I met Slydini when I was 13 years old at Earthquake McGoon's Magic cellar doing a magic lecture..My dad took me,I was just flaberghasted at his magic. Years later I was doing magic professionally ( close-up,doves,Illusions) A great performer that I knew asked me to pick Tony up at the airport...His baggage was lost & he stayed over at my house,We did magic all night. We became friends & I met him at the airport on a regular basis.I never begged him to teach me so he liked that.I helped him get set-up for his lesson sessions w/10 magicians.I understood him with his Italian accent. He actually re-invented close-up & stage magic.
They are not "his" secrets. It's all public domain stuff you can find in Bobos and similar publications. Bobos is over 50 years old now, it's public domain. It's just Hang Ping Chen, lapping, false transfers, palms. They are not Slydini's moves more than anyone elses, just public domain magic, so it's perfectly OK to discuss and teach the moves for free. I will help new magicians learn for free - non of this purchase and pay nonsense for very old public domain magic secrets!
Wow this is great condition for its age and also amazing to see slyini's talent at a younger age then the other vids on the net, THANX A TON FOR UPLOADING THIS MAN! THIS IS HIS BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE EVER IN MY OPINION!!
He makes it look so easy and natural, but as someone who's been practicing the maestro's linking pins routine for over twenty years, I can assure you that it is anything but. Thanks very much for posting this.
What a superb video of a truly superb magician. It bothers me that the general public doesn't really know any of the true masters of our art-form. Their loss, I suppose.
I'm not spamming, I'm legitimately discussing the video. So you will get nowhere. He didn't even basically invent lapping. He didn't even remotely invent it. It existed a long time in many different forms before he came anywhere near it. I would learn a bit about magic history, if you want to make sensible comments on the videos :)
Who cares if noone asked. People don't post comments just because somebody else asks. You are being very dumb there. They post comments so other people can understand the video. By the way, your English is almost incomprehensible. I think you should take some English classes.
in my humble opinion slydini's original one coin routine is "the "best one coin routine ever David roth eric jones etc has come up with their own but none of the routine that they come up with could match up with slydini's its magic in its simplest form simply artistic
I know...? I paid respect to this gentleman by purchasing and reading all his publications and videos..and actually valuing his secrets. You should feel ashamed of yourself.
Wow what a great quality video. Slydini was a genius way ahead of his time and all pure skill. The paper balls make me laugh out loud every time I watch it.
After watching magic for nearly 40 years, ever since I was a little boy, I have to say Slydini's "Paper Balls over the Head" has got to be one of the best and most memorable magic tricks I'e ever seen; a real classic. I'd put it up there with the Cups and Balls even, just for pure sleight of hand and magical skills...
maxLeifermann it's truly amazing because it presents the essence of magic - misdirection-directly to the audience. They see how the trick is done but that doesn't take away the entertainment.
I just love the last act. Everyone in the audience can tell so easily what he's doing, but it shows how, at the right angle, people will always be fooled!
Wait he’s barely got an accent here but when he was really old and doing stuff on the Cavett Show his accent was so thick 😂 so he mustve been playing it up Man i rly love mr slydini. What a legend!
C'est dommage qu'elle ne suive pas complétement, quand elle réfléchit elle regarde devant elle, juste au moment ou sa magie opère. En tout cas cet artiste est impressionnant.
his books are great. it appears that tony played a major influence in a lot of the performers back then. At one moment, all of the were talking and moving like tony. very polite performer
My all time FAVORITE Close-up magician, performing the year i was born! & in FRANCE yet! {I'm of french canadian decent}. How awsome is THAT?! Thanks so very much for sharing this great footage of the man who was the EPITOMY of poetry in magic. :)
can you guys recomend good coin techniques that would work when you are standing side by side someone at a bar? because the current two handed vanishes i try such as retention vanish dont work good. im sure my poor delivery is a factor but i think the side angle also leaves alot of the effects well less effective.
The big competition as far as who the best close up magician was back in the day was Al goshman vs Slydini. We're talking about a close-up magic show I would also include Rene Lavond
Penn and Teller do a really cool trick in their Vegas show to a blindfolded audience member involving rings where the rest of the audience can see what is going on and how the blindfolded person is fooled, I wonder if that was inspired by this.
This is total rubbish.....Slydini's whole act revolved around dropping things in to his lap, unsighted by the front-on camera & audience. Massively over-rated.
Yes, well said hipflipped. We must call things out for what they are. 'Cardini' was excellent but this guy is the sort of performer that gives magic a bad name.@@hipflipped

That is really cool you say you got to know Slydini ! ?
That’s a really good story around what year was this?
What were one or two of the biggest learning points that you absorbed from watching him teach?
You must be very hard working. Kudos man.
nice memory, thanks for sharing
Great Slydini! thank you Christian de MIEGEVILLE!!

