Gotta love someone who can talk like that and still be understood. I really love that coin routine. Any magician who is good enough to perform The Miser's Dream is EXTREMLY respected in the magic community.
Can't forget these guys. They kept magic alive. I think magicians were respected more 60 yrs ago. However, all these effects are viable today. Thanks for the upload.
Wow, flash from the past. I used to go uptown to Al Flosso's magic shop when I was a kid in the '70s. He was pretty old back then, but kind and talented and generous with his time.
My God... That was cool beyond words!!! I love the side-show barker patter and style. It's really a shame that this style of performing went the way of the dodo. If only the average layperson of today's world could be entertained like this again. Thanks so much for posting this!
Al was great! He was an old time Jewish Vaudvillian until he bought the Martinka shop way back in 1939. It was a messy, lovable place. His son Jackie took it over when Al passed away, I think in 1967. And Jackie himself passed on a few years ago in 2003.
Pretty Awesome!!!! I wish I met him though... He's pretty awesome!!!! I never knew that magic was really awesome in the oldie days! I wish he was alive, at least in my heart and mind! :D That's the spirit! :] Wished that the new days was the old days. :D claps LOUDLY!
I can watch this a thousand times.
Rest in Peace Al.
That boy will never forget that experience for as long as he lives. Thanks Al Flosso for the endless memories!

The great Dai Vernon came to Coney Island as a young man and taught Al Flosso tricks even he never saw!
