with the team great to hear your feedback 👏👌. What a greatest asset you are to Suzuki.
Best comparison test I've ever seen. I've followed you since you joined Tech 3 in Moto GP, I always said your riding was consistent in that you would always get a result based on how good the bike actually was. Some riders can ride the wheels off one machine and make it do more than it should and then be hopeless on something else that isn't anywhere near as bad as it appears. Lorenzo, Marco Melandri and Toni Elias spring to mind. Your Rossi's and Marquez's have the bikes built around their styles so they are not the great test riders in terms of comparing machines back to back. I see Dovi in the same way as you, not likely to ever be a moto gp champion but he is a good yard stick for how good a bike actually is.
Gives mere mortals and idea in simple terms the difference between the three types of configuration of the one bike which has to be similar with any other manufacturer's bike,, and from someone who is a world class rider,, sort of thing that before going to get after market parts you can see the affect before you change your bike, very rewarding viewing thanks for your help in making the video from Northern Ireland greatly appreciated ☘️☘️☘️👍👍👍
SUPER interesting! I especially loved the insight about electronics, versus no electronics on the BSB spec bikes; how much different they are to ride, and how you have to use the power differently. Keep up the content! I really, really enjoy it!
Just discovered your channel, I really enjoyed your explanations, backed up by your professional experience. As a young rider I was always fascinated by power to weight ratio, with 1.5lb/HP being the ultimate goal for both four wheels or two wheels. The superbike is very close at 1.597lb/HP. The super stock bike is probably the ultimate dream bike of the majority of street sport bike enthusiasts. The same manageable power without the excess weight, better feel, braking and less fading of the suspension, tires and brakes. New subscriber.
all the money spent for a couple of seconds for the win, great stuff, great content, keep it up. Dont get to see these kind of behind the scene stuff so often.
Excellent as always, enjoy this channel a lot. 57 dislikes and counting from the track gods out there that are simply too good for the likes of me and you (and Sylvain)
Fantastic Sylvain - best video ive seen in ages. Really interesting to see the the data for the bikes with TC exiting the hairpin, shows how well the Suzuki’s are out of the box. 1st gear on a BSB though, wow
If there's any chance, can you do a hands on full review of the nr. 34 2-stroke Kevin Schwantz racebike? Take an hour and a half or so to take us through your experience of this never to return, but to good to be true era of bikes. Thanks a bunch mate! Love your videos.

The simple fact that Suzuki allows this kind of exposure and transparency with their products and top level riders is completely mindblowing. Thank you Mr. Suzuki!!!!
That's why i love suzuki and huge respect for kawasaki ; both are making bikes as art not just product, sorry for bad english.
I've owned 5 GSX-Rs over the years, and every single one of them was absolutely booletproof.
Charles Szasz suzuki only bad in bodystyle while kawasaki in maintenance, honda is the greatest before 2004 and yamaha before 2009; I don't know about usa nor europe market but in asia that's the fact.

i love how you talk with a french accent and a british accent in the same sentence
I noticed the same thing.
Couple of Irish words in there too 😂🤣
I love this guy!! I hope others will follow his lead :)
Getting this kind of insight combined with the knowledge and expertise is unparalleled on YT currently. Huge thanks, Sylvain!
Papa Yam.
Subbed you as well❤️
Papa Yam !! At some point you could see what looked like a thumb rear brake! could be cool if you did a video about those! maybe installing it on your Daytona racebike?
Yammieeee

3:50 interesting how everyone is listening. I think Suzuki has got one of the most versatile testrider.
Merci sylvain.
When wsbk champion/suzuki motogp test rider giving his insight of your race bike, you should listen carefully 😂
@ardi Januar the bsb rider aren't slow either but yes they better listen what sylvain is telling them. And also the engineer's.
Ah, he only won one championship....
Well when you have a MotoGP rider/ WSBK championship speaking, you better start taking down notes, it's only going to help them.
@@raynic1173 "only? lol????? how about you try it?
this channel is simply brilliant

Agreed. His communication and education skill is superb!
The exhaust on the SBK is straight up '90
Probably temporary solution to pass Mallory's noice limit?
If your talking about pic at 8:36, that's an illusion from the camera angle.
It provides downforce

Sylvain providing such invaluable information for even the weekend track rider. I have learned so much watching his channel...thank you!
Sylvain and the Gixer 1000. Both absolute legends! Thanks Sylvain - great vid.
I absolutely love this, thanks Sylvain, your videos are amazing !!
Sylvain explains it in a way that us mere mortals can understand , great vlogs and big up to Suzuki for letting us see their bikes being tested !
I'd love to see you hook up with the 44 teeth guys. You share the same kinda laid back style.Although Chris and Al might be a bit sharper in the tongue!😊
Ohh man that's the dream right there. Easily potential for a Top Gear style show in the making with those 3.
I actually messaged the 44T lads a few weeks ago suggesting exactly this! Fingers crossed!
Another fantastic video in this great series. Many thanks Sylvain....
Sylvain you are a scholar and a gentleman. Great article, very informative, even more impressive in your second Language! I want to buy another Suzuki now!
So basically you have 3 levels of gsxr1000r:
Good
Better
ANIMAL
Such a great ambassador for Suzuki!

