They are so sweet! Love our boys! They were both rescues - Poki showed up on my dad's doorstep one night and the vet said he was only 4 weeks old. Shorti we adopted from PetSmart at 6 months old. His mother was a stray that was put in a foster home, where she then had her litter that included Shorti.
That’s an awesome travel carrier! Lots of room for your kitties plus the litter box. We are considering one of those for our small dog to keep her more settled in between rest stops. Great video. New subbie here👍🏻 Thanks for sharing🤗
Although this video is older I’ve never seen any kind of carrier like this for my babies! I’ve been looking for months and watching loads of videos. THANK YOU!! This takes so much stress off my upcoming move.
Hope you are successful in finding a carrier that works for you. I actually found this one listed as being a dog carrier. I don't know why companies/people think that cats don't need space - especially for travel.

New to your channel, I have 2 rescue kitties but they don't like harness or carriers. I'm considering a RV to relocate and want them safe and healthy. This carrier looks like the best option. Thank you.

My cats would have made a customized escape hatch within 20 minutes. I can imagine their claws, their terror, and my bleeding arms.

It's actually a full size litter box! We use the Tidy Cats Breeze system with the hood. Love it!

About to travel from Los Angeles to Houston TX with my kitty and this would have been perfect! Great video! I have the Tidy Cats Breeze system so hopefully it will fit in my Amazon basic car enclosure (very much like the one in your video that you used and didn't like) Wish me luck!

We're about to move from Virginia to Maine and I got a big dog crate to put in my back seat. The cats will be sitting near my son so they aren't lonely and he will be able to pet and play with them. I'll be testing it out today to see how they both do lol

I just wanted to say that i have had small pets escape from the Cadillac version of the long kennel/crate you have. The zippers can fail when pets push against them. I recommend them only for pets who enjoy vehicle rides and aren't a bolt risk when you park.
Oh no! I hope you were able to retrieve the pets safely! The only incident we've had is that Poki leaped out of the carrier as soon as I unzipped it a little bit to get him out and I happened to catch him mid-air! Thankfully he has not done that again.
Thanks for the video. It would be wonderful if Center for Pet Safety crash tested one of those Kar 9 Tunnels. I have Petego's Pet Tube, and the restraining buckles failed in the CPS crash test. I'm guessing that the IsoFix system would stop it flying off the seat, but wonder how the rest would stand up to the weight of a couple of dogs
The bottom buckles do secure it pretty well, but it could be "iffy" with a couple of heavy dogs. Our primary concern with cats is keeping them confined in a space large enough for a litter box and to have room to stretch out. A crash test would be interesting and potentially beneficial, though!

It crossed my mind that is those two clips are just hooked over rather than "clicked" in to the seat fitting - then is there a risk of them coming off during travel?
The clips are metal and they are the "click" kind (the loop closes on them). They will not come off on their own.
Thank you for the information. I read yesterday that Petego sold out to Quaker Pet Group (PG) in January 2018, which explains their not responding to Facebook or emails. QPG replied to an email and said that they have new carriers in the making, which will be crash tested - so that's a win for dog owners :)

This video was very helpful as I will be applying to medical schools within the next year (med school has a 5% acceptance rate on average so many people have to relocate). I have a two-year-old cat who hates traveling. I think this setup will be best for the both of us that way he has a litter box. Do you give your kitties any medications to ease their anxiety/nausea before the ride?
This particular carrier was discontinued soon after this video was released several years ago. :-( Too bad because it is a good one! It was actually sold as a dog carrier, but it worked great for us! So I recommend researching dog carriers since for some reason companies seem to think cats don't need much room. ??? DUH! And, no, we have never given the boys any anxiety meds. Poki loved to travel and Shorti mostly slept after he threw up a couple of times in the first 30 minutes.

