Ricky Jay was an absolute genius and legend.
Ricky Jay was a one of a kind talent and entertainer.
I love the childlike excitement Dave has while interviewing Ricky Jay. You can tell he's really engaged. Ricky was such an interesting character and is definitely missed.
Love Ricky Jay. Dave was so great with these kinds of guests; Johnny Carson, too. It's always fun when the host is having a good time.
@@nogi7028 NOOooooo. Johnny LOVED magicians. When he was 12 he started performing as "The Great Carsoni." He was an early fan of Lance Burton when he was still doing a cool show in NYC, and Carson was also a great fan of The Amazing Randi, and even consulted him on the best way to foil "mentalist" Uri Gellar when he appeared on the Tonight Show. ( That's a great segment, BTW, if you've never seen it.)
Love Ricky Jay
Deceptive Practices is a great documentary
an extraordinary man both learned and humble Rick Jay RIP
When I was in grade school, I used to take a weekly 70-mile bus trip through the piney woods to meet with J.B. Bobo and others at a "magician's round table." Circa 1960.
Oh man, Ricky's line about a bird in the shower went over everyone's head
A bird, as in a Lady.... Right?
Literally, one of the best to ever live and probably the best of our generation. How in the hell did he do that trick, btw?
This is one of the best interviews I've seen with Ricky .
His mastery of magic always astounded me.
One of the last of the absolute entertainment giants and magic historians!
Sad when he left, n thankful of the film n books we have left!
To have Ricky Jay on Penn and Teller Fool Us would've been a dream. That would have been excellent.
I was a big Ricky Jay fan. He played a great part as the cameraman in Boogie Nights. He was an incredible showman with how he interacted with the audience. I especially loved the Cards As Weapons segment where he could whip regular playing cards into a a watermelon.
Miss Ricky Jay!
They clash a bit in the beginning. But it ends well 😅
Thanks, Dave.
I love this dude so much
Super interview, Dave.
I have a shower trick too, but no one would want to see it!
"Look, I'm a publicist, not a magician."
He was great in Last Days, one of the best parts of a grim film.
RJ, truly one of a kind.
haha
Dave taps the card after knowingly
Does it change?
Ricky passed away in 11/2018.
4:48 Letterman knew this would be brought up yet he didn't have two 1 dollar bills to really test ricky jay???

How did he do that?…..Practice, practice, practice….
LETTERMAN WAS FOR ME, UNWATCHABLE, BECAUSE HE WAS SO RUDE --------INTERRUPTED GUESTS--------TALKED OVER THEM--------ABSOLUTELY BEYOND THE PALE OF RUDENESS. RICKY CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS, BECAUSE LETTERMAN KEEPS ON INTERRUPTING HIM. --------------MJL, 77 Y/O
I’m sorry; who’s Ricky Jay?
