I have 3 cats and they are familiar with driving in the sense they don't freak out and scream but they sit curled up into me and shake. I want them to be as comfortable as possible. I am trying to prepare them in advance since I am not moving for another 7 months. Thank you for this video!
Hi! Might be moving 20 hours away with my cats soon. Did you let them roam in the car at all or keep them crated in there? Also in the hotels you said they hid. I’m worried about that with my cats and not being able to get them to come out from their hiding spots. Did you have any issues with that?
My cats were in a carrier the entire drive - we were too paranoid to let them roam, in case of an accident. We made sure all hotels were pet friendly, but I'll be honest, pet friendly means dog friendly, not fat friendly. Block off all hidey holes before you release your cats.
I think the first night was a Best Western and then we stayed in Hilton hotels, which we liked more and I believe they had better pet rates. We didn't book ahead of time because we drove until we could tell our cats reached their limit, so once we were hitting the point where we planned to pull over soon, we would call local chain hotels nearby to ask for their rates. After the trip, we decided to stick with Hilton when traveling with our cats.
Not true.. I camp with my cat in a Ford Escape SUV..! We travel. We eat..We sleep..we watch movies.. And his food dish and water is next to where he poops.. He don't care, I clean his poo as soon as he does it in the vehicle.. No Stink then..