Oh my goodness I'm so excited it's year 2022 and I'm hoping that I can locate this online to purchase maybe one or two of them they're going to be traveling from California to Wisconsin so I definitely need this for my daughter to travel with also two you mentioned your kitty likes to play with hair ties scrunchies... I don't mean to sound mean but please please don't let your cat's play with those they can swallow them getting their intestinal tract and it's a certain death I know of three instances so I try to get that word out thank you so much for the great video
Thanks for your comments! I hope you are able to find a carrier or two that will work. This video was made several years ago and the carrier doesn't seem to be made any more. It was actually sold as a dog carrier, so that's something to keep in mind when looking. Also, my kitties stopped playing with hair ties a couple of years ago. Just lost interest (as cats do!). strangely enough looking at that setup at 4:10 just makes all of my travel anxiety vanish. almost makes me want to be the size of a cat just to experience it or to have something of a 360 camera there

While this seems cute and comfy for them, it doesn't seem very safe if there was a truck crash. They would be tossed about inside of a flimsy structure. Also, what if the truck broke down and needed to be repaired at a garage for several hours? What would you do with the cats if you didn't have carriers? My cats are not especially fond of their carriers but I would be reluctant to not have the carriers at least WITH me. Thanks for sharing your set up though. I will keep exploring options.
We still have individual carriers for them that we either have in the truck or in the Airstream. So we do have access to them in case we need to take a cat to the vet or something. Thanks for your concern!

There is info. on the product in the description below the video, but others have commented that this is no longer available (this video was made several years ago). The original company was PetEgo, and I don't think they're in business anymore. This is actually a carrier marketed for a large dog, so that's something to look for!
Where did you buy that n how much. Thank you for the idea. I have to move two cats from Idaho to Arizona.
The video was made in May of 2018 and the carrier was purchased a few months before on Amazon. I don't think this particular carrier is being made any more, but there are similar ones available on Amazon. I tried writing to the company to inquire, but did not get a response. This carrier was originally marketed as a dog carrier due to its size, so that would be something to check out.

So far, how have they adjusted to the RV lifestyle?
I have a deer head Chihuahua, that most of my other RV'rs in various places, are shocked I have a dog in my house (rig) because he doesn't bark (except when a squirrel gets to close to the rig).
I've been slowly toying with the idea of rescuing a WAY older female cat.
A lot of variables to consider. How often do you have to go to the vet?
Thanks for your comment! Our cats have adjusted pretty well, although they much preferred the running and jumping space in our previous rig, the 40' DRV. Now that we're in a 30' Airstream, they don't have as much room to run, but still manage to play.
As far as taking them to the vet - we have been fortunate to have healthy cats and only need to take them in for annual exams and shots. We've only had to board them once, when we went to Hawaii, and they seemed to do quite well in their kitty condo!

Not built in to the carrier. I sometimes use a plastic bowl and put a little water in it so if it spills there is not a lot - although our cats are not interested in drinking while we're moving. We stop fairly often and offer them water at those times. Same with food. I have seen some "no spill" water bowls online but have never tried one.

No, we don't let them play outside. They have always been indoor cats.

Great question and you are the first one to ask about that! It is a PawHut 39" Portable Soft-sided pet carrier. Looks like you can still get it on Amazon for $108.99. It was a little tricky to put together - or at least to zip both parts together, but it was a nice carrier. The Tidy Cats Breeze hooded box just fit in it, but it did take up one of those compartments. It would be a perfect size for one cat, though! Thanks so much for asking about this and I hope it works out for your kitty!

Hello! The litter box is Tidy Cats Breeze, the hooded version. It uses pine pellets instead of regular cat litter. The pellets last a long time and they don't create dust. And it uses "diapers" to soak the urine. Check out the box on the Tidy Cats site. I get the pads from Amazon: AmazonBasics Cat Pad Refills for Litter Box. They work well and are much less expensive than the Tidy Cats version.

The difference being that this one is rounded where the one I have is squared. That video was made 2 years ago, and companies come and go and merge a lot these day. Do your cats have claws? I have 3 cats that still have claws. My only concern is that they would rip the material
Yes, our still have their claws. They have never tried to claw their way out of the carrier, though.
Declawing is inhumane, that's like having your knuckle taken off, some cat's will then develop bad behavior such as biting because they're natural defense has been taken from them.
Cats NEED their claws, just like our nails they can be clipped. Please read how inhumane declawing is
Our cats would have to be contained to GET TO the car/carrier.
Yeah, we have to hold on pretty tight and make sure there aren't any dogs or kids around during a transfer. And getting multiple cats in/out can be tricky! One time we opened the zipper and Poki came FLYING out! He was caught mid-air! Too bad we didn't get that on film....

It is/was PetEgo and it was designed to be a dog carrier. Apparently the company stopped making it not too long after this video. My two cats hate each other and would kill each other in one of these. I like the space. Mine would each need one of their own. Where do I order these?
