I picked up a bottle of that at Walmart myself. It cleans very well. It's super slick. Not quite sure yet how it will protect bluing on guns long term. It's very thin. Thinking it might evaporate quickly. But as a lubricant. It has something in it that is noticeably better at helping things slide!
I'm actually doing research on this product because I have a hard time changing brands and preferred equipment but as iv cleaned and lube my guns throughout the years I've noticed that for traveling or long hunting bout I prefer a light oil or cleaner to keep me in the game and giving me the best chance and I think I'm going to start keeping this in the travel case
I've always been a Ballistol fan. Mostly because it works and its non-toxic. Heck, I think you can eat it. Does the Sta-Bil last longer? I'm willing to give it a try. Or maybe some automotive products? I've heard good things about synthetic oils and greases, and the price sure is right.
We hope you give our STA-BIL Gun CLP product a try. We look forward to you trying it out! If you have questions about our Automotive products, let us know! We are happy to help.
It's funny watching this now. I just bought a gallon of the old CLP like we all used in the Army in the early 90s when I served because I wanted a good-sized "stockpile." Didn't have any idea if it was the best, but it was "what I knew". I seriously doubt it is non-toxic, but I wonder if Ballistol or Sta-bil works as well. I honestly have no idea...😂