I live in Hinckley, 5 miles away from mallory, so it's great seeing you do loads of videos at the local track!
Merci Sylvain, ta chaîne surpasse la concurrence en terme de légitimité sur la technique , l’expérience et le feed-back. And the Queen would be pride of your english, I think.
Thank you Silvain, you are amazingly prepared, brilliant, polite and kind!
I really appreciate that a pro rider as accomplished as this is making videos like these. It's great to hear his insight.
Very kind of you to share your GP experience! Thank you Sylvain!
I wonder how many GSXRs have left showrooms since you started your channel. I really enjoy these videos.
Probably quite a few. If I was on the fence between buying one of the big 3 Japanese machines, Sylvain's videos would swing it for me
Thanks Sylvain, I really enjoyed this video. Its about the right length to watch fully and not skip. Its easy to see your ability to focus on the bike's engineering for extremely small gains.
This channel is getting better and better with every video Sylvain.

Loved this comparison video... Would be awesome to see a comparison video between the 600, 750, and 1000 on a tight track and on a big fast track.
I'm not even a biker and I'm blown away with Sylvain's analysis, knowledge and care!

Your channel is absolutely amazing, SG 😁👍🏻 very intelligently broken down and simplified for us knobbers behind our screens 😂 legend !
Sylvain is a shoe in to run track training days once he has finished Top Gun GP riding eh? Its just quality to watch and listen to this fella!!
Very comprehensive and well put together comparison.

Another great video Sylvain 🏁 Those BSB boys are true legends all that power without traction control 💪
Thank you for all of your insights please keep making your videos.I can’t wait for the Motogp season to start.and hope you’ll be doing some wildcards.
Encore une vidéo passionnante !!! Merci Sylvain !

This channel just keeps getting better! Awesome stuff Sylvain👌🏻
What an amazing bike the GSXR 1000 is! I've owned two, an K3 and K7. My K7 did everything, commute, track days, Nurburgring & rode down to Monza. Amazing performance for the money.
What a great series of videos this is! So interesting and insightful.
Fantastic quality as usual, Monsieur. Guintoli! Much love from Northern California, United States.
👨👩👧 ❤ 📺 S. Guintoli 🏍
Glad to find your channel and I watched all your videos!
Smashing it man, love the time you manage to put into this!
Merci beacoup Sylvan, really like your videos, looking forward to you testing the moto-gp bike around Cadwell Park😀 keep up the good work.
Great review of all three bikes Sylvain!
Amazing content Sylvain! For real bikers - from a real biker!
I can't expect more from motor racing videos, lucky to follow your channel :D
Totally cool! Great video Sylvain.
Whats with the thumbs down!!,great guy doing a brilliant job, looking forward to the next episode 👍
Very interesting comparison - pretty cool of Suzuki - demonstrates how good the fundamentals of the roadbike are !
Hey Suzuki, what are you paying this guy? His channel has twice as many subscribers as your SuzukiRacingNews UA-cam channel and the engagement and comments are off the scale. Hahahaha.
Une augmentation pour Sylvain SVP, il le mérite!
Yep he is just gold dust for them eh? the whole shutdown has made him into a proper bona fide video star!
Really good enioyed this, shows how good a road bike actually is in the right hands!
Yes. On the right hands! 👍🏼
All stock bikes nowadays are very high quality.
Brilliant content! Hope u can compare with a GSX-RR haha.
Whats the regulation difference between BSB and WSBK in power, tech and weight? Love from Indonesia
That would be interesting! GSX-R vs GSX-RR 😎
BSB vs WSBK, power is similar, minimum weight is 168kg for BSB and 168 for WSBK, the main difference is the electronic control system. BSB is a single ECU by Motec with NO traction control, NO wheelie control and NO start strategy. WSBK electronic strategies are far more advanced. That is the main reason why the lap times are faster as the tires are the same.
fantastic as usual sylvain!
Really honest and interesting feedback.. Great video
Great videos! I always enjoy them
Absolutely love your content 👍 , it’s amazing to get feedback like this from someone who actually knows what they are talking about for a change.
Love these videos! Here’s the proof: if you want to go fast, invest in the rider! If a top level international rider can only manage a couple seconds difference across these bikes, then us mortals are much better off spending money on trackdays and coaching than titanium, carbon fiber and other fancy bits
Fantastic content and ever the uber professional. Keep it up buddy, looking forward to the next video
I am SO glad I subscribed to you. Always Always teaching me something. Thank you 🙏🏾
Great channel BTW. Brilliant content. Love the telemetry
Really enjoy your videos, the detail you go into, and your style in delivering the information. Thank you! Do u think you’ll ever be able to test the GSXR 1000 RYUYO and compare lap times to these bikes and share your opinion/perspective of that motorcycle?
I'm so glad you have a channel!!! Thanks! 👊
As always... Very informative. Easy to grasp. Keep it coming 👍
Awesome stuff! Thanks for putting this info out there
What a great Guy very articulate and professional and a great rider no wonder you won the 2014 WSB championship love to meet you and talk bikes in general Very best wishes with the rest of your career and life in general . Can we adopted you as a Brit🙂🇬🇧
you know the wsb is legit when a gp rider is saying its an animal
Bsb not wsb!
Wsbk has traction control. The toughest and best riders race in BSB where all you have is pure skill to manage all those raw ponies 💪💪👍
Yes sorry boys I meant the superbike spec over super stock.