Slydini wants to slap her when she keeps turning to the camera to translate
I always liked Slydini so much. What a great character, you have to remember close up magic wasn't really being done back in the day very rare.
Wow this is great condition for its age and also amazing to see slyini's talent at a younger age then the other vids on the net, THANX A TON FOR UPLOADING THIS MAN! THIS IS HIS BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE EVER IN MY OPINION!!

Thank you for uploading this. It is lovely to see Slydini work and I have never seen this early TV performance before.
Here I sit with a huge smile on my face. Magic done with care, attention and belief! No apologise or awkward gags. Bravo master
Lol. The guys a master at his art. Wow is he good!
What a superb video of a truly superb magician. It bothers me that the general public doesn't really know any of the true masters of our art-form. Their loss, I suppose.
It is akin to dance...true artistry here.
A lot of lapping used where he drags the coin off the back of the table into his lap and pretends it is still in his hand - not too difficult.
Lapping was known a long time before Syldini. He just used it a lot. If you want me to expose any more effects, just post here and I can for you.
I'm not spamming, I'm legitimately discussing the video. So you will get nowhere. He didn't even basically invent lapping. He didn't even remotely invent it. You are the one who is a child. You clearly have a feeble understanding of the comments system, and of the English language too.
One of the closest thing to real magic I have ever studied in my entire lifetime.

As well as the magic Sablon was a brilliant crooner! Slydini AND Sablon on the same bill. Could it get any better?!!!
New found vintage footage from magician and bunny (fail)

@@rayzhong8542 Yeah, allows the audience to truly appreciate the skill of our art like no other illusion.
C'est juste magnifique! Un grand merci pour le partage de ce chef d'œuvre !
Yeesh. Tough crowd.
It's the original Allison..
incredible misdirection.. hard to track D:
I just love the last act. Everyone in the audience can tell so easily what he's doing, but it shows how, at the right angle, people will always be fooled!
Someone who realized could not buy this tricks online.

TRACK ID????
Thank you for this fantastic upload! You da man!
Or maybe he was just upset because there was no color, lasers, wind machines or scantily clad assistants! :)
his books are great. it appears that tony played a major influence in a lot of the performers back then. At one moment, all of the were talking and moving like tony. very polite performer

J’adore ce magicien . Je travaille actuellement les foulards.
do you have any idea what song is playing at the background ?
This really made my day. Thanks for the post!
Wow, this is the best Slydini video I've seen! Thanks so much for this.
Hes so smooth. Ive watched his videos so many times and still cant catch him.
How did he do lapping when the lady was sitting right next to him?
Awesome, So glad to see it. Thank you
Vraiment magnifique, un vrai magicien ! Que de la technique et des heures de manipulations et d'entrainement !
can you guys recomend good coin techniques that would work when you are standing side by side someone at a bar? because the current two handed vanishes i try such as retention vanish dont work good. im sure my poor delivery is a factor but i think the side angle also leaves alot of the effects well less effective.
gringodli mancholish blame your skill not the effect ... that's what i learned in 3 years of magic ;)
Someone who was too confused/mad.
Legend of magic.
stunning performance
MASTERFUL.

Excelente!!!!!!!!!

Aucunement démodé. Eternel.

How is it possible this has twelve dislikes?
Because this video is in B&W and lasts 13 min!
absolument génial .
대단한마술!!

Probably the best. Has to be.

What a treat this was...Thanks!~
I can explain paper balls in hat. He has an extra ball in his lap.The same as paper balls in box that I gave you the other explanation for!
youschtube I am exposing the method... because I can... are you going to stop me, LOL.
youschtube I don't need to gain anything from you, I know all the methods.
Thank you sincerously
Sincerously ? Is that a word?
@@CarlAquaForce Sincerely I do not know what I was thinking about seven years ago.
I am sorry for causing such a linguistic pain.
And that is a point as well! "How am I supposed to 'like' this when he doesn't show us how he does it?" Sometimes people make me... sad.
Penn and Teller do a really cool trick in their Vegas show to a blindfolded audience member involving rings where the rest of the audience can see what is going on and how the blindfolded person is fooled, I wonder if that was inspired by this.
haha his gruff personality doesn't fit in with the French metropolitans in the video lol
Not good the magicians today make him look shit
This uses the hang ping chen move in the early phases and a lot of lapping in the one coin routine.
This is total rubbish.....Slydini's whole act revolved around dropping things in to his lap, unsighted by the front-on camera & audience. Massively over-rated.
Yeah, except for the great comic value of "balls over the head", the rest of the weird lapping and so on is just kind of... honestly... shit.
